Fallout series

It seems pretty obvious the 'upgrade' to FO4 has been a disaster. The dev of Sim Settlements aka the mod that has kept FO4 alive has confirmed he has downgraded and will stay at 1.10.163 until he is forced by Bethesda to upgrade. His reasoning being that all .163 mods work with the new version and not the other way. Also hearing rumblings that the f4se dev is having more issues than expected and low level bugs that have never been seen are popping up. Combine that with the issue of long dead f4se mods needing a recompile it's going to be a mess.

I once knew a guy who who would download a fuckton of modern day tacti-cool mods, and random shit like lightsabers/Stormtrooper armor, and then try to tell me it wasn't immersion breaking and in fact actually enhanced the role play and fit in to the world. He wasn't trollin'..
I still feel like I'm being fucked with when I think about this.

it's more difficult than I remembered
its the only place with level scaling and it hits you with multiple waves of enemies. trying to play it with bleed was a hassle.
. Speech and charisma aren't totally useless
they are though, the way speech works you can save scum the few times you need a check (not that they matter mostly) you put a 1 in speech and now you're averaging 6 for the other stats. When i used to play a non-TTW fallout 3 i'd always put luck at an even number and use intense training to increase it because it gives all skills another point which makes it the optimal decision vs any other perk which just raises two skills by +5 plus it feels thematic because your first level up will be when you leave the vault. a 1 in charisma and 2 in luck means the rest of the special will be at least 7.

Had a friend playing vanilla and he couldn't even get it runing long enough to see the creation club.
Does Bethesda allow you to downgrade your version like Paradox does?

Has anyone tried this mod? It seems pretty interesting, if it expands on the Legion gameplay is more than needed.

No, the number one mod on nexus right now is a downgrader helper app.
To add a bit onto this, There are two ways to downgrade Fallout 4 as of now.
1: totally redownloading a older Version of Fallout 4
2: Replacing the Fallout 4 EXE's and the Steam API dll.

Both of the downgraders on the front page of Nexus offer the second option, do be warned you might need to add certain lines to your Fallout4Custom.ini file, namely

sResourceDataDirsFinal=

Otherwise the F4SE plugin that replaces the main menu won't work. Realistically its probably best to use option 2 since it doesn't require you to totally redownload the game.
waiting is too much and the minigame creep is absurd
What minigames are you talking about? I don't think I've ran into one yet

Another work of beauty by the Titans of the East mod, this is even better that the Brotherhood of Steel armor. I finished the Arcade Gannon personal mission and boy did it pay off.

Dear friends, remember the Sneedclave.

The Gannon Armor version is a lot cooler as well.

What is the best order to play the NV DLC
Honest Hearts or Old World first, then Dead Money, cap it off with Lonesome Road.

I cannot fathom how Bethesda fucked this up so bad. They feel like an unfinished faction, except instead of just missing some quest content Emil never got around to writing out what their entire... Point was. Like he started and then just kind of forgot, which makes sense if you watch that talk he did I guess.
There is an expression in the Wasteland: "Old World Blues."
It refers to those so obsessed with the past they can't see the present, much less the future, for what it is.

Hopefully London and other devs will follow suit. Fucking Bethesda can't even leave their old games unbroken, have to go out of their way to fuck things up.

The tourism mechanic for Vegas and New Reno is one example.
But it was enough to kill my interest.
You get stifled and malused to death, which isnt really a flaw of the mod perse but the game on its own.

I once again reiterate that Victoria 2 would have been a better engine to work on for a post apocalyptic society rebuilding simulator but then the division and warfare management would have been gutted to hell and back so HoI4 makes sense on that front.

The mod just feels too railroaded for its own good.
And it still is one of the best HoI4 mods along the pony one and thats saying something

John Fallout: y u do this?
Shaun: uuuuuuh I don't have to heckin' explain myself DAD
I wish I was exaggerating but this is the kind of writing Slopout fans defend. People talk about Bethesda hating New Vegas and wanting it to be forgotten but I think they don't even want Fallout 3 to be remembered. It harkens back to an era when Bethesda games weren't completely injected with 100% pure soy and low IQ Poojeet tier writing.

Bethesda's aversion to good gun design is also something that just utterly confuses me.
Skyrim weapon design is stupid as fuck too but people don't seem to talk about it as much in my experience due to gun autism being more popular.

I used to think they were just being really gay with artistic expression but now I think the artists are just retarded after Starfield.

You rarely see archaic weapon designs be criticized not just because sword autists are a way smaller niche than gun autists but you also have to take into account how far we're removed from the type of warfare where you smack someone in the head with an axe while wearing heavy as fuck armor, people just don't realize how light even most "heavy" melee weapons are, a zweihänder usually weighs just 2.3-3.2 kilograms (5-7 pounds). There are ceremonial zweihänders that are quite a bit heavier than that but that's because they're not meant for battlefield use. It's one thing to carry something, it's something completely different to actually swing that thing, in games though you often find big boy swords weighing 20 pounds and you'd imagine if you showed Joe Average some big two-handed sword they'd think that it weighs about as much.

And that's just raw weight, I could go on for hours about the importance of balancing that weight and how fantasy swords would be unbalanced and therefore unusable but I just don't have the will to do it given how pointless it is.
