Cgy95, the guy who made the quest mods The Deterrent and Race to the Bottom made a new quest mod called Suspicious Minds. Just released and I don't believe I've played his mods before so I can't comment on it, if anyone knows of those two mods then feel free to share with us the quality of said mods.
The Deterrent was a pretty interesting mod. Fairly combat heavy but an interesting quandary right at the end I won't spoil. Overall quality was pretty solid. Haven't played the other two, but unfortunately I've already got a hefty mod list.

Yeah, IIRC the original New Vegas design doc had plans for a few Legion towns on the other side of the river so a player could compare them to NCR lands and decide for themselves.
There's actually a mod looking to do just that called Nova Arizona I think? I'm intending to try it out whenever they finally finish the Functional Post Game Ending patch.

I'll need to look into that. As you say, FPGE compatibility is a pretty big deal.

Hey, didn't know we had a fallout thread here. I don't get why people say New Vegas is unplayable without mods. I did my first run unmodded and it was fine.
Well yes, even on console the game "works" and you theoretically can beat it.
There's just a very high chance of a lot of things going wrong while you're trying to do it without many of the usual fix mods.

Dude literally mercy killed his wife so the Legion wouldn't have their way with her, but also didn't know she was pregnant when he did it. Like, goddamn dude. It kind of explains why he's so fucked up really. If there's anyone that's earned being able to be dark and brooding it's probably Boone.
and he is my sweet precious boy because of that
my courier and him shall have 10 babies who kill slavers after school

Mentioned that before, still have not gotten around to testing it yet. I am quite concerned given how much modders are into politics, especially far left leaning politics, and the recent Redditry makes it worse. Modders almost always shove unneeded and unnatural (their) politics in their shit and miss the entire point of Fallout...well, NV. So I expect the Legion to be quite shit on that mod. Pessimistic I know...

I just crashed a few times, that's it.
Well you're one of the lucky ones since there's quite literally mountains of things that can bug out. From quests not completing to perks breaking, ect.
It'd be a novel if I sat here and listed off all of the known bugs in the vanilla game.

In fact there's thousands of "subtle" bugs too that you probably encountered but didn't even notice because there's just so much shit in the game it's hard to remember how everything is supposed to go and or function.

EDIT: I think there's a couple of perks that just straight up do not work as well.

Played it unmodded for years. while it is playable, it runs and chugs like ass. when you notice the shutter, you cant unsee it and will make you sick to your stomach.

no you must pay nexus mods 7 dollars a month for over 6 gb worth of bloat from this install guide from (popular faloout tuberrr)
sometimes the mods will come with so much bloat you will accidentally install fallout new vegas for a third possibly even forth time ( based on file size nv is 10gb with all dlc ) if you miss like 1 or 2 check boxes that are really tiny or miss a file/config tweak or bug fix that causes memory issues or crashes.

You don't have to pay Nexus money at all to use it though?
You need an account to download now but that's about it.
Maybe it's just because I have good internet but the download speed penalty for not paying for Nexus gold or whatever the fuck they call their bullshit is negligible.
Honestly, if anyone is paying them money they're fucking suckers.

iirc the download cap for free users is 2mb/s which isn't all that big of a deal anyway. The bigger benefit is how it prompts you with a free vs premium choice every single time you download a file
