5-in-the-morning-rant ahead
We all know how tumblrites are the first to reinforce stereotypes (women has short haircut? lesbian! wears a flannel shirt? lesbian! is strong and muscular? ~uwu precious baby lesbian that is also probably trans), but had anyone encountered these odd, completely arbitrary cliches they develop based on either nothing or something real flimsy?

I am talking how about a woman who is called an "adventurer" is 100% confirmed leetsbian guyze, cause apparently such an euphemism existed back in like victorian era (and which no-one cares about), or how maining certain characters/having moles on specific body parts/other unrelated things are THE TELLING SIGNS OF TEH LEZ.

I also saw a set of cliches like that "point out" asexuality - apparently, if a character is said to like dragons, they are ace, no exceptions. I wonder what dragon furries have to say about that.
 
They've certainly gone headlong for the whole "Sharp-dressed woman radiates ultra lesbienne energy," cliche, even if it isn't a butch woman.

ever since these people discovered the concept of "compulsory heterosexuality" they apply it to every bi and straight female character

i also love the part where they imply that her not knowing if shes allowed to like a guy, until shes told its ok, is somehow proof that shes secretly gay. despite the fact that it reads exactly like her thinking shes a lesbian and not knowing how to accept the fact that shes bi- something a lot of teens [ :powerlevel: including me] went thru, cause theyre raised in an environment where being gay is fine, but being bi is still considered off and are told 'u can either be gay or straight, not both'
