Like, nigger, bust out the 3d package and start learning to model. He could be making his own 3d shit by now.
Good morning!

I am not even going to remind you what type of volunteer he bitched about the most in YS threads on 4chan, from the sole existence of this thread it should be obvious that the guy never learns.

not 3d animation
Of course, since the only reason why he chose that course was because otherwise he would have to kill his parents in their sleep muh games, like he stated here. Not only he had 3d animation basics, but 2D too. At the very least, now SMC has a course specifically called '2D/3D animation'. He also had some math and programming basics. Which begs the question why he can't draw, model, animate and, of course, code for shit after all that time? Guess, he is indeed a special boy.

I always thought that was like Adobe Premiere and After Effects
Can't say he is good at editing either after years of making videos.

April 7 bug fixing build (archive)
Whoops! There was an oversight in the previous build that was probably going to confuse new players, so I’m releasing an update ahead of schedule to fix that issue.

Speaking of new players…as I’ve mentioned before, it’s extremely valuable to watch a new player experience the game for the first time, since it allows me to discover what parts of the game are confusing or frustrating for newcomers. Recently, a YouTuber named Mikeeey played Yandere Sim for the first time, which provided me with a lot of insight into what areas of the game can be adjusted in order to make a first-time player’s experience a bit more smooth. A lot of the adjustments that were made to the game in this build were actually the result of me seeing something janky happening in Mikeeey’s video and then thinking, “Yikes, I need to fix that!”

I thought that his video was hilarious, and if you’re interested, you can check it out below:

Improvements
  • Info-chan’s “Hint Available” will no longer appear for the first event of the day (Senpai’s interaction with Osana). The player doesn’t need to see a hint for something that is in their immediate cone of vision, new players can get confused by hint pop-ups appearing within 1 second of gameplay beginning, and the hint pop-up interferes with players who need to pause the game at the start of the day for any reason.
  • For years, Taro’s “Student Info” portrait was always Taro’s default appearance, instead of the appearance that the player had actually chosen for him. This confused new players. From now on, the screenshot of Taro that appears in the Student Info screen will reflect Taro’s actual appearance, instead of his default appearance.
  • If the player got into a physical altercation with Raibaru while next to a wall, the camera could potentially clip into the wall during Raibaru’s takedown animation. From now on, move away from the nearest wall under those circumstances, so that this is no longer a possibility.
  • From now on, the date of the current build will be visible from the “Choose Your Resolution” screen, so that you can tell whether or not you’re on the latest build immediately instead of having to load all the way into the school to find out.
  • If the player got into a physical altercation with Raibaru while Osana was nearby, the camera could potentially clip into Osana. From now on, Osana will scoot back if that’s happening, so that this is no longer a possibility.
  • Previously, the text describing Mina Rai’s task didn’t mention the fact that the muddy shoeprints in the east Zen Garden are located inside of the tea house, specifically. That text has been adjusted.
  • From now on, if the player attempts to purchase something from Info-chan and doesn’t have enough Info Points, the “HOW TO EARN INFO POINTS” prompt will have flashing red arrows around it.
  • The “That Dude” easter egg (type the letters t-h-a-t-d-u-d-e while at school) is now functional again (the nurse gets a more curvy body). Works in both 202X Mode and 1980s Mode.
  • Chigusa, the “gravure model” rival from 1980s Mode, now actually does “modeling” poses during her photoshoot, instead of cycling between a bunch of idle animations.
  • Improved one of the animations in the 202X opening cutscene; the “Ayano is sitting in her room, looking out the window, looking sad” animation.
  • Replaced the 3D model for the “haunted piano” with a superior one.
  • Previously, if the player dismembered a corpse behind the “mythical cherry tree” behind the school, blood would spawn underneath the ground, where the player would not be able to mop it up. This bug has been “fixed.” And, by “fixed,” I mean that blood no longer spawns anywhere in the vicinity of the cherry tree. Dismember someone past the running track, and you won’t have to clean up any blood. I guess this is kind of an exploit, but, oh well, it’ll just have to remain that way for now; currently, Yandere Sim is not capable of spawning pools of blood on top of non-flat surfaces. Well, technically, there actually IS a lore reason why any blood spilled in the vicinity of the cherry tree would – ooooops, almost said too much…
  • I put an invisible barrier near one of the rooftop air conditioners to fix a bug. Unfortunately, this resulted in a secondary bug – it became impossible for the player to get close enough to Osana/Raibaru’s conversation to eavesdrop on Osana’s words and obtain her “Dark Secret” information. To fix this, I have expanded the “player can overhear what words are being spoken in a private conversation” radius, and also replaced the invisible barrier with a physical object that makes more sense to be located next to the air conditioner.
  • Previously, during the Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki minigame, if the player got hit by an enemy bullet during the final boss’ death animation, the player would get a “GAME OVER” and “STAGE COMPLETE” simultaneously. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player ordered a bottle of poison from Info-chan (emetic, lethal, sedative, or headache) and the bottle landed upside-down, the player wouldn’t be able to pick up the item. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that made it possible for the player to get caught by a student council member for misbehavior in the split-second between being noticed by Raibaru and being grabbed by Raibaru.
  • There were a couple of voice lines where a teacher would erroneously call Akademi a “high school.” These voice lines have been adjusted to no longer refer to Akademi as a “high school.”
  • If Osana was alarmed by anything while on her way to her Monday morning event, the event would not end, and Osana/Raibaru’s voice lines would play. This bug has been fixed.
  • If Raibaru and 3 other students witnessed Ayano commit murder, Raibaru would try to join in on the group takedown, but would fail. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that caused Ritsuko (1980s Mode rich girl rival) to clip into the bench that she sat on while reading a book on Tuesday.
I made some adjustments to something that is normally hidden from the player. Because it’s meant to be an easter egg, I’m not going to tell you exactly how to access it. Instead, I’ll just say that…

  1. You haven’t spoken to her in a long time.
  2. 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 69, and 666 will show you things you’ve already seen. Anything else will show you a new conversation.
  3. She misses you, and wants to give you a little hug.
  4. If you type her favorite word 10 times, she will come visit you at school.
  5. I’ve always had plans for her that go beyond her current implementation. Maybe one day I’ll work on that, but for now, it’s just not the highest priority.

What's the liklihood of getting new players though? (Who aren't minors) Yandere Sim could have made a killing if he finished it when it was actually popular. Now, despite having much more content, the game is so steeped in the controversies of Alex's shit, that any Breadtuber worth their salt isn't going to bother picking it up. His reputation is shot, and therefore Yansim's is too.

What's the liklihood of getting new players though? (Who aren't minors)
I'd say probably fairly low. Any youtuber/streamer of note won't touch the game so the minors are probably spreading it via mostly word of mouth and anyone older can actually download it, give it a test run and think "Wow, this really isn't very good" and free up the disk space.

I'm quite disappointed that when you do a Google search for Yandere Simulator the answer to the top questions isn't an immediate "FUCK NO".

What's the liklihood of getting new players though?
There is precisely zero chance Alex will ever get any adult players who aren’t autistic or mentally ill.

While YS at its very core is a fun concept, the actual execution of that concept is so shit any normal adult would drop it after playing for a few hours at most. The game is not fun and mostly incomprehensible for people who haven’t been keeping up with Alex’s countless videos explaining mechanics and lore. And, like you mentioned, Alex’s many controversies are a massive red flag for people who can think rationally and form their own opinion, unlike the children and edgy teens that currently make up his fanbase.

The only normal adults I can see playing this are reviewers and people making fun of Alex’s dogshit coding. And no, I'm not counting weeboos as "normal adults".

April 15 update (archive)
Hello! New build, new improvements, new bug fixes, more tasks crossed off my checklist.

To see a list of everything that changed in the latest build, scroll down past this striking illustration of Ayano by Kissennran!

Generic Task Overhaul
In 1980s Mode, over 70 students all shared the same Task – “Go to the Library and complete an assignment for me.” That was super lame. So, from now on, instead of one task, there are ten different tasks that the students of 1980s Mode can offer you. Each task follows the same basic formula as the “complete an assignment” task:

  1. Go to location
  2. Perform action
  3. Return to student
The ten tasks of 1980s Mode are:

  1. Go to Library, complete an assignment for a student.
  2. Go to Home Ec room, prepare a meal for a student.
  3. Go to Sewing Room, sew a scarf for a student.
  4. Go to Infirmary, get some headache pills for a student.
  5. Go to Cafeteria, buy a drink for a student.
  6. Go to Workshop, repair a broken toy for a student’s younger sibling.
  7. Go to Student Council room, retrieve a magazine that was confiscated from a student.
  8. Go to Art Room, improve a painting for a student.
  9. Go to Computer Lab, print copies of a flyer for a student’s friend.
  10. Go outside, get a flower for a student.
Some additional information:

  1. Previously, if you accepted the “complete an assignment for me” task, you would have to complete the assignment and turn it in before doing it for another student, even if two students wanted you to complete two separate assignments. That is no longer the case. From now on, if two students want you to do something (like prepare a meal) you can prepare two meals back-to-back, instead of being limited to only one preparing meal until you’ve turned in the quest.
  2. None of the new tasks currently have voice acting. Also, the icons that represent these tasks are currently placeholder. I’d love fix this in the future, but it depends entirely on volunteer availability.
  3. Each of these tasks (except the “buy a drink” one) involves a short, 5-second animation.
  4. Most of the short animations do not involve any kind of visuals representing the object that Ryoba is creating/obtaining/repairing. If this is upsetting or disappointing, then visuals can be created in the future, but it seems like a low priority issue, so I hope that people can tolerate it the way that it is…at least until after the crowdfunding campaign.
  5. The “improve a painting” task is the only exception. You’ll actually see the original painting and watch it transform into a “better” painting.
There’s a small part of me which thinks that each of the 5-second animations should be a super-short minigame where the player just has to hit 3 buttons within a time limit, or something insanely simple like that, so that there is actual interaction and gameplay happening. However, I’ll only spend time adding that to the game if players express that they feel that it’s significant enough to warrant my development time.

Currently, the rivals of 1980s Mode are still sharing the “Complete a school assignment for me” Task. This is because I plan to update the game with a bunch of unique tasks for all 1980s Mode rivals, and I want to “bundle” that improvement with several of other rival-centric improvements, so that I can release a “Big 1980s Mode Rival Overhaul” update that has a bunch of different adjustments to 1980s Mode that I honestly believe will warrant you replaying the game to experience all of the differences and changes.

Improvements
  • The “Extras” part of the Main Menu now brings the player to a screen with actual functionality. In short, it’s a menu that allows people to visit certain YouTube videos. For example, the “Lore Videos” menu links to videos that provide backstory/lore that isn’t offered within the game itself.
  • Students’ lips now move during their Task dialogue. However, the lip sync is current imperfect. It’ll be improved in the future, so please don’t judge it too harshly just yet.
  • Previously, the contents of all students’ bento boxes were identical. As of now, there are 4 different “variations” of food that can be found inside of a student’s bento box.
  • Ayano will now undo her ponytail when she changes into a towel, and switch back to a ponytail when she puts any outfit back on.
  • Students’ smartphones now have social media on their screens, instead of being blank empty screens.
  • Replaced the textures for the bento boxes that students eat out of and the food contained within.
  • Replaced the 3D models for the cat accessories that Osana’s suitor can give to Osana.
  • Shima Shiya now has voice lines for her Task dialogue.
  • Previously, if a student council member pushed the protagonist while the she was walking around with a water cooler, the water cooler would be dropped and clip into the student council member, leading to bugs. To fix this issue, the protagonist will no longer drop the water cooler if she is carrying one while pushed by a student council member.
  • If the player attempted a Mission Mode mission that required the player to dispose of the target in a vat of acid, and the player chopped up the victim into pieces before disposing of their corpse in the acid vat, the game would not acknowledge that the player had disposed of the target correctly. This bug has been fixed.
  • Previously, students were willing to run to the Matchmaking spot even if they were currently in a swimsuit. This was unintentional; I intended for students to reject the Matchmaking attempt if they were in a swimsuit at the time. This oversight has been fixed.
  • If the player spoke to a character while standing too close to two other character that were having a private conversation, the player would get in trouble for eavesdropping. This was unintentional and an oversight, and has been fixed.
  • During Osana’s confession cutscene, she is supposed to start crying after Taro accepts or rejects her confession. However, due to a bug, she was already crying at the start of the cutscene. This bug has been fixed.
  • Characters were able to perform the “waving at friend” animation while sunbathing and while mourning a dead loved one, which looked weird. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Sumiko (4th 1980s Mode rival) to perform her walking animation at running speed at the end of the day.
  • The “china dress” easter egg – accessed from the “meme closer” – was not functioning. Oops! This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed typos in the Scheme descriptions in the “Ayano plans her next murder in front of her corkboard” screen.
  • Previously, students held their smartphones in their hands in a very awkward way. This has been fixed.
  • The three sinks in the outdoor cafeteria were untextured. Oops! This has been fixed.
  • Fixed incorrect text on the “How To Play” screen for Yanvania: Senpai of the Night.
  • Fixed a typo in one of the 1980s Mode students’ profiles.
  • “Acetic Acid” was misspelled. The typo has been fixed.

April 16 bug fixing build (archive)

Oh, yeah, and also, Mikeeey continued his playthrough of Yandere Simulator! Check it out!

Improvements
  • If two subtitles appear onscreen simultaneously (such as the subtitles for a conversation between Senpai and a rival, and the subtitles for a conversation that the player is trying to have with a student), the “event” subtitles will move out of the way so that the two subtitles onscreen are not overlapping.
  • Previously, if the player toggled the “Censor Blood” option during gameplay, any blood pools that were present at school at the time would not update to become censored/uncensored. From now on, currently-existing blood pools will update whenever the player toggles that option.
  • If the player picked up the bottle of lethal poison in the Science Lab and then reset the week, the poison bottle would be missing, even though the player had returned to a point in time when it should be available. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Osana and Musume to lock in place if Musume’s “talk with Osana” event began at the same time as Osana was attempting to travel to her locker to check for a note.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the “Pass Time” minigame from increasing the player’s score for passing the first obstacle.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the game to softlock if the player attempted to speak with a bully girl about her task.
  • Fixed bug that would cause students to take out smartphones in 1989 if they heard the sound of a radio.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the Task List screen to display incorrect information for a student’s task.
  • Fixed typo in the Mission Mode “reason why you got a game over” for a security camera game over.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Ayano’s “hair down” hairstyle to turn invisible upon a game over.
  • Fixed problems with the new bento 3D model.

crosspost from the JonTron thread, this is a comment he made in a new JonTron episode. The last show featured involves a guy going to women's houses and sniffing their panties, which sounds more like an ideal date for Alex
There's also a post from nearly a year ago, where Alex is e-begging for a chicken bone that JonTron choked on at one point. Since when was Alex into JT?

I see the if-then syntax is back again, and it looks like until the game is finished in ... 2100 ... it probably will always remain that way. But then again, this is Alex.

From now on, the date of the current build will be visible from the “Choose Your Resolution” screen, so that you can tell whether or not you’re on the latest build immediately instead of having to load all the way into the school to find out.
I refuse to believe that it took nine years to think, "Hmm, maybe someone wants to see what the latest build number is!" I just cannot believe it took him this long to think about implementing that sort of feature. It seems like a total no-brainer. But then again, this is Alex.

I’ve always had plans for her that go beyond her current implementation. Maybe one day I’ll work on that, but for now, it’s just not the highest priority.
:story: LMAO. Dude, your main game isn't finished yet and you're still adding shit to Fun Girl on the side? I want to say I'm surprised. But then again, this is Alex.

Is this a sign that Yandev will troon out soon?
Let's take a wild guess on his troon name. Hmm... how about Alexander Stuart Mahan becoming Alexandra Sarah Mahan, or something? I don't know. I don't think he'd troon out unless the crowdfunding campaign (which will be launched in approximately never) fails. But then again, this is Alex(a)?

i adore watching videos criticizing the game design of yandev, especially if it involves comparing its failings to how it's done succesfully in hitman. i think ive watched them all but if anyone has anymore theyve seen recently link me those

Sorry, but I just don't think anybody is interested in yansim enough these days to make analysis videos about it. It's been done a lot already, and everyone knows that the game ain't ever getting finished, so even the drama-chasers have given up on Alex's low-hanging fruit.
