Fallout series

Take the fan content pill, my dude. There is nothing worthwhile coming from "official" sources, sure, but there is plenty of fanmods that are still worth a try. Have you played Fallout Sonora or Nevada conversions for Fallout 2? They will bring faith in this fandom back to you, it's a night and day difference with how fans who actually care about the franchise treat it and how hacks who never cared and never will and treat it as a brand do.
I didn't meant it like I'm done playing the games I like. I have been cursed with the need to replay 1,2 or nv till the end of time. I haven't really touched the total conversion at all. I have wanted to play sonora tho but I thought the English translation was still unfinished.

This is the same thing I've been feeling with most modern gaming, especially long-time game series that either have been milked to death until there's no more juice left or just used as a name brand for corpos to sit on for decades. Fallout NV will still be one of my favorite games, and 1 and 2 were still amazing, but the franchise cannot recover, and Todd Howard is still incompetent

I’ll outlive all of you.

Disagree all you want. I guarantee you will kill yourself before I even have the inkling of a notion of doing such a thing.

Standing on your grave won’t just be an expression at that point bucko.
This post is so fucking gay, that if it was a person it would molest toddlers. We're talking about vidjya and here you come with the fuckin' manifesto. So gay.

Am I so fucking stupid that I think someone would think a top-down RPG with turn-based combat uses the same engine as a 3D platformer?
I’d say so.
You’re a Redditor because I say you are.
I outed myself as a subhuman resident of the vermin hole known as the UK when I put the question mark outside the quotes.
How the fuck can I be so stupid as to not have seen the other posts talking about how disjointed this entire series is?
Okay.
Damn bro I’m so dumb I can’t tell if you’re serious or baiting.
Keep thunkin’
You might get there eventually.
I had a vasectomy and my Jewish Wife bought me a switch.
👍
This post is so fucking based, that if it was a person it would Audie Murphy combined with Alvin York.
We’re writing our tragic backstories about how much we hate the fact that the 90’s shovelware slop we worship was turned into a a legendary gaming franchise and didn’t die with BOS and you’re over here shitting on our graves.
So based.
“It’s okay for us to mald but not okay for you to make fun of us you GOYSLOP LOVER!!”

>KnightRaven shilling the TV show
God fucking damn it
Him too? I was hoping Knight and Chad Nobark would fill in the void that Schizo Elijah left behind for more surreal Fallout content, but I guess they're both just shills with shitty tastes. Very weird for Knight to simp for this piece of shit since he is a House fag, but I guess I have to accept that most Fallout fans are just retards.
Oh well, I still remember how bad things got shortly after release of Fallout 3, avoiding most of the mainstream part of the fandom or actively hating them isn't anything new to me. If enough people downright ignore toddslop or consider it non-canon, we might even go back to the comfy days of pre-Fallout 3 when we didn't even have to worry about Todd.
Speaking of Schizo Elijah, I'm going to play a schizo myself for a moment and speculate that he didn't really leave the internet, he just quit his Fallout persona for one reason or another. Discord drama could be one reason, dealing with the other rejects in the fandom must be tiring. Getting burned out as a fan, especially with the TV show coming out, could be another, or he could just be done with the whole content creation side of things. We may never know, I like to think that he got tired of all the morons within the community and the TV show sealed the deal for him, one of his last videos is his reaction to it.

a picture perfect example of the liberal midwit
it actually makes sense considering he'd have grown up "privileged" of course the guy with the mostly normal 1950s perfect life and decides to help the downtrodden would be a fag (literally!)
He’s a self-insert, gay, a member of the tribe and just like Veronica, he’s Reddit-tier
at least his arc is him learning not to hate where he came from, thats pretty based, plus you can force him into multiple shitty endings.
95% of y’all haven’t played 1&2 and never will, but will continue to lie and say you have until the end of time.
true, people don't seem to understand how shitty those games are, they take that bit from wasteland where they give you 25 skills but only 5 of them matter. And the final bosses are fucking bullshit, there's a reason the "best" way to play fallout 1 is by playing the one recoded entirely in fallout 2 so you can actually give your companions commands and the builds for anything beyond energy weapons is viable late game.

hell fallout 1 barely has a game at all, its like they finished the first part of a game to release as shareware and went "fuck it" , the levels go up to 21 but you're usually not even at level 17 by the time you finish all the quests and knock out the bosses. also there are only a handful of locations or items. there's something like 13 locations in fallout 1 and thats including the boss areas and small "worlds" like the khans shack or vault 15 the entire open world is sparse as shit.

also there's the mandatory boss at the end of fallout 2 that you can't charisma your way out of and its a bitch to play even with every advantage on your side, if any bethesda game pulled that we'd never hear the fuckin end of it.
i hated the fucking timer
you shouldn't, the game is mostly on rails. unless you're retarded and thought you could grind a level up using random encounters its fairly hard to not make it in time. there's no real reason to visit any location after your initial visit.
the answer was Metro.
thats different, its based on a book and russian authors are forced to do a shitload of research because the fans are usually as autistic as the people in the star wars thread on kiwifarms.
I doubt he drank anything remotely refined.
its a persona, i highly doubt he has an eastern european mail order bride either.

Yeah F1 always felt half baked in its ideas and execution, and I think Tim Cain gets way too much credit for creating Fallout, from what I remember he basically wanted fuck all to do with the second game, where all the real lore and everything bethesda had based stole, F3 off of came from.

i appreciate fallout 1 for being a tight, focused narrative that doesn't outstay its welcome.
fo1 establishes an eerie pitch that no other game in the series hits quite right for me

edit:
in addition, the old school rendering, the herky jerky animations, the very little you can actually see up close; all of it lends to the setting.
fallout's visual concepts work better in a low-def medium, like quake 1, creepy stuff needs that uncanny valley look

fallout 3 gets really fucking close and I wish more people would give adam adamowicz and bethesda the credit for honestly doing the best they could with the
2d to 3d conversion on a ton of stuff in regards to fo1/2 into fo3. some of the props/architecture is really fantastic in how they translated it from 2d isometric to a 3d first person.

F1 always felt half baked in its ideas and execution,
Honestly it reminds me of The Outer Worlds in that regard, its a lot of premise and world building (do they even really go all that hard on the "50s version of the future" after the initial cinematic? really could have been a 90s post-apocalypse for how little it mattered) but the actual "gameplay" left a lot to be desired. Also if you ever played Wasteland you can tell how much it A.apes the shit out of it and B. how much it pales in comparison and C. how much the "setting" is because they want to avoid being considered a complete rip off of wasteland. almost every single enemy and weapon and location is a knock off of something in wasteland. the only real difference is Tim Cain's much better dialogue and the setting. Also the wasteland sequels really have a fuckload of fun playing into the fact that the nuclear war happened in 1998 and reference it way more in 2 games than the actual Fallout series references being a 1950s-style setting.

i'd agree with you but i have a strong feeling the game is so "tight and focused" because of it being made short and cheap. I will say the visuals are pretty fucking good, being so far from the action you get a real understanding of how huge everything is. the Radscorpions and other non-humans genuinely look menacing. the centaurs look appropriately deformed, they somehow made a more scary looking spider.

it reminds me a lot of The Outer Worlds, the enemies, characters and everything but the gameplay and PC focused stuff works. getting into fights in Fallout was always a hassle because ian was guaranteed to shoot you and the dog did fuck all in terms of damage and the 2! other companions while good, can't contribute much. the cathedral fight, despite having the plasma and power armour and all the upgrades and having all the companions plus the other people almost never resulted in more than 2 more companions making it past the initial fight.

the fact you're going it alone and the emptyness is what really makes fallout 1 so unique compared to the rest of the series. thats one of the few things bethesda gets in 3, there's nothing besides you and everything that wants you dead, if you're lucky you can see different firefights but overall its empty and if you encounter something it wants you dead

There is no nuclear bait or threats, it's just one retard who is known for doing the exact same thing in other threads coming over and vomiting his shitty takes at everyone who will listen. I don't even think it's "bait", he is just that pathetic.
How one faggot can be so wrong at once perplexes me.
Damn you reply like a grade schooler.
Gotta keep it on par for the KF Fallout thread residents.
Then why do you compare a 3D platformer to a top-down RPG, you dumb nigger? That's like saying SimCity 2000 sucks because DOOM came out 7 years prior.
Because I can goober. Chuckle-fucks like you kept doing it last fall with Starfield and Baldur’s Gate 3. Two games I don’t even really like that much tbh.
Keep the same energy goober. Either different genres of games can be compared or they can’t.
Absolutely seething.
Please, as an expert in said subject, tell me what it feels like?

That’s Interplay/Blackrock/Obsidian’s legacy.

They didn’t steal anything considering they resurrected the franchise from death owned the franchise.

I guess.

The Outer Worlds
Lol, another game Tim Cain directed, I did watch one of his videos a while back and he talked about it the same way he talked about Fallout 1, something along the lines of playing through the game multiple times with different play styles and whatever, meanwhile the game is average as fuck. I dont think I've ever heard him say a mean word towards anything or anyone.

Always found it funny how raiders in f3 are just generic in every way in contrast to the khans in F1, or the vipers or whoever, they gave them a name even if it was meaningless. But at the very least in F3 if you were playing evil or good karma characters they'd send goons after you with some sort of identity beyond "generic raider #5," if I recall correctly they were called the Talon Company and The Regulators.

Nope. That’s one of the main reasons I like Fallout and it’s barely a thing in the old games. If I wanted generic post apo I’d play dying light cuz at least the gameplay rocks.
meanwhile the game is average as fuck.
Obsidian’s legacy when not making a half finished, self fart sniffing, “Muh gray morality” sequel to a much better game.

The only thing they did right was letting Obsidian make FNV, aside from that bethesda hasnt made a single good thing in two decades.
self fart sniffing
Emil and Todd whenever they start developing destroying a new game
