If there just aren’t enough guys to go around and most of those guys are boring standard love interest type without personality, it just natural to end up shipping lesbian couples and many MLP versions have very few if any male ponies. It came off like that since the one canonical pairing that was involved (Cadance/Shining Armor) was broken up in their alternate setting, and they really severely disliked heterosexual pairings, and got uncomfortable if anyone asked about them. It's hard not to do that in MLP though to be fair, since there's... maybe a dozen named guys in the show or something?

For love of... I have nothing against that Anne Frank might have been bi but I do have intense dislike to this idea that she was more important because of that. I’m not the biggest fan of idea of representation as sets works entertainment up to fail. If you find comfort in seeing characters that looks like you, having same sexuality or other issue you are dealing with, great but that should be just sprinkles on an ice cream, a nice extra. Funnier comedy, cuter romance or cooler action movie is going to win over people having same surface traits. Also Anne Frank did not get killed because of her identity, she was killed because nazis had a huge hate boner towards jews (among other things) and unfortunately for Anne her parents were jews.

Also funny that the author of this peace doesn’t seem to think for a moment that Anna might still have been boring old heterosexual too. Many people of any sexuality have period in their adolescence when they don’t know what they want. If what they are feeling is sexual attraction or admiration towards someone cool or excitement for seeing/doing/thinking something “adult” and/or “naughty”. Plus this is a translation of an old diary and as such very likely to have inside jokes (for lack of better term), normal translation issues and just culture differences that stem from different time period. Anne has been likely to use words in way that would have been perfectly clear to her but look very different to a contemporary english reader. For example wanting to have a girlfriend could have been about pure lesbian love or just having a great female friend in platonic sense. Hell maybe Anne knew that her family would read her diary and wrote it as a prank to her dad. Hard to say without knowing the person.

The author of that piece is none other than our dearest Becky, a white woman LARPing as a queer non-binary Latinx Jew cucking her husband with another man. She also hates gamers.

 
The fact is we don't know Anne's sexuality because she died and never got to explore it/confirm it. The entries relating to it were censored BY HERSELF where she personally covered them up. People should see her as one story of millions, a young girl whose potential and life was snuffed out because she was Jewish, not as someone that people can relate to and feel bad for because she's ~kweer~.

The issue with this whole thing is that Anne Frank was a kid during at that time and she was closed off with the most of her own life. In fact, the only people she knew were others who she didn't get along with as much. So it's not surprising as the attention starved child who wanted to see more of the world actually wanted to try both scoops of ice cream. It doesn't mean she was bi, if anything her hormones were so out of whack from being isolated with a boy who she didn't even knew that well. Anything was starting to look desirable in fact.

If what I heard like 5 years ago is true, tumblr-heads go as far as fabricating shit to get it into Wikipedia for the sake of "validation", so respect is not even on the menu here.
 
The other night, I was talking to a friend of mine who's still in the middle of the newest season of Stranger Things and had to assure him that, yes, there is a lesbian character, and it's not just Tumblr claiming she is because they decided to mark her as their own.

What a sad state of affairs.
 
They need to stop with the Anne Frank shit and quit determining who she was based on one entry in her journal. And basing shit on things we write in teenage years is silly.

I forgot to point this out, but notice that the writer is a Jewish convert. This means though they are Jewish, they don't have generational trauma from the holocaust. Their lineage doesn't have that history that people who are ethnically Jewish have. There's so much discussion here on her supposed sexuality yet hardly anything about her being Jewish, which is why she was prosecuted and killed.

There are a lot of LGBT Jewish celebrities to celebrate for being Jewish AND LGBT. You don't need to force a label on a young, dead girl.

Honestly, even when it's super obvious I still see Tumblr seeing or headcanoning someone as trans. I know more than one person that claims Della from Ducktales (aka Huey, Dewey, and Louie's MOTHER) as trans. As if the fact that she's one of the only female characters isn't enough. Noo, she must be trans too!
