Fallout series

I don't recall a single nod toward NV in 4.

Which is something that spiteful faggot Todd would do. I don't recall a single nod toward NV in 4.
When companies get the Fallout license they are usually told to limit references to New Vegas. The Fallout board and tabletop games for example. This series will probably be the same as well. It will take 1, 2, and New Vegas and give them the Bethesda coat of point and re-imagine them.

It takes place after Fallout 4. The NCR should be a superpower and the Boneyard, sorry they're just calling it Los Angeles here, should not look like a shithole.
Is this confirmed or is that part of the leaks/speculation about the show? Nothing so far seems to point to it Being Pre or Post FO4.

It looks on the level of the shitty Fallout 76 commercial.

Am I crazy or has Bethesda "live action" stuff taken a drastic hit since the live action Skyrim advert? Maybe they just have a specific "vision" for live action Fallout but I was never impressed with the Fallout 4 or 76 ads, and the Starfield ad was shit as well, but I'd still say the Fallout 4 ad looked better than this show...

It's on the Vanity fair article that officially revealed all the details about the show:

Which if I'm correct it would mean the show it's set 9 years after the events of Fallout 4, in 2296, and would make the fact that they are ignoring most of the background of the setting even more obvious.

Fallout or not, what most appalls me about this excerpt is that Vanity Fair, one of the premiere publications for the entertainment industry, doesn't know the difference between "fair" and "fare."

Just realized that faggot Jonathan Nolan is using his season 5 script of Westworld and forcing it into the Fallout universe. The same way the Halo series is just another person's script with the halo elements surgically put on it like a sex change operation. The worst part is its going to work, unless one of the main actors pulls a Cavill, this show could get multiple seasons while being dogshit, just like the Wheel of Time or Halo or the Rings of Power or Foundation. hell The Witcher was shit from the start and still got 4 seasons. I fucking hate the public
If they do, I'll almost guarantee there's a Trump expy used as a "terrifying look at the fascist future of America!"
As opposed to the Dan Qualye expy in 2?
Worst of all, Todd says this shit is canon
Todd says anything, spineless fuck couldn't have put his foot down? like say set it in any other location besides the South west or maybe set it in any other time besides the 3/4 era? Honestly as much as people bitch. Most of the criticisms would have vanished if Todd was like "This is set in the 22nd century, its a prequel to the original game" I'd actually be hyped, the story in the fallout bible about how The Master became the Master feels like a tv show: the first season would follow a group of misfits (including a vault dweller!) on a heist, it goes really fucking wrong. 2nd season is about what happens after they go their separate ways, especially when one of them mutates. the 3rd season is the master deciding to start his little grand army. And the 4th season could just be Fallout 1, most of the decisions the character could make they always chose a "canon" option in fallout 2.

But again, theres 200 years of timeline and literally the entire US, and they decided on the one place it doesn't make sense? Its not like they're actually shooting any of this fucking thing on location so literally who gives a fuck where its set? Say what you will about HBO's watchmen, at least it set it somewhere unique. Did Todd really just not have the ability to say no? Literally most of the criticisms about everything would fly right out the window if this show was set anywhere outside of the west coast.

As opposed to the Dan Qualye expy in 2?
If it's just treated as a gaffe like Qualye's infamous "potatoe" or Jimmy Carter fighting a rabbit, then I think it would be fine. It's only really a problem when it's stripped of humor and turned into a big political soapbox. Which, if the article talking about their "satire" is anything to go by, I wouldn't be shocked if it had those elements, in a distinctly unfunny way. The little Marvel-esque "humor" bits in the trailer already put me off. I'm expecting a compilation of those scenes to make the rounds after season 1 finishes up, and I hope we have something as bizarre and terrible as the Resident Evil "Zootopia porn" line to laugh at.

I'm not a Fallout expert, so can someone explain to me why the vault's overseer is a cyclops?

It looks like garbage as expected. Bravo (John) Nolan, you bitch

Also, I don't recall cyclops mutation ever been in games unless this is just an excuse for "writers" to shoehorn in whatever bullshit happens

Fallout NV isn't my favorite Fallout for sure, but I'll admit the .357 revolver in the game is pretty satisfying to use even without the perk.
I like how they tried to stick with the, more or less, realistic single bullet reloading animation of the single action revolver instead of changing it for gameplay reasons. Even Red Dead Redemption 2 briefly forgot during a cutscene where John Marston is seen swinging the cylinder out of a single action.

The unique variant, Lucky, not only looks great but is a viable weapon through most of the game
Guns like Lucky and Maria make me miss unique weapons, unlike Fallout 4's "legendary weapon" system. You could really attach your own backstories to them and where they came from before the war.

Also, I don't recall cyclops mutation ever been in games unless this is just an excuse for "writers" to shoehorn in whatever bullshit happens
The thing is although Todd tried to retconn Fallout into his own vision, at least he was somewhat vaguely aware of the source material that it originated from and I suppose in his own way tried to sort of stay within the confines of what that universe was. With these television writers they're going to have absolutely no qualms about putting anything they want into the show because they think of Fallout like some generic sci fi show where anything wacky or zany is possible.

The lever-action shotgun benefits from Cowboy in addition to Shotgun Surgeon, and since it uses the cheaper and more common 20 gauge its quite viable
The lever action shotgun is a fun gun to use. Especially because you can acquire one early on in the game.

Police Pistol all the way. It's a great little gun and looks great, even has a speedloader
I like reloading sounds it makes, they're very satisfying to hear the metallic clicks of the metal. Though I do have a lot of memories associated with it struggling a bit against the ghost people.

More promotional material from Amazon/Bethesda, so far no sign of NCR even existing .
Wait until the Battle of the Hoover Dam is shown to be between the Enclave and the Brotherood. And they just retcon New Vegas out of existence.
It takes place after Fallout 4. The NCR should be a superpower and the Boneyard, sorry they're just calling it Los Angeles here, should not look like a shithole.
NCR bros…. It is so over…..

Worst of all, Todd says this shit is canon.
Todd has never given a fuck about canon at any point in his career so this isn't surprising at all.
The same way the Halo series is just another person's script with the halo elements surgically put on it like a sex change operation
Amazon does this a lot. Don't forget that Rings of Power was clearly meant to be a Dragon Age show before Amazon got the license and decided to just switch the proper nouns around.

As a massive 1, 2 and Tactics fan, I've expected nothing but dogshit from the Fallout series since Bethesda bought it from interplay. Interplay's original 3d concept art was better than bethesdas F3 game.

Brotherhood of steel was dogshit, F3 was shit and people need to admit it. NV was the closest to 1 and 2 you'll get but still misses the mark, despite being an alright game. F4 is laughable fucking wank and 76 doesn't deserve to be acknowledged.

Why anyone thought the tv show would be anything but steaming turd is beyond me. Game:Tv adaptions have always been dog shit, fallout has been shit for 10 years and the industry has been fucking terrible since 2010.

At this point you're only punishing yourselves. Let this shit die, enjoy the old games like enjoying rock from the 80s and ignoring modern-day tripe.

The show will probably never be referenced in the games to any meaningful capacity so it being "canon" is the least of its issues tbqh
Same reason why I don't consider Fallout 76 to be canon: Only mention of the vault is throwaway terminal text in Fallout 3 and the rest of the details simply do not mater since I will never play that game.
I don't consider this show to be canon either, hopefully it will never be mentioned in any of the games.
