Look how other devs making Yansim-like games can get more done and explain it faster and less redundant than Alex, it's almost pathetic how he looks and sounds in comparison.

This times 100.
I was going to ask how tf Alex was so stupid as to forget lockdowns are a thing but then I remembered his bitch as is home schooled. Jesus fuck though lockdowns would have so much potential in his shit game, so would all the Japanese natural disaster drills every so often would be pretty great! Teach the kids what to do in an emergency and have the yandere memorize and use it to their advantage.

I can't get over how much of a wasted potential this has been.

Is any of those so-called """"fan-games"""" reached a near-completion status? Without that Alex won't feel any pressure to actually work and YS fans won't pay any attention to them.

"Watashi no mono" looks a lot more complete than Yandere Simulator. It still looks incomplete, but if you compare the two, Watashi no mono definitely looks more complete. Just take into account that Yandere Simulator has been in development for 5 years, and Watashi no mono has only been development for around 2.

So in other words, the genre's cursed. There will never be an anime schoolgirl Hitman with social elements.

Even Alex's Patreon dropped a lot, showing people giving up on the concept; it hasn't been that low since April 2015 – and it'll probably drop in few days even more when the next month starts and payments hit the sponsors.

I love how the student reaction to blood took the project RY dev 45 minutes and it took Alex 4 years to add it in to YS

Is Danganronpa close enough? One of the games even has a serial killer yandere.

In regards to the genre in general, I suggest everyone check out The Escapists for an example of what YS would be like if the mechanical part was competently implemented and actually fun. It's a prison escape simulator and has improvised weapons/murder/body hiding/guards/police and all sorts of similar fun stuff that actually works the way you'd expect it to. Unlike YS, it's actually been released and can be had for 3$ with all the DLC during steam sales.

Alex finally got off his ass and updated the game.
After getting tired of ripping off Hitman, our boi now turns to an all-time classic, Eternal Darkness.
His attempts at ripping off the Sanity Effects include desaturation and a smudge filter over the game when at low sanity. I mean, really...?

Jay's new video is an absolute embarrassment to this new update. I've never seen a build more buggy than this. I'll be surprised if Yandere-Dev doesn't get mad at Jay for exposing how broken this game is; but good job Alex! Way to prove all of us wrong and fail at adding some simple sanity mechanics

I have no faith that anyone can successfully make a game like Yandere Simulator. The concept is either cursed or everyone attempting to make it just happen to be incompetent. You're either making it to spite Alex, or you want to revive a game concept that just can't be saved.
I think it's a combination of the two. Only an incompetent sexually frustrated sped would ever attempt to make a game such as this, so it's doomed to be stillborn.

Ugh this update is a big yikes where to even begin. Alex has a really REALLY bad habit of adding in everything that pops into his head without even considering the kinds of issues it could cause

The sanity meter has served little to no purpose in the game and honestly could just be scrapped all together as it has no weight or baring on the overall game but on top of that this new update doesnt correct this issue at all all it did was break what was already broken

Im sure he thought it sounded cool on paper but actually seeing it all is a huge cluster fuck random sillouhettes appearing cluttering your screen what little of it there is left thanks to the terrible border around it plus the buggy animations it was so unnecessary

IMO: While it was a good idea it was poorly exicuted. (I know he reads here) rather than it getting in the way it should be on a seprate screen like the reactions from student councle used to be, Keep the shadow faces but fix the intrusive thoughts. The "seeing red" thing with the shadows can work for this kind of game in Snap mode if he ever adds that. Hell have it enter snap mode once sanity drops to 20% but any lower you can't get out of snap mode.

Well, the concept is just weird. We have an American creating a game which takes place in a Japanese high school (or, at least, an amalgamation of anime portrayals of Japanese high schools) featuring a student murdering people to get her crush to love her. There have been dating sims and there have been games about stealthily killing people, but combining them is… novel in an uninspiring way. Sometimes I think that (in my abundance of free time) I'd like to make yet another Yandere Sim clone just to see how much better I could execute the idea than hack coder Alex, but then I remember just how dumb the idea is and immediately drop it. I'd rather make a more straight-up Hitman clone that doesn't take place in a Japanese high school pastiche. Hell, I'd rather make a straight-up dating sim (that, again, doesn't take place in a high school).

good job eva. keep up the good work.
