Fallout series

finished fallout 3. not as good as i remember it but it had its moments. would play fallout 4 if not for all the updates they doing so i think i wait a bit so i can mod the hell out of it.

i do wonder how fallout 5 is gonna look now that they have a tv show series going.

I have absolutely no interest in the show, I don't even want to hate-read about it, but I loathe how I can't even say I like Fallout now without the majority assuming I'm talking about the show.

The good news is I've been recommended plenty of videos reviewing or endorsing Fallout 1 and 2, many of which were uploaded pretty recently (clearly to take advantage of the IPs new popularity because of the show). No doubt these are going to be watched by many new fans also and hopefully bring some around to playing them. I started with Fallout 3 when it came out but eventually got caught up learning about all the lore from YT videos and the Wikis before eventually playing NV, 1 and 2. These are now my favourites and although I can still enjoy 3 it's easy to see it's just not up to par with the rest and I wouldn't recommend it.

There's no reason new TV show fans can't go down the same road if they really dig Fallout that much. We should welcome them. I anticipate the show will not have much staying power in the long run, it looks the same as every modern show.

As much as I fucking hate the Fallout show it did crazy numbers and was stupid popular with normies.

We're never getting a serious/semi serious Fallout game ever again.

Fallout 5 isn't projected to come out until like 2030 but when it does it's going to be cartoony Borderlands bullshit complete with dancing deathclaws and "lol supermutant titties" humor.

I unironically want to go back to high school when normies completely ignored nerdshit.

Will not be surprised if Microsoft or Bethesda try to accelerate the release of a Fallout game just to have more "synergy" with the TV show.

Modern day Bethesda is even less competent than 2012 Obsidian.

I can't even imagine how broken their version of an 18 month dev cycle game would be.

It probably wouldn't even launch. I mean Starfield allegedly had an 8 year dev period and it looks and plays like shit.

they could do a smaller scope fallout game more akin to their older games with some qol features of the modern day while fallout 5 is on the backburner
of course it'll never happen but a man can dream

If anyone needs a reason to replay Fallout 2 right now I recommend to try out Ecco mod, difficulty was a bit higher than vanilla, and the start of the game was pretty brutal, but most of the changes and additions were pretty nice, if I knew more about it beforehand I would definitely go for a melee/throwing build, as there are a lot more things to choose from, throwing in general got buffs and implemented crafting system gives a few more options, especially for early game, can't say that all of sticks perfectly, but for a refresher to change up the gameplay it definitely hit the spot, plus I've never did a complete playthrough with restoration project and since the mod requires it to work it just felt like a good excuse to try it.

been replaying some fallout one with the fallout 2 mod. stole @God of Nothing unarmed build but decided to put on jinx instead of finesse. watching NPC keep drooping their guns or ammo is always a treat. i kinda miss being able too shoot stuff but unamred combat dose have its moments (like kicking the ass of the Khan leader in a one-on-one fight).

@God of Nothing how do you tackle most enemies. for me, i kick them in the head until they fall down and then go for the eyes. is there a better tactic?

just go for the eyes
it kills most people
for deathclaws, you need to hit their legs id you don't have the power fist

I think you can get a powerfist from the Brotherhood of Steel if you agree to do the scouting quest for them. Costs nothing and probably the easiest way to get it.

Someguy2000 just deleted his Nexusmods and YouTube accounts.

His mods are still up for now but I'd grab them because you never know what the Nexus is going to do.
Okay, what the fuck happened now? I know modders are notoriously unstable but something had to trigger him.

so power fits exist in the game? where do i find one?
Boneyard from the gun runners and BoS. It's pretty late. I heard sometimes that one merchant in the Hub's old town can sell it, but it's expensive as fuck.

No real statement past a pinned post on the New Vegas Bounties LE page saying "Someguy2000 has left the building. We will miss him."
I heard he was already pretty much done with the modding scene anyways so who knows, maybe he finally bit the bullet and left for good.
