heartbeat was a tiny indie freelance thing if i recall correctly, i think it's a one man project (or rather, one woman project) and barely anybody knew about them
I believe it was a lesbian couple. I'm not sure if one or both of them made the game, but both of them were involved in the Twitter slapfight.

That's something that annoyed me about Factorio's endgame. You spend the entire game improving your belt-fu and using trains, and at the end flying robots become the most efficient way to do shit. Lame.
They're perfect for "local" automation but not as efficient as "manual" processes. I think it's that they can be set up easily to basically maintain everything is what makes them feel so good. If you play with bugs on, which is the default, then they are massive resource drains as you have to defend them and constantly stock the defenses to protect the network.

There are plenty of ways to play though so just set up however you want, I tend to see the robots as removing basic tasks out of your hands like general repairs and actually placing pieces down. I prefer trains and depots for most stuff as it's just more fun to design.

There are mods that better automate processes like oil extraction, though.
Maybe I should check into that, though I don't care about oil extraction automation so much as the chemical balancing act. Usually I just say "Fuck it" and end up with a bottleneck that I will temporarily alleviate with a new storage tank.

I agree, and I'll take any whitepill I can get right now no matter how tiny, even if I have to pretend video games matter to do it.

But this works best when you give them the finger once and move on, rather than going full EVS. He never has to mention this again to make the statement, as long as he doesn't back down either.
Video games do matter.

I mean, they really do seem to be the last bastion of entertainment, it's nearly impossible to stand out online as a musician or writer due to how you're practically guaranteed to get lost in the shuffle, and filmmaking is pozzed across the board. All three of those mediums also have self-publishing venues run by colossal businesses backed by the same handful of groups that want to censor any and all dissent, and it's a miracle that Steam is as prominent and neutral as they are.

so... friendly fire?

steam is literally about making money, not pozzed shit.
they allowed people to give user tags to game already so indieshit always have that "masterpiece" slapped to it as long as they aren't a asset ripoff type of game.
the only way for steam to remove your game is if financial issues can be a part for them, not you. such was the case with that chink game that was deleetus becuase winnie didn't like it. it's back again if i recall correctly.

There was a brief, beautiful moment after Steam introduced the user tags system where there was zero moderation of tags.

"Overpriced port of a mobile game" and "Social Justice Garbage" are both still in my frequently used tags list. God I miss those days.

Oh, I meant to say I don't like logistics robots. Sure, they reduce the amount of spaghetti in your base but managing belt noodle is half the fun in that game for me.

Construction robots, on the other hand, are wonderful and lovely and I wish I could start the game with a portable roboport surgically attached to my character's spine because holy shit they're so useful when you're using blueprints. I wonder if there's a mod for that.

Nobody comes out of one of these conversations looking good, but unlike these nobodies, Kovarex has something to lose by continuing to engage. You don't win a war of attrition with NEETs even if you're a master debater, and he's really not, at least not in English. The longer the goons can keep dragging him into it, the more bystanders tend to split the difference/shrug and say "maybe he could have been nicer". The dialectic is rigged. Get your hit in and get out.

EDIT: I mean this both for his career and for his "poltics" (aka "fuck off assholes"). The more he comes away from this looking like an autistic sped (and not in the good way that made Factorio great), the worse it is for him all around.

I will most likely be hosting a server for everyone in a mostly vanilla environment, unless everyone involved wants to go hard angels.
I will be using only the following extremely lightweight mods for a bit of flavor and decorative purpose, squeak through allows you to pass between virtually any machinery and is mandatory in any run. (or was until they added the spider droid)

Any suggestions?

any czechkiwi screencap this nigga and send to basadorex.
they will always try to spin the narrative unless you put a period, that's why the tranny janny put a end to the discussion, they know their tactics and if they annoy the factorio team, it can mean problems for the game, the more they engage with retards, the less time they waste developing and fixing bugs.

Copy Paste Modules, Even Distribution, P.U.M.P for mods that don't change the vanilla experience and are purely the best kind of QOL

LTN if you want to enable mega-autism with trains

The founder of the game, kovarex, has gotten into an argument with the community because he's too based

>I won't even search him up. You know why? Because I don't care at all. I don't care if he cheats on his wife, is a bigot, or pays proper tips in restaurant. These things are simply not relevant. If Stalin had a good writeup on programming, would linking that be dangerous, because some people might read it, start liking HIM, thus start liking communism and the ineviteble mass murder that follows it? Is this how little we trust other individuals when it comes to access to information? I personally trust my readers to have the ability to create their own opinions instead of blindly following whatever says the person they like.
