Fallout series

So I'm gonna have a few hours to kill for the next month and I want to give Fallout 3 a try

what mods should I use so far I've got my eyes set on FWE, MMM, DarnUI, DC Moods, WMK, and probably gonna throw in some ENB so it looks fucking awesome on a huge screen at 4k along with NMC and other texture/animation packs

Missing anything?

I personally use Project Beauty (because fuck potato faces) and Killable Children (because fuck Little Lamplight). I also like GNR Enhanced and the DCInteriors Project.

If I want to see naked chicks I'll just fire up tinder and go out fam

clearly not getting laid is part of playing that game

yeah Project Beauty is part of the list I have like four or five that I need to figure out how to make them work together

Fuck yeah Killable Children I forgot about that one getting it now for sure

Have you ever played Fallout 3?

When It came out I logged hours and hours playing it and was in love.

But it's very hard to play once you played New Vegas much less Fallout 4 because the gun play is so poor.

I've played all of them yes but it's been so long since I've played any it shouldn't be a problem

Also mods like Iron Sights, Sprint and FWE take care of the shitty combat and make it good so

I forget the name of it, but the top-downloaded weather mod was pretty nifty. If you get it, make sure to download the hotfix that improves the lighting conditions of nighttime raining, otherwise you can't see shit.

TTW is a must if you have NV already. NV is more stable and some elements of NV make its way into FO3's maps. Good shit.

SECONDED.

I do however recommend playing Fallout 3 by itself first, then playing it in TTW, just to appreciate the changes.

A team of modders was actually working on porting NV to 4's engine so you can have some decent-ish gunplay in your Mojave.

And maybe they can get Freeside to not suck. That'd be tight.

Tale of Two Wastelands is amazing for a lot of reasons, but my personal favorite thing about it is trying to feel out the order you'll do quests and DLC's in to make a coherent believable story for your character.
One weakness that always bothers people about Fallout 3 is that you grew up in a vault without a lot of worldly experience, but still come out swinging as an unstoppable force of nature, which is fun to play yeah but feels a bit iffy from a story perspective. But if you start the game off by stumbling into Operation Anchorage and go through a real military training program, then manage to get on a train to New Vegas and wind up surviving Dead Money (while you're still low level enough for it to be scary and challenging), standing up to the Legion and Enclave and everything else seems more plausible, cause now you're well trained and have seen worse.

Its kinda the problem with any RPG though. Main character becomes death incarnate. NV you are a mailman that gets shot in the face and somehow comes out stronger than ever. I do think fallout 4 hit a good balance with that.Your character has military training and has seen action. They have the skills they need to survive and slowly gain experience of the wasteland.

The idea of using Operation Anchorage as a training program/ tutorial is pretty good though. I'll have to remember that next time I go back to fallout 3.

See I have way less of a problem with New Vegas than 3 when it comes to that. Yes, you're a courier. A courier who runs all over the Mojave. So you knowing how to handle yourself with a gun is more than understandable.

Then again even Fallout 3 shows you getting your first gun at 10 year old and being told that you can go down and practice 'whenever you want' then it time jumps 9 years. So even that you can imagine that you were training to become one of the security guards or just liked shooting or whatever.
