Encounters With SJWs/Tumblristas Offline or In Unusual Communities

meet j, who was my director at my first university show.

he's a wealth of luls for me irl. he is a licensed street performer... for tarot cards and slam poetry. his Facebook is a constant feed of 'fuck cis people' and other wonderful tenents of queer theory. he's suddenly started going to dyke marches and dresses like a tranny cowboy

he's been homeless a few times, goes on bahleeting sprees when not enough people like his statuses... he's quite a wealth of hilarity, will post moar when i can pick his greatest hits
I thought that was a woman.

I think SJW-ism is more a way of interacting with the world than any specific political position, but thinking that shirtgate shit was justified is kind of a red light. Being more concerned with some dumb shirt than an historic scientific event shows seriously fucked priorities.
He more or less told me I was wrong because muh patriarchy when I told him not only was the shirt awesome and not deserving of the shitstorm, but that as a woman if anything was offensive it was the idea that women are so weak even a goddamn shirt could scare them off from certain careers. I also pointed out I found it appauling feminists focused on that instead of serious issues like lack of support for male rape and violence survivors and lack of punishment for female rapists and child molestors, he in so few words said this was okay because those problems would magically disappear when feminism defeats the patriarchy. Or something.

He has a bit of a history of coming off as being politically supportive of what things are currently popular, especially in progressive and geek circles. Currently he's also big into this no-waste lifestyle thing, and a few months back he was all about juicing and organic foods.

So, i guess i have another story to share.
I was recently stuck in the graveyard shift at work. It is kinda slow and boring but atleast the pay is good and when the orders are out we usually hang around and watch whatever movie goes on any of the free chanels. The one that aired last night was django unchained...

We have this co-worker who is usually just sitting in a corner wit her cellphone. She was mostly ignoring the movie until she realised what it was about, then she started huffing louder and louder and looking around at the rest of us.

Eventually she told us that we really ought to turn this movie off because it is incredibly racist and reinforces the oppression of black people by glorifying the slavery. When someone asked her how it could possibly be doing that when the entire plot centers around a black man that is fighting slave traders she got upset and went on a rant about how the movie was painting Leo as a hero and martyr and that it really ought to be more clear that he is a bad guy.

We are officially at the point where it is necessary to have a line of text on the screen saying "see that man who just fed another man live to the dogs? That man is the villain"

So they're a Tumblrtard with no sense of context? Yeah, SJWs and shit do not give a tarry about things like context or obvious signs that x is bad. They seem to fall into the really fucking dumb idea that is "beauty/attractiveness/I get a boner = good." You see it all the time in fandoms, where people apologize for characters who are attractive that fit the arguer's sexual orientation, but will attack characters who aren't attractive for the exact same shit.

Which is fucking hilarious because it's so two-faced and shallow of them, for all their talk about wanting equality and how lookism or whatever is some horrible oppression.

I used to think people weren't nearly stupid enough to not understand context in media. I thought they could tell when a bad guy is a bad guy, and when a bad action is presented as such.

I was wrong.

You see, he was missing a cape, an evil twirly moustache and a KKK hood. While carrying around the severed heads of minorities he'd killed. And on the cape should have been written #Gamergate, just to get the SJWs to really hate him.

They'd still think the movie's not condemning him.

I would've just laughed and turned up the volume since she officially has a weaker sense of context than a 1st grader. Being intentionally obtuse like that merits little else as a response IMO.

Man I love Django Unchained and after seeing it and then seeing Tumblr's reaction to it, the whole thing was just bizarre. I'm pretty sure I posted about it before.

Their reasons for hating it ranged from having a woman being a damsel in distress to the movie being directed by a white man to Dr. Schultz being motivated to help Django out of white guilt to Spike Lee hating it and therefore they hated it too, going all the way up to thinking the actor that played D'artagnan actually died. The OP, of course, said it was a "social experiment." One wonders what their control was, since it's well known Tumblr has been trained into being gullible as shit.

And every time I saw these posts pop up, with (mostly) white Tumblr idiots bashing this film, I brought up that I saw it in a packed theater where the audience must have been 2/3rds black. People laughed hysterically, they gasped, they fucking clapped and cheered, and just about everybody left that theater smiling.

Surprise surprise, Tumblr doesn't really know anything about what the people they claim to speak for actually like.

Say what you will about Tarantino, but I don't think I've ever met a black person who didn't love his movies. Also, I pretty distinctly remember Schultz saying he was mostly in it for the money, despite his hatred for slavery.

So a buddy of mine just shared this on Facebook:
wtf.PNG

Not entirely sure how to respond to this, especially since he's shared pro-Donald Trump stuff as well.

I checked out the blog as well; seems like standard Tumblr fair, not enough to warrant its own thread, sadly.

One of my old friends turned into an SJW and it ruined our friendship. She not only went full SJW, she went full feminist and began reblogging posts about how "ecofeminism" was the One True Feminism. Apparently, she did not like my egalitarian views or my rampant reblogging of debunked feminist myths, because in her words, I had become a "misogynist" and I "threatened [her] identity" as a feminist. I guess pointing out that treating all men like monsters is actually kind of shitty means that I hate all women. Before we finally parted ways, she insisted that I attend an overly-PC Christmas party and the moment I stepped in the door, the first word I heard was "racism". It really set the tone for the rest of the night.
Did anything of note happen at the party? I'm sure we're all dying to know.

Not particularly. The atmosphere was generally oppressive and the only joke I managed to crack was a white girl jab about the fact that everything was covered in pumpkin spice. One of them made a comment about how lesbians are better than bisexual girls, though. That is not very feminist, now is it?

My sister is currently dating a nitwit lesbian who changes her gender near-weekly, always to some variation of "don't call me a girl because I'm not like other girls". She regularly spends hundreds of dollars on cosplays, women's fashion, makeup, and other cosmetics, but whenever her overtly feminine presentation is brought up to her she claims she "can't afford" menswear or hormones. She also used to be fairly popular on Tumblr before becoming too awful for even her genderspecial friends, getting a callout post and threatening to kill herself five times in a row.

I feel privileged (so to speak) to have such a consistent source of entertainment in my life.

I would love to know what her URL was.

She changed her URL fairly often. I remember her going by komaahina and yasuhiros back when all this was going down, but not much of that has been archived.

I actually have her current URL, too, but I'm not so sure I should post it. W'eens and all that.
If she is enough of an exceptional individual then chances are another kiwi will probably create a thread on her anyways.

There's this girl I know irl who recently started posting white privilege and male privilege stuff frequently on my Facebook newsfeed. She also frequently posts anti vax propaganda and anti circumcision propaganda on a daily basis in addition to the 1000's of pics of the baby she just had. Did I mention she's a vegan too.

Also i don't know if this fits the the description of SJW but There's this "satanist" I know that frequently posts anti Isreal, anti England and anti police propaganda on Facebook.
