Does it make sense for a man whose entire career revolves around reputation, connections, and wrangling investors to be so laissez-faire about an impersonator? A single comment from Adrian could create a PR disaster, causing all kinds of damage even if he could prove it wasn’t him.
Elon would not give someone that kind of leverage.
This is a sensible line of questions. My response would be that because Adrian is doing his skinwalking as Elon under his
own name rather than Elon's, and
the two have appeared on a Twitter Space together and talked at the same time about the alt account allegations, Elon considers the issue settled and is personally fine with labeling any stragglers who still believe it as conspiracy theorists when he's asked about it IRL.
This explanation likely works perfectly well for investors too, as the average person in the business world is not likely to unironically speculate about someone creating an AI model of their voice and/or creating a soundboard of themselves laughing (like people in the comments of the above video were speculating) just for the sake of running a second Twitter account that posts the exact same political takes as the man himself.
(This is also even assuming investors would give a shit about an impersonator of Elon Musk netting the real one any bad press, as if Musk doesn't generate enough bad press on his own by a) being a Republican, and b) being a fucking retard. There are probably a million other things on investors' minds before they'd care about how someone whose name isn't Elon Musk answered a question about 9/11, let's be real.)
Also, with how widespread this theory has become, both in the mainstream and in average online discussions, what do you think Elon banning Adrian would even accomplish now? If he banned Adrian right this very second, would you suddenly go "oh wow I guess it really wasn't Elon after all!" or do you think
maybe you and everyone else that buys into the theory would collectively gasp and go
"he's covering his tracks!!!" ?
And even aside from all of that, the impetus of Elon's original banwave against people impersonating him wasn't because they were just talking
similarly to him or posting
similar political takes as him (but doing it all under their own names); it's that they were posting
insane, out-of-character shit, under
his name. That's a big difference! This comparison between early Elon impersonators like Ethan Klein and the current Muskwalker Adrian Dittmann that's been made ITT is just not an accurate one.
