Fallout series

And also karma determining how lucky \ successful you are at the end. Karma never worked like this in any other Fallout, it just determined how various people react to you.
In Tactics, Karma effects which ending you will get if you plug your brain in the Calculator, he is right about that. Similarly, in New Vegas you also get slightly different slides for the ending depending on your karma, at least for House.

Everyone says Fallout 4: London is great, any truth to that?
It is decent, definitely a proper Fallout experience, but not quite as good as what people were expecting. History is repeating itself, New Vegas had New California and Fallout 4 has London, both are unfinished and unpolished but both have something good to offer if you're willing to look into them. Both are definitely better than Fallout 76.

I dunno about New California offering anything really good. It's linear, too huge in terms of gaming space (it's really nice they got all this territory created, but you can't leave this much empty space in a game, unless empty space is a point, which it's not), the story is like 14yo worte it. Just my opinion.

It plays and feels like a proper oldschool Fallout game translated into 3D. The start is the best and it peeters out as it goes along, but that's because it is quite literally unfinished, like London. Exploring is worthless and there is few worthwhile sidequests, but what's there is pretty good. I don't think anybody really praises the story, it's there to explain why your character is able to continue their game in Fallout New Vegas proper.
It's a neat little stopping gap between Fallout 2 and New Vegas, if that's what you're looking for then New California is a perfect mod. It shouldn't really be treated as a DLC sized expansion, because it's not. It's got plenty of issues, but most of them do just stem from being unfinished, it definitely should have spend more time in the oven.

How much did they change from Fallout 4? Cause I fucking hate that game.
It's Fallout 4 if it was set in UK, entirely within the Boston-like Downtown area(along with it's massive framedrops) but is a proper RPG in return. If that doesn't sound like your game, I'm afraid you're not going to find much here.

Speaking of which, if you're playing along, here is 1.02 version of my personal little module:

Changes:
*Turpentine now gives oil
*All versions of the basic Teddy Bear give more cloth(I heard there is different variants of them, those haven't been touched)
*Several medical items have had their crafting requirements change to make more sense
*Envelopes now properly give paper
*XYZ Cleaner and it's stronger variant now properly give paper(Note: This is NOT a renamed Abraxo Cleaner, and for some reason you will still find these out and about, I have not changed that. These Abraxo Cleaner items look identical to XYZ Cleaner so I assume this is an oversight)
*Nodding Cow items now give ceramic instead of wood
*Eton Mess now properly weights 1 instead of 0.1, along with other food items
*Oversight fixed with the scrap paper item: If you had any leftover from a workbench, the scrap paper item would not give you actual paper and would be worthless. Name for Paper also capitalized now
*Mittenlurk cakes now no longer have water breathing effect(Aquaboy is gone and with the radiation in the water, swimming is no longer an option anyways) and weights 1 as it did in Fallout 3. In return, it restores more health
*You're Special! book from base Fallout 4 is still in the game files, for some reason, and renamed to "Mr. Special". Renamed this item back to "You're Special!" and placed it in the intro at the laboratory, soon after you start the game. I haven't tested it, but it should work just like it did in Fallout 4, ie give you a free SPECIAL point. I heavily suggest playing with the classic SPECIAL mod(that gives you 40 SPECIAL points like in the other games but prevents you from ever raising them) to get the most out of it
*I found another unused item, "Mr Piccadilly". Due to the current limitations of editing the game in the GECK, I can't actually see what this is, but I placed it in the game world, just like Doll's Head item
Speaking of which, I found one out and about. This is how it looks like:
doll.png
This is probably found in the standalone Point Lookout mod for Fallout 4, but if it's not then us and the devs are the only people that have ever seen it

I am thinking of changing the "Body Type" message at the start of the game and the cringy paypig name terminal at the start at some point, but I'm lazy. Hoping someone else will do it for me.

lacks any player useable power armor.
I'd say that makes sense, only America and China readily made them, and even then Chinese PA was made of Chinesium like everything from over there. Fucking chinks and their cheap bullshit. Anyway, not even Europe developed or anywhere else PA for that matter.
I saw a Morrowind version as well.
Changes: *Snip*
You know what, I like these changes. Basic changes but it's the little thing, you know?
New California's or Frontier's lows.
At least NC had a joinable Enclave. I can't really remember much from that mod and most of what I remember sounds like a fever dream. "America man was actually a clone of a mutant girlboss or some shit who was tortured into being a military drill sergeant sounding guy. Also you blow up Hopeville because you had completely different launch codes in your pipboy and those apparently worked and automatically transmitted, also you survived the nuclear explosion and having all your skin melted and irradiated but you lost your super regen plot bullshit, also-" I could go on with what sounds fucking insane from that mod. Only part I can remember back fondly is having high luck and a random ass missile blows up the second in command of the BBEG Mutant, and after reloading a save and seeing where it takes me, escaping the bullshit difficult mutant dungeon because I duffed the Second in Command in the face after the dialogue ended and stole his minigun as my companions (that they didn't lock up or take the items from) mowed down everyone else, especially that big ass robot. Speaking of mutants, the Mutant bad ending was actually kind of horrifying if completely moronic, like most of the endings. Seriously I understood very little of the story since it's insanely easy to accidentally(?) skip major parts of the plot and suddenly you're fighting super-super mutant clone twin things. I actually found a MikeBurnFire video that looks pretty helpful in understanding the plot but it's MikeBurnFire, fuck 'em. Well the fat one, Mike, especially during the Frontier situation. Basically he got pissy since he was a voice actor on the Frontier and everyone was shitting on the Frontier. So he basically dismissed any concerned and chocked it up to it being a bunch of haters, Zach largely stayed out of it. I think he about faced and deleted the community posts, comments, and video shitting on people who hated Frontier (he only even did it because he accociated people attacking the mod that he "worked" on as people attacking him personally) when the accusations really went into overdrive. Holy shit I did not mean to type all this.

I'm not saying its a bad thing, it does give Folon a very different difficulty when you can't just stream roll raiders in X-01, but at the same time I wish we could find a frame and some armor after a hard ass dungeon. Isn't like its totally absent either, several NPCs wear it and you can find parts of Power Armor around the map, just none of it is useable.
Bit a spoiler, but underneath the US Embassy there is a unused dungeon, its 100% complete but lacks any end reward. The final fight is against a sentry bot and I think if after that you could get a set of T-51 or even T-45 power armor that would be sick.

There is already a mod that adds three suits of power armor to the game right there btw. I heavily suggest a lore-friendly mod that makes fusion cores unlimited in use as well, I mean where are you going to find more?

Don't forget raiders too
Story is fucking stupid, but honestly I appreciate that the game lets you see the exact point in time when NCR really started fucking up, as of F2 you only see the start of what's to come since Tandi is still in power but corruption and incompetence is in full force as of NC. Same deal with the mutants, while the plot point of the fertile mutants and you being a chosen one(never confirmed to be the clone of the VD btw, this was a misunderstanding and one of the scientist mutants basically bullshit The Father into believing this. That's the irony, but it's never told to a player outside one terminal) is fucking stupid I do appreciate that the mod shows what happened to Mark, who is mentioned in the very first game and seems to have been very important in the background of setting up The Unity. Due to their remote location in Fort Daggerpoint, they were able to avoid the wrath of the Vault Dweller and work on the cure, I assume they are what Lou refers to when he says that "we are working out the kinks" in the original game.

I might try the mod out later, also I've managed to find 10 or so fusion cores from looted enemies, I think my loot tables might be fucked anyways, keep getting lever action rifles too.
If they're wearing surely you can pickpocket the fusion core to get them out of it and use it yourself when they're not looking, right?
I did some testing and as far as I can tell, NPCs are hard programed to not exit power armor at all, the Fusion cores don't even show up in the inventory when pickpocketing.

Released 1.03 version of my mod for London

Changelog:
*Items like raw Apples and Pears gave out paltry, single digit healing. Changed that to more appropriate 10-30 HP, they do weight 1 after all
*The "You're Special!" book you use(that I added last update) is supposed to stay in your inventory instead of being used up. That item now has weight and is worth paper, just like any other book
*Branded cigarettes now give paper instead of cloth, just like generic variants
*Antibiotics now heal radiation and cure addictions on top of healing limbs. Haven't tested the effect yet, but if the addictions aren't healed for some reason I will fix that later
*Cooking overhaul: To cook raw meat and turn it into steak, stews or to ground it, you now need Animal Friend perk. More advanced recipes require rank 2. You can still turn the meat into soups and pizza without any perk requirements if you lack the Charisma, or eat it raw. Bug meat recipes uneffected.
*Some food recipes altered so they require one piece of meat or so that they give out multiple items per serving
*Human Flesh requires rank 1 of Cannibal to prepare. Meat pies(there is several) require second rank, they seem to be some of the best food items around
*For some baffling reason, Sleipnir(irradiated horses) do not have a steak recipe, they only have raw meat. They can now be cooked into steaks, thinking of a Animal Friend rank 2 recipe to turn them into a Lasagna in the future.

"The NCR has been destroyed!"
Fans: OMG, how? Did their rapid expansion was their undoing? Was corruption too much to handle the political system? Did The Legion was able to infil-
"No no, none of that. It was an angry cucked incel with a nuke."
Fans:.....................really? Just one nuke?
"Yes, just one Nuke. At the capital."
Fans: Okay but how about other major locations of the NCR?
"Ehh, they are ruins too."
Fans: How?
"Without the capital, these cities could never be self sustainable."
Fans: You ARE aware that most of these communities existed before the NCR even existed right?
"Hold on, let me check the wiki real qui-"
Fans: Okay okay okay, what happened to the integrated Super Mutants?
"Oh, we are saving them for Season 2...we think. They will make for a good enemy force."
Fans: But why? The Supermutants in the West are smart and many of them wanted to live peaceful lives!
"Because of the NCR's fall!"
Fans: THEY THRIVED BEFORE THE NCR!!
"....You think we can have supermutant raiders? Hmm.......Let me check the wiki-"
Fans: You clearly have no idea on what you are doing. Idk even where to start with these baffling creative decisions!
"Hey, our writers played the classic games!"
Fans: WHEN?!
"20 years ago. They said they have a good memory"
Fans: So you just destroyed one of the biggest factions, not through their established flaws that could spell their doom but because of a cucked OC of yours that somehow led the west coast into devolving into a wild west akin to the East.
"Yes."
Fans: And there are so many unanswered questions it boggles the mind.
"Well, thats for Season 2 writers to figure it out. Or was it Season 3, I cant recall..."
Fans: You have officially destroyed this franchise.
"Hey, I have plenty of fans to defend our honor. They have the integrity of thieves and the attention span of gen alphas but they know the lore as well as you! We compensate them with exposure and vault boy merchandise....Oh hey, where did you all go? Oh look, they left something behind. Omg, its a toy fatman! With a card on it! Lets read it, 'it is not a toy fa-' "

why? the tv show changed the canon so everything he said about the other guy was 100% on the money. In a way the TV show changed him to the Josh Moon of the Fallout universe: An asshole with an ego who hated the exact right people for the exact right reasons and did everything in his power to stop them and post-war was relatively content being constantly hunted by monsters.

There is your first mistake, taking the TV show as canon.
