I may be :late: on this, but holy shit. Before it was DMCA'd, I checked the StudentScript.cs code on Github, it's 17,000 lines long and there are no save states anywhere.
It's the sunk cost fallacy, though. There's no way in hell that Alex can fix his code when he's spent so much time making it.
If the entire code is running in the Update method, that's 17,000 lines of code raping the CPU every frame. No wonder the game runs like shit.

Honestly why would you even do that? I know that deep down a lot of us want to see the game succeed in some way, but there's honestly nothing to salvage unless you completely change it. So my opinion is to realize that sometimes things are beyond unsalvageable, and instead of having it become a vegetable just pull the plug and let it die.

To be quite honest, I don't care about the game with this kind of approach. If it was some light hearted parody of anime tropes and cliches, maybe I would give it a try, but as "school where NOT children kill other NOT children that have 0 personality and it is serious business, man", no, thanks.

Also, I have one question, which was probably asked, so I'm sorry in advance. The protagonist's model is from Unity store and Alex has stated multiple times that these are just placeholders, so when game is in it's final stages, he will replace them with real high quality models. The problem is that he already uses that model in arts for the game, in merchandise, etc. So when the game is ready (yeah, I know, theoretically), does that mean that this merchandise is going to become outdated?

The merchandise isn't already outdated? It's been a few years since some of it was released. When he changes the character models, he'll need to reprint all of the merchandise. Or not, because no company with an ounce of self respect would sell it.

W.D. Gaster from Undertale actually worked because it was part of the game's lore. Fun Girl is a shitty Gaster ripoff who was only programmed because Alex got salty that some dataminers and modders did more work on Osana than he did.

You know what really gets me since the day when he uploaded Hate and Shame? He is so adamant that he isn't like those "laughable spectacles" (which were DSP and Chris, just to remind you), but he said that in a video the point of which is basically "there are bunch of well organized people who want to ruin me just for the fun of it, while I did nothing wrong".
Yeah, "Look, I'm not like DSP with his detractors and Chris with Clyde Cash and co, I'm not, ok, BUT THOSE FUCKING GREMLINS...", seems legit.

This is why you shouldn't shit on young artists (or hell, any artist), they're constantly improving and honing their skills. Alex could have privately told this kid "I appreciate your passion, but it's just not the style I'm going for. Keep it up and keep improving!" but instead he publicly humiliated them and was an asshole.
