Tim Cain is the perfect example of why placing anyone on a pedestal is a bad, bad idea.
Tim Cain is really wanting to die on this Fallout TV hill.
The last time this guy was involved in Fallout in a way that mattered was almost three fucking decades ago, and he's getting sucked off harder than Ultramarine balls in current day GW's mouth in the comments. I'm not trying to downplay what he did as a director, but he doesn't have much to claim beyond the year of what, 1998? Nor is he the sole soul responsible for the experience that was the original game. Yes, it was him working on Fallout alone for a long time, six months if I recall correctly, but after that Fallout became a passion project of pretty much all of the main minds behind the game- according to his own words. Tim Cain did stellar work helping people find their scope as it were, but the tone, style, art, dialogue, references, storywriting- that all came together with the help of the team. It was a mish-mash of everyone's favorite bits from all sorts of fictional property. He repeats this over and over again in his videos and people continue to treat him as if he owns original Fallout completely.
This reminds me why I've never bothered with fandoms or anything resembling them. Whenever there's any IP concerned, the weird instinct of finding a figurehead and claiming their ideas as infallible exists literally with every single one of its fan groups and is just fucking weird.
Eh, I'll unsubscribe and move on.
