Fallout series

Time to wait a month before I can actually play the game again. I don't even have crazy mods, just qol stuff like bullet counted reload and visible holstered weapons. And it looks like the 6 gorillion creation club quests you're now required to have start the minute you leave the vault

you do realize it's referencing mccarthyism right? how they'd label people commies even if they actually werent because the government was shit afraid of the idea people having differing opinions to capitalism (also russians or something idk)
I know what they're ostensibly doing, but it doesn't change their heaps of progressive cringe they shoehorned into the show

Kreia actually had a point. I have no idea what he was going with Ulysses. His writing's all over the place. A frumentarius, but he doesn't see Caesar handling his tribe like he did every other tribe coming. Fancy view of people as agents of concepts yet doesn't see any in himself. Hates you for the unintentional consequences of your actions that supposedly happened while ignoring his own.

The other DLCs hype him up, and the payoff is...eh. His personal connection with you is easily the worst bit of writing. If he were just some renegade member of the Legion who decided to do his own thing, that would've been more interesting. Make all the mentions of a different courier have more weight. The guy could've been you, but he found his own Vegas or a way to make his own faction: one of the last stockpiles of nuclear weapons in America. He came to the west from the east and you went to the east from the west and other such poetic crap.
I feel like Ulysses was the sum of everything that the metanarrative of New Vegas and its DLCs were trying to say. If it was a book/TV show/movie (I use this to compare because I don't think people really consider the intended narrative theme in games very much) I think the takeaway that would be that one ought to let go of the things behind you. Every major faction in New Vegas itself is in some way or another aping or wearing the flesh skinsuit of something from the past. The NCR is a pretender state with the same trappings of the Old Government, the Legion garbs itself in justifications based on Antiquity, and House is literally a rotting zombie in a test tube. The DLCs emphasize it a bit more, in my opinion, and I think Ulysses was intended to be a foil of the Courier. Someone who cannot let go of what was, which has consumed him so utterly that he blames a Mailman for the destruction of a town.

I finally finished the TV Show, by the way, and overall my feelings earlier in the thread are the same. My main gripe at the moment isn't wiping out the NCR or the weird Brotherhood obsession Bethesda has or placing Shady Sands in Los Angeles. Really my main issue is making Vault-Tec responsible for the Great War + them being the ones who nuked Shady Sands. While at least it's not aliens, which I'm sure they wanted to force, I think it really doesn't work narratively and is really shitty writing.

Sorry to bother lads but it kinda fits.
I tried playing OWB on steam but hearts of iron 4 seems completely bricked.
I had not played it in a long time so I dont know if my computer got shittier or the game got more script intensive (ran into the same problem with War Thunder).
Is there any way to lessen the load on my machine?
Also
Anybody know how to get HoI4 with all DLC'S without paying a dime to those swedish kikes and still enjoy a great fallout mod?
Thanks in advance

Imagine giving Chrischan Avalone the benefit of the doubt. Ulysses and Lonesome Road isn't shit because of the "theme" of letting go of the past(that is also shit but i'l get to that). It's shit because it's shoehorned self important garbage. Ulysses isn't just some frumentari that went of the reservation ala Elijah. He is the bestest boy. He was a courier just like you, he refused to take the Platinum chip because he knew it was your destiny to get shot in the head, he went and made the White Legs legion boys just to spite the Burned Man, he also went to the Big MT first and impressed everyone. Also he knows of your secret past where you nuked a place just as special as New Vegas. He is the worst OC donut steel self insert garbage. His name is a refence to an overated book like all fan fiction. And even when you kill the faggot the game shoe horns in how you were so respectful to his corpse and how he gets what a courier is.
I think Ulysses was intended to be a foil of the Courier. Someone who cannot let go of what was, which has consumed him so utterly that he blames a Mailman for the destruction of a town.
Then why is he written more poorly than the Baldur's Gate villain?
Why is that town even a thing. The Divide creates backstory for a character that doesn't need a backstory. Obisdian accidentally solved the problem of most RPGs by creating a compelling starting narrative that doesn't require you to pick a backstory out of a menu. You don't need one you can imagine one if you want.
If you really want a foil for the PC. Why not instead of some scrub from your past instead add a character to Benny's side. A quick spitball but the foil could be the Follower of Apocalypse that taught Benny how computers work. Maybe they actually made Yesman. Maybe they supported Benny because they were secretly a frumentari sent to sow discord among the casinos. And the reason for their foil is not something as gay as not letting go of the past but a more true to the original NV plot of having to make a choice and suffer the consequences. Maybe their idea is that Yes Man would allow the extension of the conflict into perpetuity thus in their mind sparing the world of the consequences of someone winning the 2nd battle of Hoover dam.

I think the takeaway that would be that one ought to let go of the things behind you
Besides that being commie gobilty gook. People are and see themselves as an extension of the past. Romans thought themselves descendants of Troy. Italians think themselves descendants of Rome. The reality of nations is that they seek to use history to further justify their existence. NCR claiming to be descendants of the original US government is both logical and functional as a feature of showing a world rising from the apocalypse. Caesar is the odd one out, he doesn't want to use the past to justify himself, instead he uses the past as a tool to get what he wants but he is a bald wierdo with 4 INT. And to be frank isn't the Sierra Madre and Dead Money all about letting go, shouldn't the different expansions have different themes?

You can go to some place like cs.rin.ru and check their thread for it. If you own the base game already, you can just download the DLCs and throw them, alongside something like CreamAPI, into your game's folder and the game will just assume you bought it legitimately. The thread should have it all there.
Performance-wise, I have no clue. I'd recommend a full reinstall and verifying your game cache (before tossing the DLCs in there, of course) and see if that helps. If you haven't touched it in a long time, there might be some junk leftover from an outdated mod or just the usual gunk.

You're a delusional shill.
I’m not you so that’s wrong. Bethesda isn’t even my favorite developer/publisher.
for your glorious brand?
You keep letting the mask slip and your mental illness slip through.
So you call me clueless but you don't know that Obsidian only worked on Fallout 2? Fallout, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel were all made by Interplay. Obsidian only worked on Fallout 2.
Obsidian is comprised of Ex Black Isle people. So yeah they made those games too moronski.
proof enough that there was a need to take the franchise back to its roots
“Back to the roots” of a series with 4 games in it by the same people and one game by not the same people.
With only one of those games, Tactics, being mostly good. 1 and 2 were marginal even by the era they came out in and BOS killed the franchise. Real great fuckin track record that we needed to “go back to the roots” of.
Dipshit.

Tim Cain even admits it was a B-Tier project to begin with.

It’s almost like goobers like Pulverizer think Pre 2008 Fallout was a lot more than it actually was, in both reality and in original concept.

Has anyone posted Bethesda's idea of ultra-wide support, yet?

Classic.

To avoid the thread being dominated by Low T Doom posters whining about Fallout 4’s (a game they hate) Next Gen Update, I’d like to pose a question.

There's no need to be upset that Bethesda accidentally messed up this one time.

They'll fix it in no time, just like always.

No, not the bare minimum. An implementation so bad that it'd be better to not even happen. Like, technically you can uncap the FPS in Bethesda games, but going beyond 60 causes physics to shit the bed and a whole new set of bugs to start happening.
Wait, they have not fixed that with this "next gen" patch?

What is everyone’s favorite non energy gun in New Vegas? Mine is the Survivalist Rifle because it’s fun jack hammering enemies to death with it.
Ratslayer is fun too.
Lever-action shotgun

Because the 1887 is bad ass. The only mistake was no flip cock animation and making it 20 gauge.

Also it *never* jams because Obsidian forgot to give it a jam animation.

Also, no need to mock them until they complain their mod list for the game that is the worst ever and they hate doesn't work anymore.

Unironically, the 9mm pistol. I fell in love with Hi-Powers thanks to that gun.

Bethesda messes up all the time just like all game devs do.
To be honest they should’ve given all the CC stuff away for free like they did with Skyrim but perhaps they’re waiting until next year to do that cuz it will be Fallout 4’s 10 year anniversary.

1897 is better IMO

Whelp looks like imma main that in my next NV playthrough cuz I had no idea. Is there a legendary LAS?

I always hated the 10mm being what it is in Fallout. 10mm pistols don’t look like overly chonky chungus guns. It should’ve been a 1911 looking gun IMO.
If we're allowed to pick mods, Sweet Revenge might be my favorite gun ever in a video game
No mods. Just NV and DLC.
