The point is that all religions can be considered "fake." The spaghetti monster religion is, by definition, a functioning religion. It's meant to show that religion is completely arbitrary, and what one person considers the ultimate truth the next could consider absolute shit.
 
Right, cuz' nobody ever gets murdered for a non-religious reason on this planet, ever, it's always with the crusades and jihads and whatnot.... nobody ever gets shot on the sidewalk for their wallet.

Eww, atheist groups and atheist churches.

The moment they start preaching, even in a socially acceptable non-euphoric way, they become exactly the same as the religious folks they wish had no interference in their lives. Their lack of self awareness is staggering.

Atheism is merely the lack of belief in a deity. Euphoria seems to require an actual belief in the nonexistence of a deity, though, and a belief that this is so obvious that anyone who differs is automatically a complete moron.

So somehow I ended up in a Reddit thread where Redditors were circle-jerking about how much they hate people saying they'll pray for them or saying something like "have a blessed day," and this caught my attention.

Seriously, this attitude annoys me so much. Someone is being nice to you, stop being so fucking ungrateful and babyish.

Like, I'm not a Hindu, but if a Hindu person said "May Vishnu bless you," I'd just be like "Thank you!"

I normally stick to just a few sub-reddits where people are genuinely funny and/or insightful, but yeah, the Reddit user base at large is ridiculously obnoxious and in love with themselves. Matters pertaining to religion and atheism is where it's most prominent, but it shows up in a lot of other places. There's just this subtle air of superiority and condescension in some replies that's really aggravating.

I still haven't been able to ascertain why they think they're so great.

Holy fuck, I just struck it rich. I came across a post asking why Christians in the Middle East, who are often horrifically persecuted, fly under the radar of most Westerners and this truly exceptional individual felt the need to put forth a response:
