Because Epic doesn’t yet have the same market share as their competitors, they offered us a minimum guarantee on sales that would match what we’d be wanting to earn if we were just selling Ooblets across all the stores. That takes a huge burden of uncertainty off of us because now we know that no matter what, the game won’t fail and we won’t be forced to move back in with our parents (but we do love and appreciate you, parents!).

Fucking knew they were doing this in addition to cash. Epic that is. So they're paying a fuckton of money for these titles. Even more than I thought.

This developer has their heads up their asses. "Oh, our nice community will be ok with it." Will it now, faggot? Because every single community that has had an Epic exclusive has gone fucking apeshit. Consumers in gaming have been fucked over for money for decades.

"It'll build the game we want to build with fewer compromises!"

Meaning you're just take Epic's money and squander it because you didn't really earn it, much like lotto winners. You're going to rely on that year-long deal where they'll support you for lost sales, then run around trying to implement grandiose features and WHOOPS money's all gone and now you're stuck with people that fucking hate you and a year-old game no one is going to pay full price for on Steam.

Also people are going to remember this shit. You want to sound like an arrogant cunt now, but you'll be crawling back when the exclusive runs out and you're offering your game for bargain basement prices which no one buys because they remember you acted like cunts, instead of being upfront that you just took the money.

2. I appreciate him skipping out on that sack of money for the sake of the players.
