I want to list some non-political ways Elon has ruined Twitter:

• External links get throttled because Elon is afraid of people leaving his site
• New privacy policy to allows third parties to train AI on your content
• Blocking has been rendered useless (normies like blocking)
• Bluechecks are forced at the top of replies, a form of pay-to-win that is often exploited by OF whores and crypto scammers
• Ad revenue sharing incentivizes rage bait and other lowest common denominator slop
• The site's owner shoves his own posts into people's feeds even if they don't follow him
• The bot problem has gotten noticeably worse

And instead of fixing any of the above, they're adding bloat "features" nobody asked for like "Grok integration" to "explain posts"

Are there good things about X? Spaces and Community Notes are genuinely great and pretty much the saving grace of the platform. Too bad they both predate Elon so he can't take credit for them

Likes going private and the blocking change are fine IMO. It always seemed kind of weird to have blocks work how they did, at least for public posts/accounts.

Bluecheck like/engagement farming is a problem though. It's probably going to kill the site eventually, but hey at least End Wokeness and Libs of Tiktok will take home big paychecks from it.

The big thing I noticed about this presentation is the lack of audience participation. I haven't watched the full video so it could be the YouTubers have editing it in a misleading way to make it seem worse than it is, but you tell Musk isn't get the enthusiastic rock concert WOOOOs from the crowd he's used to. People are burnt out, they've become reflexively skeptical. Not even the hand-picked fanboy audience at a hype event takes Musk at his word anymore.

On any post with significant engagement, you'd be able to tell where the boosted blue check replies end and the organic replies begin even if the check mark icons themselves were hidden.
