Other people have mentioned Lonesome Road being guilty of this, but I think it's exactly that sort of "epic hero" writing that makes it so entertaining.
Ulysses: "You monster. Destroyer of civilizations. Meet me at the end of the world and face your destiny among the dead."

Here's the thing, though: only Ulysses in Lonesome Road treats you like some kind of supervillain for flattening his potential second home. To everyone else, you're a nobody until you do something great, like say, assassinate the head of the Chairmen in his own Casino and walk away without a scratch on you. You're important because of what you do in the game, not because of what you were before the game.

I really hope that Fallout 4: New Vegas mod doesn't end up being a trainwreck ( ).

Also those weird ass lizards they tried passing off as totally fine and lore friendly will never not be hilarious.

To be fair, Here and Now is okay if you're using a mod that gives you multiple perks per level and you've already taken most of the good ones available.

It had slightly better utility back in Fallout 3 when you got perks every level. If you were at an odd level and really wanted a new perk ASAP, you can just take H&N to get it and improved skills right away. Of course, since experience points are quite generous in both games, it wouldn't really take too long to level up anyway, so it was still one of the shittiest perks.

IMO the best way to balance out H&N is to get a mod that tweaks the XP you gain along with bumping the difficulty up to Very Hard or Survival mode. I always download the "Perk every level" mod for NV and do that.

i find it tragic really. the mod itself was cool and i can tell they put alot of love (maybe too much) and work into it without expecting to be paid anything. ´i could have looked past the lore breaking, the pop-culture references and even the hunt down the freeman story line of the NCR exile but all the fetish carp and the devs being stuck up with their political stick did more harm than good. i explored 60% of Portland and did a ton of side quests and there is some really cool stuff you can find, characters too talk too and decent story telling sidequests you can do. every area had its on lore going on with notes you can find and read about what has been going on and how people were days before and after the bombs fell. there was this hospital i explored and i reed the logs of how the hospital staff dealt with trauma of watching people slowly die off radiation sickness after the bombs fell. one ended up becoming addicted to pain killers and put the blame on a ex-addict so she got kicked out of the hospital and they watched, as her skin was plead off by the radiation rain outside. than they decided to have a suicide pact because they could no longer deal with what was going on. that is some good story telling from a mod made for free!

there was a SOUL in there but it got perverted by political crap and fetish garbage. the fact you can drive a car in this game engine and its half-decent is insane!

Here's hoping that Frontier Re-cut project keeps going, and something worthwhile gets salvaged out of this mess. Longer-term, maybe we'll see Frontier's new technical shit get reverse engineered and used for new mods.

At least 1 dev is gonna an hero
Big content creators are gonna purge content relating to the frontier off their channels (ie alchestbreach , mikeburnfire , etc)
A lot of content is gonna be rereleased as standalone mods
A tell-all video/article/Twitter thread will come outing even more degen behavior in the dev team
The frontier will rerelease in a years time with missing content and nothing to replace said missing content
There will be a lot more stolen assets found, I'm betting renafox has some uncredited work in the mod somewhere

In Mikeburnfire's case, its really fucking telling that he and Zach did ONE episode of the Frontier and then promptly went back to playing Fallout 4 and NV like they'd never even considered it.

Yes Zutheskunk’s stuff was nasty and morally questionable. But getting genuinely angry at the frontier and acting like they’re committing a cardinal sin is just retarded. Sure you can ridicule them for that but to act like raiding their discord and vandalizing their wiki is righteous retribution for a sin too great to cleanse is insanity to me.

The America thing was dumb and edgy worthy of ridicule, but let’s not pretend other games have done something similar and getting legitimately angry at that is also fucking retarded.

I think NVB3 was just him wanting to wrap up the storyline and it shows. (He kills off most notable npc's for one thing, and even Russel if you bother to bring him along) Fallout 4 was coming out around that time and he didnt want to spend 300 years on it like he did NVB2. Not to mention how he scrapped the entire "Lake of Fire" concept originally planned. Self restraint, something the frontier devs could use a sore lesson in.
