Let's be real here, Alex doesn't give a shit whose mad at him, in his mind he can do no wrong.
He won't quit because he's making bank. People are already mad at him, and its only getting worse, he makes it seem like he's sacrificing himself for an altruistic purpose. Its more of the same "whoa is me" bullshit.

He could have very easily stepped down when the new programming volunteer got involved, he chose not to. He doesn't want to give up his creative control (although at this point he really should've, nothing he's added recently makes any sense), he doesn't want to step down into a more suitable creative consultant role, because its all about him, this "me! Me! ME!" bullshit is gonna be his downfall

What especially bothers me is the combat having no place in a game where the MC loses to 1/2 of the roster when detected.

Heck, this feature has no conceptual uses too since the matchmaking and reputation routes don’t involve delinquents at all and the “mysterious obstacle” can’t even be fought.

Not even half, all Ayano has to do is joins the martial arts club she automatically auto wins heroic sstudents and teachers leaving only the cellphone bullies as timed threats and pepper spray girls as invincible threats. I've said here before but Yansim has very retarded "threat levels" because Alex only cares about adding more features instead of making a well designed game.

But as you said, it adds absolutely nothing to the game. The delinquents were originally made as invincible guards for the incinerator but now they're just normal students who can fight back. So what do they serve now? Uhh i don know just because "it's cool" i guess? It's another non-progress update the fandom will love anyways.

Alex is trying to add another deep piece of lore with this trailer, and I think that he is trying to tell us that the Delinquents are Nazis.
Don't believe me? Just look at the following:

1: All of the delinquents in the actual gameplay portion of the trailer, as well as Osoro, having blonde hair, the ideal hair color of the Aryan Race.
2: Speaking of Osoro, she is the leader of the delinquents, is female, and clearly does not fit in with the rest of the male delinquents. This symbolizes how Hitler himself lacked many of the qualities that Aryans were supposed to have (Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes, German Heritage (He was Austrian)). Its obvious he planned to do this with Osoro ahead of time, just like how he planned Megami to perfectly fit in with the rest of the Student Council.
3: The Primary Colors of the Thumbnail are Red and Black, two of the three colors featured on the Nazi Flag
4: The Video is 1 minute 45 seconds long, and Hitler was born in 1889 to his 2 Parents. Now let's do some math
1*60+45 = 107 seconds
18 + 89 + 2 = 107
This might seem like I'm nitpicking, but it seems like Alex was intentionally trying to reach this video length. I mean how else are you going to explain the completely unnecessary black background with nothing on it in the last 10 seconds and no audio in the last 5 seconds? Bad video editing? Of course not!
5: I left the most damning piece of evidence of the delinquents being Nazis for last! Between 0:40 and 0:47 of the trailer, you can see the delinquents walking in a straight line down the halls. What I find very interesting is that one of the delinquents isn't actually walking in the line, but is to the right. I think this is supposed to symbolize the far-right views of the Nazi Party. I mean why else would one delinquent be walking outside of the line? Bad pathfinding? Of course not, we all know Alex makes the most lacking of quality code ever.

Meh. I think it's for dramatic effect.

It is, but it's garbage cause it doesn't sell any sense of power or speed. If you remove the flash and shaky camera it becomes pretty obvious how "visually slow" (speed is constant through the whole animation) and limp the hits actually are. The slow motion before the hit only serves to slow down and make it look worse.

Alex once suggested his combat idea came from playing Yakuza, so i think his animations were "inspired" by Yakuza heat moves, except those are fucking awesome and brutal.

Of course, it's not fair to compare an unpaid volunteer animation to a professional studio, but with proper visual/sound effects and camera angles, anyone can make a mediocre animation look decent. That's why every action movie uses camera tricks.

For example, in the bat animation i would suggest to change the flash with a blood splatter and quick focus the camera on Ayano's face (who actually gets bruised btw). That would actually look violent instead of "videogamey".

Its funny how many random things you can do in the game without actually playing a game, i keep seeing every person that plays yandere simulator, running for 30 min like a dumbass, trying to do something fun that doesn't exist in the game, then doing some random actions like picking a knife and taking pictures, then killing some students then failing the quicktime events because it was too fast and broken to react or they didnt expect it and get busted, and repeat the routine.
