The historical record is, in many ways, still being written and rewritten, and some interesting things have been discovered in the sense that ancient cultures were both more egalitarian and more cosmopolitan than first believed. Women were often religious leaders and excelled in skills like archery. (Artemis is goddess of the hunt, after all.) These should be exciting developments for intellectual women to learn about, but, instead, Tony (and Zach, because he’s espoused this too) have to make it all about trannies. Trans people do exist in history, but they are historically very rare and tend to happen more often in cultures with very strict gender roles and high levels of sex segregation. This makes sense if being trans is a mental illness closely associated with same-sex attraction, but not if it’s a social contagion strengthened by modern decadence and the rise of easily available fetish material and communities on the internet.

One of the democratizing aspects of the modern internet that goes underexamined is how it has revealed how many elites are not just stupid but delusionally so. I don't mean elites like major celebrities or politicians, I mean the once "faceless" elites like journalists and "experts" like Tony/Alex who are willing to share their stupidity constantly outside their work while their "work" remains within a sphere that removes the context those public displays provide. How many journalists like Ben Collins write "normal" stories and then you have their unhinged social media practices that add so much context that you would have passed over in their work but now you know to read with a critical eye because of their name? You see an article that cites Tony or Alex you instantly suspect that story and that journalist because of what you know about them. How many do you see crying about Elon or JESSE SINGAL or whatever stupid thing of the day while literally shaking about the fascism before your mind automatically starts constructing a new critical frame for people who would have once been able to speak authoritatively in ways that never would be challenged. Repeat endlessly across everywhere.

This is one reason they hate free speech and free press so much and are desperate to frame criticism and mockery as "harassment" and "threats", they don't want to impose self-control on themselves so it becomes necessary to force everyone else to obey the status and authority they think they deserve naturally. There's not supposed to be a debate, there's not supposed to be resistance, the betters of society are supposed to lead the way with complete control. When the fiction of that control is pierced, like with COVID or Trump or tons of other things, everything has to collapse into despair, they can never feel "safe" again. Tons of them have written things like how they can never "trust" society again after these events because a handful of people resisted however minor.

The irony is that one of the most important things in successfully fighting mental illness, especially something like anxiety, is focusing yourself to recognize what is and is not in your control. It's really shocking that so many self-diagnosed (and diagnosis shopping) mentally ill people who are definitely not narcissists and/or borderline seem to ignore this.

I will say people not clocking troons in the past is probably because the idea that a man would dress as a woman would be so absurd it wouldn't even be on people's radar as a possibility. On another note almost all cultures that had a third gender, it was exclusively reserved for gay/effeminate men. It was their "progressive" way of saying gay men aren't actually men. That's probably what he believes, but I can't imagine it was anything like reality. I don't know much about ancient Mesopotamian beliefs, but in other forms of paganism and shamanism when you had cross-dressing holy people, it wasn't because they were cool and valid and just like the other girls. It was because they inhabited a liminal space between life and death, and between humans and the gods/spirits/ancestors. So wearing opposite-sex clothing or doing other things associated with the opposite sex was sometimes part of that. A "trans" holy person (to be horribly anachronistic for a moment) could not live a normal life, by definition they were outside of the normal.

(Then again, considering Tony's background as a drug dealer and wannabe doctor, maybe "deranged shaman" would have been an ideal lifestyle.)

This is also the sorts of prayers Paul had in mind when writing this verse in the New Testament: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." The point is that whatever standards people held themselves to before, whether it allowed them to feel like they were superior to these classes or to feel like they had more responsibility and were honored by it, are no longer in effect. No one is set apart, there is more a sense that everyone has unique gifts that are going to be used for God, less of a sense that only Jewish men are going to have these designated tasks. It expands the responsibility because working with God is now just about accepting that the rules have already been fulfilled and life is actually on "easy mode," for everyone if you let it be. "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

This one example totally shows how cultural context is so important to understanding what historical texts are saying. We can't apply transgenderism to either of these early Jewish and Christian sources. They had totally different schema for understanding gender roles and how labor is distributed amongst different classes. It had little to do with a masculine/feminine essence and more to do with the social capital these groups had and what leadership roles they were expected to shoulder. There was a whole lot more to their lives and to gender roles than just picking out clothes.

Not only that, there was no washing machines, no dish washers, no heaters and air conditioners, nothing to make chores easier. No movies and video games to space out to, reading wasn't as universal, no one delievering tendies - there was no way for troons to survive like they do now. People had to work, working made you feel valuable, and cozy jobs and tendies autofed to you were reserved for the richest of rich. There wasn't a gender that had easy mode installed, labor was mandatory to live. You had to channel your autism into something to survive.

The government is working on new guidance. It has accepted that sex-based rules are essential in:

• Toilets
• Changing-rooms
• Dormitories, including overnight stays
• Sports, at least post-puberty.

Sex-based uniform rules are also lawful.

Sex Matters argues that this means

1. Schools cannot impose a "taboo" on references to any child's actual sex
2. Children's actual sex must be known by everyone in the school environment
3. Writing, communicating and enforcing sex-based rules necessarily rules out "preferred pronouns" or allowing trans-identified children to wear the uniform of the opposite sex.

"Sex-based uniform rules are also lawful" says nothing about whether girls should be forced to wear skirts, just that existing law allows for separate uniform rules for girls and boys. Whether a school adopts such a rule is up to the school and its governors.

Similarly, point 3 on the right just means that there shouldn't be exceptions to these sex-based rules for mentally ill children who believe they're the opposite sex.

If troons are so upset at girls having to wear skirts at school, they can lobby their local school governors to have a unisex uniform rule. But of course they won't do that because it's all about grooming individual children into mental illness.

A Florida judge has ruled draconian restrictions that have eliminated 80% of trans adult providers are likely constitutional.

This follows an 11th Circuit ruling using the Dobbs abortion decision to justify trans bans.

More adult bans could come.

The latest case has illustrated that trans laws are no longer solely about transgender youth. Florida has targeted trans people in all aspects of life... bathrooms, teaching, books, and now, adult medical care.

The result? Trans people seeing their providers drop them.

The judge previously ruled the youth ban was likely unconstitutional.

Judge Hinkle likely had to recalibrate, however, after the 11th Circuit Court ruled that trans care is not "deeply rooted in our nations history and tradition," and so could be banned.

No Longer About Kids: Florida Judge Allows Trans Adult Ban For Large Swaths Of Care (archive)

So what are the "draconian restrictions" that Tony terms a "ban" on medical transition for adults?

• Patients must give informed consent in person to a physician.

Er, that's it.

It's only "draconian" because the huge increase in medical transition has been facilitated by telehealth pill-mills, who use cheaper nurse practitioners in order to maximise their profits.

(2) If sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures are prescribed for or administered or performed on patients 18 years of age or older, consent must be voluntary, informed, and in writing on forms adopted in rule by the Board of Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Medicine. Consent to sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures is voluntary and informed only if the physician who is to prescribe or administer the pharmaceutical product or perform the procedure has, at a minimum, while physically present in the same room:

(a) Informed the patient of the nature and risks of the prescription or procedure in order for the patient to make a prudent decision;

(b) Provided the informed consent form, as adopted in rule by the Board of Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Medicine, to the patient; and

(c) Received the patient’s written acknowledgment, before the prescription or procedure is prescribed, administered, or performed, that the information required to be provided under this subsection has been provided.

(3) Sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures may not be prescribed, administered, or performed except by a physician. For the purposes of this section, the term “physician” is defined as a physician licensed under chapter 458 or chapter 459 or a physician practicing medicine or osteopathic medicine in the employment of the Federal Government.

(4) Consent required under subsection (2) does not apply to renewals of prescriptions consistent with those referenced under s. 456.001(9)(a)1. and 2. if a physician and his or her patient have met the requirements for consent for the initial prescription or renewal. However, separate consent is required for any new prescription for a pharmaceutical product not previously prescribed to the patient.

You really can't entirely waive malpractice. Regardless of whatever stack of bullshit you have to sign to get treatment, doctors are (at least as a legal fiction) held to an objective standard of care and liable for failure to adhere to it.

The major problem with troon quackery is there really is no objective standard. These quacks just make it up as they go along.
