"ratings trolling"
I remember when, conversely, caring about ratings was a ban

KO overton window has shifted so far to the left that they are now re-gendering they/them, someone tell every straight woman who has "she/her/they/them" in their bio

threads like that are always this crazy humiliation ritual, we're going to yell at you over some asinine thing, if you defend yourself YOU'RE WRONG and you need to edit your post and publicly apologize or we'll all reply with thread derailing zingers until the self-righteous moderator shows up to ban you!!!!

"ratings trolling"
I remember when, conversely, caring about ratings was a ban

It's a very popular tool when it comes to banning people they don't have an actual reason to ban

Sometimes I find myself seeing a red name on Knockout and getting curious if that person has been permanently banned or not. This time, I stumbled across Noob©, the 9th account made on Knockout.chat back in March 2019, who has been banned (or "muted" as they're calling it now) for 3 days, recently extended to 5 days. What for? I cannot be fucked to actually read 4 pages of a thread about how people aren't reading books anymore to understand why Noob© got targetted, but his first post in the thread is here, so feel free to read onward.

So I got curious and checked his ban history. In total, Noob© has 15 bans on record, from as far back as 7 years ago, at an average rate of a ban a year. We've all seen people on that forum permanently banned for way fucking less. I'm surprised Noob©, with his extensive record, has not yet been nuked off Knockout.

To finalize this post, and to finally get to the reason I'm posting this, the reason they extended his 3 day vacation to 5 days made me laugh: "Extended - Actually your whole tone this thread is awful". They tacked on an extra 2 days because of his "tone"....in a text-based post on an internet forum where tone is impossible to gauge.
