The freedom to just fuck around and do basically whatever you wanted, and the oppressively bleak world just sucked me in. And the restro futuristic aesthetics were a very novel combination to me at the time since I'd never seen anything quite like it. Still don't think there's anything that really matches the vibe the fallout games have.

I used to read a lot of stories people posted on The Sims Exchange. One guy, I forget his name, made a story that was basically a retelling of the Fallout 1 and 2 storylines. I really liked those stories so I looked into a little more and learned about the game. A few years later I managed to get FO1, 2 and Tactics in a box set. I've played all the mainline games since, except 76. After watching the TV show though... I think I'm done with this franchise. Fallout ended with New Vegas.

As someone who played the Frontier, its not worth it honestly. Its a slog that is cringe but that gameplay sucks so much ass that it honestly isn't worth setting up all the patches needed to play it just to have 3 minutes of cringe in 16 hours of boring Fallout mod gameplay. The only reason to download it is if you wanna use cars in the base game.

Despite what the Xbots may say on Twitter, the Game Pass isn't good for the devs either. From what little we've heard, we know that Xbox reportedly pays devs per download. But according to the devs of the Ori games, who have worked with Xbox in the past, Game Pass players aren't "helping" Moon Studios (the developers).
