I've prowled through, I kid you not, ALL of the 300+ pages of this thread in the span of a week - read through the stream chat screenshots and all that 'slurp', the way he used assets without permission, and I even read through the advice given by the programmers here regarding the destruction that was (and still is, apparently) his code. And to think, before I stumbled into this rabbit hole that is Alex's past, just last week I was literally looking forward to the next bi-weekly YanSim update video (and the subsequent YanSim myth video by Kubz Scouts; to me, that series and his Hello Neighbour series are the more entertaining vids on his channel). Makes me rethink about everything I 'know' about YandereDev - never once have I wondered whether he was under a different handle in the past; in fact, I just didn't think to wonder at all. This thread opened my eyes indeed. Also I used to think that his voice was calming; now it just seem...eerie.
It amazes me, however, that although he's a bad programmer, he has a way with words. I never read his fics, but from his videos and online replies to his fans, especially regarding the backstories of the YanSim universe, he just sounds...convincing. Like a salesman, maybe? He sounds like one of my friends, who can and will bullshit his way out of anything when required.
Somehow, I can't find it in me to truly dislike Alex - sure, I disapprove of his actions described in this thread, but I feel like an outsider looking in, since I don't know him personally nor have I ever made contact with him.
