For instance, your character stops blinking. A fanmod had to fix that.Skyrim was pretty bad. Never before have I seen a developer break so many things patching the game.

Even after 3-4 months the Dragonborn DLC was basically broken because when you went to take the Black Book to Storn Crag-Strider he'd just stand there. Forever. And since it was one of what passes for a cutscene in Skyrim you were basically doomed to stand there with him forever. For instance, your character stops blinking. A fanmod had to fix that.
Heaven forbid I enjoy something alot of others dont.Admitting you play FO76, holy fuck that's cringe.
Because the games usually had more good than bad, and what bad there was could be fixed up by the amazing modding community. Usually they'd fix shit faster or better than Bethesda could. And it seems Bethesda ended up taking a "Well, modders will fix it anyway, why should we bother?" mindset and the games got even buggier and the bugs sometimes never get fixed. It's not a good mindset, especially when you've got console releases without mod support. How did Bethesda manage to get away with releasing games rife with so many bugs for so many years without getting called out on it?
Because mods fixed everything and the modding community was top tier. How did Bethesda manage to get away with releasing games rife with so many bugs for so many years without getting called out on it?
Christmas rush. They just had to get that 11/11/11 release date. How did Bethesda manage to get away with releasing games rife with so many bugs for so many years without getting called out on it?
That's one of the worst ways to make games, on a soulless corporate timetable. Whatever happened to the days when "It'll be done when it's done and will take as much time as we need to ensure a quality product!" was the mantra of the devs?Christmas rush. They just had to get that 11/11/11 release date.
I'm still eagerly anticipating griefing videos featuring these exploits. I hope they happen soon. The hackers are now claiming they've devised methods to invade private servers and permanently kill players.

That was George Brussard's catch phrase whenever people asked when Duke Nukem Forever would be done.when was that?
Sometime around the late 80s to 90s before gaming became the big business it was today. Granted it applied mostly to PC devs like id, Apogee, 3DRealms, etc... Console gaming has almost always been a corporate shitshow, hence the collapse of 1983. Notice that it wasn't PC title devs that took the brunt of the hit, but console devs like Atari. The PC gaming market back then was incredibly niche, and often times you couldn't even get the games from a store, rather having to order them over mail or phone. Remember ads like this?when was that?

Lol remember when Toddler said they had MiLlIoNs of players? And FWIW, according to steam there's 17,373 people playing Skyrim SE, and 14,473 people playing Fallout 4 right now.
But the thing for me, at least, is there are a lot of games I don't like, but at least I can look at them and see why someone else would like them. But when I look at Fallout 76 all I can think is "Why don't you play Fallout 4?" And while the quality of Fallout 4 might be questionable, to put it mildly, but at least that game can be enjoyed for what it is (a post apocalyptic looter shooter / interior decorator simulator / walking simulator with fun companions). Fallout 76 is just Fallout 4 with all the fun ripped from it and hidden behind a paywall. Like, hey, did you like the opinions and witty banter of your companions? Well that's gone! Did you like the base building and carving out a little home of your own? Well you're never going to store enough materials to make it, and even if you do it's gonna be gone when you log out (unless you pay us $100 a year!) But what does F76 offer? Well, you canHeaven forbid I enjoy something alot of others dont.
