She's been tracing art for years and has no talent to speak of. The video is full of so much positive feedback its rather disgusting just like on the osana reedit. For those who actually did give a few dollars all those years ago before the flood of youtube talking heads and videos, it was super easy to spot. Yet no one addresses it.

Two new features (archive)
Hello! Two new features have been added to Yandere Simulator for the purpose of replacing some gameplay mechanics that simply weren’t any fun at all. Hopefully, you’re going to have a much easier time with certain elimination methods now that these new mechanics have been added.

So, what exactly was added? Well…

It’s complicated, but click Continue Reading to read a looooong blog post that explains everything!

Tripwire Traps
Splashing liquid on students has been one of Yandere Simulator’s core gameplay mechanics for a long time. It’s connected to any elimination method that involves:

  1. Dousing a student in gasoline.
  2. Forcing a student to deviate from their routine and go someplace with few witnesses.
  3. Getting a student to leave their smartphone unattended while they change into dry clothing.
In short, if you want to eliminate a character with fire, rejection, or expulsion, you WILL have to splash liquid on them at some point in time, for one of the above reasons.

For a while, there was a “trip while carrying a bucket of water” mechanic that allowed the player to easily splash water on anyone, anywhere, anytime. Unfortunately, this mechanic was deeply flawed. The problems were:

  1. It was ridiculously overpowered. It was too easy to eliminate a character by just splashing some water on them and then eliminating them with no witnesses as they changed into dry clothing. Making a character deviate from their routine is a valid strategy, but it should require planning and knowledge of a character’s daily schedule, and it shouldn’t be so “free.”
  2. Giving the player the ability to throw water anywhere at any point in time meant that any event between two characters could be instantly interrupted by a sudden bucket of water, which screwed with a lot of scripted story events.
  3. Tripping while carrying a bucket of water should carry a small reputation penalty, and maybe cause students to avoid you when you’re carrying a bucket. But, if you spill a bucket containing something much more suspicious, such as blood or gasoline, you should be identified as a murderer. These kind of conditions significantly complicate a feature that is meant to be straightforward, not complex.
With all of that in mind, I removed the “trip while carrying a bucket of water” mechanic and replaced it with something else: bucket traps.

I gave the player the ability to place a bucket of liquid above a doorway, so that when the door is opened, the liquid will fall on anyone who walks through it. However…

I have always HATED this mechanic. It’s always been frustrating to use, for multiple reasons:

  1. Waiting long periods of time for your target to walk through a door isn’t fun, it’s boring.
  2. Sometimes, another character will walk through the door before your target, which will trigger the bucket trap and ruin your plans.
  3. If you try to use distractions (like giggles) to lure your target through a door, you have to do it from the other side of the closed door, which means that you can’t actually see the person that you’re trying to distract.
(…not to mention the fact that a bucket above a doorway is VERY noticeable, and anyone who sees it should avoid the door or take the bucket down.)

For years, I have been trying to come up with an alternative to the bucket-trap mechanic. A method for splashing water on characters that:

  1. Requires knowledge of your target’s routine, but doesn’t require you to wait extensive amounts of time.
  2. Doesn’t outwardly look like something that should severely damage your reputation.
  3. Logically wouldn’t be spotted by the target before they trigger it.
  4. Doesn’t require your presence in the immediate vicinity.
  5. Makes logical sense inside of a school environment.
  6. Can work anywhere in school, not just in doorways.
  7. Works with every type of liquid, not just water.
  8. Can also be used for electrocution.
…and I think I’ve finally found it.

A tripwire attached to a water cooler.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Use a bucket to fill the water cooler with a liquid of your choice (water, blood, gasoline, or brown paint).
  2. Poke a hole in the water cooler with a sharp object.
  3. Cover the hole with masking tape from the Art Club.
  4. Use a thread from the sewing room to set up a tripwire that will pull the masking tape off of the water cooler if anyone walks by it.
This will cause the water cooler to spray water over anyone who walks in front of it!

Cool, right?

“But, YandereDev, YandereDev!” you might say. “That sounds like a lot of steps! How will I keep track of all that?”

Don’t worry! I tried to make it as convenient as possible. When you’re standing next to a water cooler, a checklist will appear on the left side of the screen and tell you what steps to follow to set up a tripwire trap – exactly like the kidnapping checklist that appears when you’re standing next to the instrument case used for kidnapping.

Convenient, right?

“But, YandereDev, YandereDev! How is this any different from the bucket method? Isn’t it functionally the same thing?”

Nope! There is one very BIG difference that solves all of the problems of the bucket method:

Before you create the trap, you can pick up the water cooler and place it anywhere you want!

This way, you can create a trap practically anywhere, instead of being forced to create traps in doorways. This easily solves the problems described above, as long as you are smart about where you place the trap.

But, as you can tell by the title of this blog post, there is one other new feature that was added to the game today: a car battery.

You can now find a car battery inside the same storage room where the water cooler is located. If the car battery is dropped into a puddle of water, it will cause that puddle to become electrified for a brief moment. If any character is standing in that puddle of water when it becomes electrified, they will be electrocuted and die!

As you can tell by the “Toss” icon that appears when holding this new item, it’s possible to throw the car battery a short distance in front of yourself. This is to let the player place the car battery into a puddle without standing in it. (The protagonist will die if they are standing in a puddle when a car battery touches it.)

By the way, there are two more details I’d like to mention – and they can both be combined together in a particularly interesting way…

  1. When a water cooler sprays out its liquid, it creates three puddles in front of itself.
  2. If two puddles are touching each other, and a car battery is dropped into one of those puddles, the electricity will “jump” from one puddle to the next, electrifying all puddles that are touching.
Do you see where I’m going with this? Let’s revisit that screenshot at the very top of the blog post:

Notice something? Two sets of three puddles. That’s right; you can re-use the tripwire trap an infinite number of times, and it’ll create a set of three puddles each time.

This means that you could create a chain of 100 puddles, drop a car battery into a puddle on one side of the school, and electrocute a student on the opposite side of the school!

Sounds like something from a Looney Tunes cartoon, doesn’t it? It’s goofy, but if the player wipes out their rivals with this silly method, I’ll consider it to be perfectly valid, because it takes time, effort, and skill to arrange that many puddles in a row.

Hmm, I wonder who will be the first person to upload a YouTube video of an electrocution kill that involves a massive puddle chain…

I hope that you’re going to have fun with these two new features! Of course, these two features aren’t the only things that changed in the latest build. All of this stuff changed, too:

Fixes and Changes
  • Certain models are “stored” high in the air above the school. At certain times of day (noon) the sun would cause these models to cast a shadow down to the ground below, resulting in mysterious shadows sliding across the ground. This bug has been fixed.
  • From now on, if the player drops a dead body too close to the entrance of the boy’s locker room, the dead body will teleport in front of the locker room, to prevent a bug where the player would permanently lose the ability to move that body.
  • Added planters to the school rooftop, aligned with the way that doors open, to prevent situations where characters get stuck on doors when trying to pathfind around the rooftop. Also, rooftop doors can now only open outwards, not inwards.
  • Fixed bug that caused female students to walk around school wearing swimsuits if the “Pool’s Closed” sign was placed at the top of the pool stairs while the students were already wearing swimsuits.
  • If a character was squashed by a falling bookcase while holding an item in their hands, that item would not drop, meaning that the player could never retrieve it. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent the game from moving out of the “Choose excuse to give the counselor” phase of the sent-to-counselor sequence, if the player chose to not select any excuse.
  • Fixed bug that caused the police to incorrectly believe that a bloody uniform was present at school if the player washed blood off of a bloody swimsuit by taking a shower.
  • Fixed bug that caused Ryoba to adopt Ayano’s idle/walk animations if she was beaten up by delinquents and then rested in the school infirmary.
  • Fixed bug that caused the “Raibaru breaks Ayano’s arm” sequence to appear blurry if the player was playing with depth-of-field turned on.
  • From now on, any locker that contains a dead body will have an orange outline around it in Yandere Vision, instead of a cyan outline.
  • Fixed bug that would cause an item to become tiny if it was placed into a trash bin and then removed from the trash bin.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the game to forget that the player had collected the fundoshi panties from school.
  • Fixed bug that caused Ryoba to lose her unique face shape when she put on a martial arts gi in the Art Club.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the “KA-SHING!” sound effect from playing when Raibaru detected an incoming attack.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the player from being able to pick up a can of dropped paint from certain angles.
  • Fixed bug that caused Ryoba to lose her unique face shape when she put on an apron in the Art Club.
  • Fixed bug that would cause students to perform a “texting” animation on their cameras in 1989.
  • Updated the artwork for the bully girls on the official website.
One Last Thing
In addition to everything described above, one other new feature was added to the game today – but I’m not ready to officially announce it yet. It will get its own separate announcement, hopefully in the near future.

Certain models are “stored” high in the air above the school. At certain times of day (noon) the sun would cause these models to cast a shadow down to the ground below, resulting in mysterious shadows sliding across the ground. This bug has been fixed.

Surely there has got to be a better way to store unused models.

One of ex volunteers just posted this
For anyone who doesn't want to download that, it's a collection of discord screenshots and text documents for context/ex-volunteer's thoughts. I'll put a few of the text files in spoilers, but overall it falls into four categories: cameronf305 messaging magimoon (some involvement with Love Letter, the DrApeis attempt that blew up spectactularly), Alex being himself, razgrizthemaldorian and what happened there, and lastly a short bit about mulberry and how she essentially has battered wife syndrome (my summary, not theirs).
Well, first things first I guess I should introduce myself!

Hello, I'm princessdie, and my real name is Yan!
For context in this document, my username was kisp0p before
I'm a trans woman, and I turned 18 on the 11th of february 2022

This does seem like a lot of information to give out, but it's kinda necessary considering what's in this document

My first asset was added to the game on the 9th of october 2019, and over the time I became what dev described as a "go-to volunteer"
I'm the modeller behind Ayano, Ryoba and a lot more
Check "list of things I made for the game" to see all the things I wasted years of my life on

This document will talk about my experience as what would be a main volunteer, what made me choose to leave and highlights of dev's behaviour
I've had Dev blocked on discord since the 9th of January 2022, after having previously blocked him on the 29th of December 2021
We have shared a total of 6015 private messages since the 4th of December 2018, and my intention with this file is to say bye to this project

I will be talking about:
YandereDev, things he did, stole and his treatement of volunteers and moderators
Cameronf305, one of the other volunteers and what he did to magimoon and me
RazgrizTheMaldorian, the things he creeped me out with when I was a minor and what dev did to cover that up
and finally MulberryArt, which was difficult to write about but probably the right thing to do

I'm thankful for the assistance I got from several mods who showed me the contents of dev's mod-chat, the sooner this is finished the better I'll feel
Thank you for checking this out, hopefully it's clear enough

Bully phone screens (with magimoon)

Over the years, I was asked to fix skeletons and models that I have lost the count to, but there were a lot yeah
The way dev asks for assets is:
>find bunch of volunteers
>ask multiple of them for the same asset
>picking the one he likes the most
>assuring every volunteer in private that their assets were used

Dev most likely does this to have different assets to choose from, but..
After asking multiple people to work on the same thing, some talk to eachother and realise he asked them all
When an asset ISN'T used, that's hours of someone's life wasted
When an assets IS used, it causes tensions between other volunteers
If he were to just ask one volunteer with a specific ref drawn for the game, not taken from another game (bodybag2.png) or a porn site (bodybag1.png) that matched his request perfectly, this wouldn't be an issue
Instead he'd rather put up volunteers against eachother rather than together, I noticed this more when he started getting upset at the fact I'd rather volunteer for Mulberry and work for her than him

For new volunteers, or people wanting to become volunteers who are perfectly capable of making good assets, he'd wait for them to send them things, reject them or upset them, and when his main volunteers are unavailable, run to them
By this time, most of them will already be too pissed off to work for him or hate him
If he were to just send them a basic task not involving anything they could leak, then see how well they do on it, he'd have a much bigger army of volunteers
Instead, he'd rather waste everyone's time including his own just to not deal with talking to people trying to help him

Another thing he does with volunteers, is not give them any actual proper directions, then complain about the result, the difference he wants not being just a simple edit, often needing a full remake
Often, he gets so mad about volunteers not following directions he never gave, he starts spamming google images - clapped1.png
He feels "entitled" to do this, because describing an asset well the first time is "too much effort" and "a waste of time", so wasting someone else's time, to him, seems a better approach??

90% of his volunteers are under 18, he is aware of this and does nothing to confirm people's ages, including me at the time
Since Kjech (artist) and Qvajangel (modeller) left, I genuinely think Mulberry is the only adult working for him, everyone else has too much common sense

All I can say is I am not surprised that after my deprature over 7 main volunteers left the project
Let's start with something everyone's interested in: NEW CHARACTER MODELS

they're just glorified edits of the store-bought character model
yeah
great isn't it
7 years for a face edit that takes 5 minutes to make with the most basic skill-set possible
also I'm pretty sure the unity license from those character models specifies you cannot resell edits of them

He wasted both Druelbozo's time asking for a custom character model, and SexyUnicornKing's and SizeableMovie's on another one
Having seen the topology of SexyUnicornKing's and SizeableMovie's, I can't explain the effort that was put into that, it's far cleaner than the current base
picture of the model customcharactermodel1.png - I only found out recently it was requested by dev, for years I thought it was fanmade
Neither bases were used nor paid for, but he had access to more than 2 custom character models, instead opting for a lazy edit

Now I'll talk about things I've made that have been stolen by Dev or things he refused to credit
- 1980s mode "blue screen renders"
me and one of my friends had made a bunch of renders to replace the blue screen of dialog in 1980s mode
after I left, he posted them in front of everyone, asking people to dm him and make ripoffs of them for him
rendertheft1.png, rendertheft2.png
rendertheft3.png shows he never credited me and my friend for any of them, and has even been encouraging members to recreate my assets used in them
Dev also refused to credit that same friend for another 1980s render we made together crediting only me instead
- Assets
dev claimed the model of my old OC by removing her braid, recolouring her texture and removing my name from the texture
he also claimed other assets I made for 1980s mode by removing my name from them
he's going to need to understand removing my name from an asset I made doesn't make the asset his or allow him to ask other volunteers to trace it
(unfortunately I was asked to not show that off since they don't intend on leaving their place as a volunteer, but yeah, he has asked people to trace my stuff)
- Design
dev chose to not credit me for the design of ayano's cousin featured in the medibang video, crediting one of my friends who drew her to his request after I had modelled and designed her for him
I had to basically beg for him to write I was the designer which he ended up doing, but it happened far too late after the video had released so it was irrelevant

And finally I'll talk about things he has stolen by asking volunteers to trace
- the washing machine in the home ec room, it is a retextured store-bought model that I refused to do so it was sent to another volunteer
washingmachine1.png invalidates all the claims he makes of the game not having any store-bought models, as if the character models and Raibaru's design weren't bad enough
- the 1980s council is stolen from Fire Emblem
council1.png, council2.png, council3.png, council4.png
Mulberry had made over 15 sketches for potential hairs, dev used none and chose to steal the fire emblem guys, and when people called him out he asked someone else for new models acting clueless about it
(which lead people to accuse me and the other modellers who made them of stealing)
An unhealthy 33 year old with a brain fried by anime obviously isn't going to attract the best fanbase
Active members of his server include minors making pornography with my assets after being told not to ever do that, moderators breaking rules to express their fetishes to an audience of minors and so on

moderators drawing and posting incest porn in art cha
t, then banning me for saying it's disgusting to force people to see that stuff
community2.png, community3.png

members (all of which are under 18) posting porn they made with my assets
community4.png, community5.png, community6.png, community8.png and community7.png specifically being rape (40 year old x high school student)

community1.png shows the sort of things the mods now allow on the server after my departure, actual jokes about my eating disorder
I guess this is just about everything, I'm sure I forgot a few things here and there, but after spending a month writing about this petty shit enough is enough
I'm unsure if I will be answering questions after posting this, or if I'll even stay, all I know is I will not step foot near that lost cause ever again

I have one final note

YandereDev has claimed he has the intention of replacing my models *after* the crowdfunding campaign.. Ahaaaaaa, no
I don't want him making money off me, or to see my assets getting traced or copied, so I have left a list of everything I've made for the game in this document
All of it needs to be replaced before the crowdfunding campaign, it's not happening anytime soon so he has plenty of time, actions have consequences
Anything I've designed has to be redesigned completely, everything I've modelled needs to be replaced with original, not traced models
And don't try to just give them new textures because I know you do this, having asked me to do it to others before

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read everything, I know it was a mess in every way possible but at least it's out of my life
Take care xx

- Yan
There's more, but I've only taken a brief glance through it thus far. Lots of screenshots to go through.
Edit: Bolded some stuff that is interesting/confirms suspicions, and r/Osana was fucking right.

Surely there has got to be a better way to store unused models.
If I remember, the best methods are ether it be stored way out of bounds where the player normally can't see or the game doesn't render in terms of it's distances and thus, can be safely placed back in if needed without tanking performance, or simply unloaded until it's called back in to fulfill it's duties.

I am surprised that this was the 4th line in an introduction and not the first.

The way dev asks for assets is:
Nothing new, he made volunteers compete since day one, because "WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A VIDEOGAME WITH ARTWORK THAT LOOKS LIKE THIS".

This one is interesting. Didn't Kjech do something for Alex before 80s mode release?

Active members of his server include minors making pornography with my assets after being told not to ever do that, moderators breaking rules to express their fetishes to an audience of minors and so on
Welp, if my dive into people surrounding Alex wasn't enough. It's a catastrophe in the making.

If the topic of Sisefs is ignored/comes up, Alex says "eh, it's a troll, I dindu noffin" and that guy is ok with it, I see no point in watching this.

A car battery isn't going to electrocute anyone any more than a handful of AAA batteries, and a trapped watercooler spraying out because of a little hole with masking tape isnt going to do anything. How does he come up with crap? This is his "it has to be logical"?

If the topic of Sisefs is ignored/comes up, Alex says "eh, it's a troll, I dindu noffin" and that guy is ok with it, I see no point in watching this.
The topic isn't brought up and the screencaps in Diesel's video were taken between the end of July and the middle of August last year. Unless I'm wrong, I don't see any indication that he's aware of it. Still, you're missing out since it showcases another one of Alex's spergouts.

Diesel mentions Kiwi Farms (as well as the term lolcow) and 4chan in regards to "cutting through all the bullshit and going to the source." He says that he's trying to be neutral and does get sympathetic towards Alex or seems to pity him towards the end with the whole "Alex was just a young, homeschooled, lonely and isolated guy trying to find love and companionship in the wrong places" shit, but 75% of the video overall was negative. Summary of what happened according to him:

Since Alex was keeping his mouth shut and Diesel couldn't contact him, Diesel went to Twitter to start up a movement to get in contact with him. Ever so coincidentally, his previous video on Alex that was supposedly not that bad was manually flagged. Alex's retarded fans attacked Diesel because Alex is a perfect little angel who can do no wrong, but Diesel kept trying despite this.

Cameron, the composer for the game, then reached out to Diesel. Diesel was worried since he heard rumors that Cameron was a clout chaser and questioning why the hell Cameron would risk getting on Alex's shit list. Cameron didn't trust Diesel at first due to his videos on Alex, but that trust was gained after they spoke "off the record." Cameron agreed to let Diesel interview Alex, but there had to be concessions in that Alex would have to see the questions in advance and can toss the ones he didn't like. Since Diesel needed to gain Alex's trust, he agreed to the concessions (and more stuff of his own accord like removing Alex's face from thumbnails) and was soon in a group chat with him and Cameron on Discord to discuss the interview.
Screenshot_3.png
Screenshot_4.png
Screenshot_5.png
Alex took a long time to write his messages, as Diesel could see the "YandereDev is typing..." indicator, and worded everything carefully while also being curt. Tensions were high. While this was happening, Diesel was continuously speaking to Kappa Kaiju since he could read between the lines in Alex's responses. Alex likely just skimmed Diesel's video titles and thumbnails instead of watching them, resulting in Alex coming across as uninterested. Alex then began asking Diesel questions and it was at this point when things took a turn.
Screenshot_1.png
Diesel was like "wtf," but swallowed his pride, something he would have to do a lot here. He tried to get Alex to actually watch his videos, but it goes nowhere. Regardless, the planning for the interview seemed to be going smoothly.

Diesel wrote his questions and he got some answers, but the mood quickly shifts as Alex posts this massive wall of text, attacking Diesel's character and comparing him to criminals and psychopaths for making commentary videos on people.

Diesel naturally gets pissed and snaps at him. Alex, for his part, claims he didn't say any insults.

Despite this, Diesel didn't leave the group chat since he was still clinging onto hope for the interview to happen and Cameron, who is also still on-board with the interview, called him to try to smooth things over with the two. Alex and Diesel then apologize to each other and began to speak over voice chat, which was "off the record" again.

Things supposedly get more positive at this point in Diesel's video. According to him, they spoke about their lives and Alex mentioned that Yandere Simulator was his life's work and he wouldn't know what to do if it didn't turn out amazing, compared that to how Diesel felt about his Youtube channel and met in the middle as artists. Diesel then tried to get Alex to open up and claims that he was soft-spoken, quiet, meek, and sounded tired. He would leave things open-ended, wouldn't really respond, and didn't know how to discuss much.

At some point, Alex, Diesel, and Cameron get on the topic of Nikocado Avocado.

The remaining three screencaps is them discussing the interview in text chat after they made up. Of course, this being around half a year later, this didn't end up going anywhere.

We knew this a year ago from FPS Diesel's Twitter account - first Alex sperged out at him, then his favorite simp Cameron tried to act as an arbiter in their conversation and... Nothing. He didn't mention it for months and I honestly thought that he decided that it wasn't worth it. Alex being incredibly paranoid and having 0 social skills is nothing new. Also, any "interview" where Alex is the one who controls the narrative isn't worth anyone's time, since anyone can read all that in "No, I'm not" section of his website.

@Activelo thank you for your breakdown, but the only chuckle I've had from this is Alex claiming that he cares about YS, when he openly stated that he loves Lunar Scythe more.
