the combat shotgun is such a bizarre choice because the fallout 1/2 combat shotgun was also a fictional gun, a mag fed bullpup, which is fine its future-y.
The choice to make the fallout 3 combat shotgun a bizarre frankenstein thing made up of a ww2 era soviet smg is utterly strange because the r91 and the chinese AR
at least make sense. g3ish gun = US; ak-ish gun = chicoms. It works, they're both tweaked a bit to be a bit more fallout-y/ambiguous
Winchester City Killer is a functional design and in-line with how early Fallout portrayed fictional firearms. "Combat Shotgun" from Fallout 3 is a result of someone not knowing how firearms work, taking a look at a PPSh, and proclaiming "Yup, that's a shotgun!" At least the G3 and AK Chinese Assault Rifle make sense, even if the latter seems to be bastardized as well, but to your average normalfag at least it looks like an AK.
This is more a symptom of Bethesda's retarded gun logic, or lack there of due to them not knowing how it works. When they were in charge of designing every single gun in Starfield, EVERY firearm is now a Combat Shotgun tier abomination. Even real world based "Old Earth" firearms are abominations. I suggest looking at the above Starfield video, it goes in-depth on how these guns should not exist, and how they COULD be fixed to be functional fictional firearms. There really is no excuse.
FO4's arsenal is a huge mix of discrepancies and outdated visions.
I mean, Id Tech literally helped in the gunplay part of the game. Why Bethsoft doesn't ask about their own guns.
Adam was a important art designer. It's sad how FO4 went to a strange directions which culminated in FO76.
IMO, i don't care; i miss grenade launchers. The most close thing in FO4 is a stupid explosive combat shotgun (more broken than you think, thought).
FO4 tried with the Next-Gen update but as per usual its not even integrated in the leveled lists. It also uses vanilla animations because of course it does. Would it be so hard to backport the M79 from FO76?
in FO3 I'd even go so far as to say they were a part of the story. NV did even better with this. FO4 drops all of this and weapons are nothing more than gameplay objects. They are lore afterthoughts.

I think it's telling that most new weapons in Fallout 76 are just real life firearms, those that were modded into Fallout 4 years ago and look better there mind you. It's an admission of defeat, in my eyes.
There is a few instances of weapons being connected to the in-game lore. For example, Gamma Guns are implied to be designed by Children of Atom, same with the Far Harbor DLC Radium Rifles. Laser Muskets are made with salvaged AER/AEP Laser parts attached to a fake musket from the Museum of American History in Concord, fitting weapon for Minutemen, and Handmade Rifles would have been a nod to AKs in Fallout Tactics(favorite among Raiders there too), if anyone at Bethesda even knew that game existed. Other than that, I am drawing a blank, but to be fair, worldbuilding in Fallout 4 was dogshit in general. You can't expect much from the game that thought "Kid in the Fridge" was a good idea.
FO3 and NV both got multiple replays and probably at least a thousand hours out of me over the last 15 years.
FO4 got one playthrough. The biggest little thing that turned me off was the dialogue and having to wait on people to finish sentences instead of displaying it all on the screen. I read quickly so having the dialogue remove reading on both ends just really bogged the game down for me. Least this is what I recall whenever I played it upon release.

That's fair. After playing Morrowind I've come to appreciate voiced dialogue more but I understand that once you get all the info you need there's no reason to keep talking.
I would give it another shot. I'm playing vanilla right now and I'm mostly enjoying it. Don't play melee though. the melee combat in 4 is atrocious, definitely find a mod to fix that.
So I actually know a few tidbits about this guy. He used to go by Urias back in the days when Fallout: The Frontier was the big thing of the day in the FNV modding scene and he's such a fucking sperg to the point he got kicked from the Frontier team, which was already a hive of autism.
Ever since he was kicked from the team, he has had an autistic obsession with them (in particular he has a fixation on Phobos95 [Canuck Faglord] and Rikkurikku [Also Canuck, but replace the politisperging with weebshit and goonerism]) calling it all a big pedophile cabal (the only confrimed pedo IIRC was ZuTheSkunk, who both him and a good chunk of his contributions to the project got nuked) and also lumps another mod author, Th3Overseer, in with it because the man got banned from said mod author's discord server for continually getting into retarded slapfights with the two canucks. He and his buddy PaladinHoss began a series of """""GayOps""""" (basically just Urias joining on under an alt and flaming for a bit before getting nuked again) for a time against Th3's Malcontents server to fuck all effect, before eventually fading into irrelevance until he rebranded as Zapshock, had a falling out with Hoss, and took over NM from the old project lead, Vera, who I don't really know much about.
Back during those times he had a particular focus on proving the Frontier Team were pedos (he seems to have a fixation on pedos in general given a few other things down below, which gives me certain ideas), alongside his buddy PaladinHoss:
THE CHILD LINGERIE GUY CONNECTION:
After a particularly heated argument with Phobos on the Malcontents server, it was pointed out that Urias is friends on Nexus with a man by the name of 'TaziporaHalevia.'
Tazipora's mod, 'Jocelyn Child Companion,' contains the following folder in the textures:
Now, I'm not opening that shit for obvious reasons, but even if whatever's in there is benign, that's still an incredibly questionable naming convention.
How close are they really? I don't know. It could be nothing, they could be the bestest buddies, either way, when you take the next section in mind...
SONG OF TEARS:
Song of Tears is an unreleased mod made by Urias and shared only with a select few people. It is filled to the brim with stolen Oblivion assets, very shitty dialogue filled with juvenile levels of swearing and also bizarre slang unfitting in the world of Fallout, terrible VA work, very odd things like one of the characters having a custom skeletonized fetus tattoo, and a plot centering around trying to rescue a 11 year old child from a strip club that doubles as a whorehouse, whom you never actually save.
Videos of a discord stream of the mod here:
(I'd upload the archived videos but my internet's fucked right now so I'll do it later when it's not all messed up.)
CONCLUSION:
Putting these things together, alongside his general fixation with trying to bust pedos, makes me think he's projecting big time and likely has several skeletons in the closet. I could be jumping at shadows with this, I'll fully admit that, but even if he's not a pedo, he's very clearly quite retarded.

What a rabbithole. Thanks for sharing.
I guess that does mean he could be retarded enough not to know who ICE are. Funny how there are more autistic modders out there than the Frontier freaks.

People have bought into the /v/ psyops that New Vegas modding scene is full of troons. Truth is that it's full of furries and psychos like that, Bethesda side of the fanbase is the one filled to the brim with all sorts of LGBT mental illness flags(and they project, as they always do).
New Vegas scene is full of weirdoes, F4 scene is dead(unless you count tacti-coomers), really only the very inactive classic Fallout modding scene is chill and somewhat normal. Come to think of it, there is a reason I barely ever interacted with the community outside of posting on NMA or bullying Bethesdatards for the hell of it.

The /v/ psyops isn't all lies. from my own experience on Nexus I've seen more trannies on NV, but 4 has its own fair share though. 3 is dead though outside of TTW so none there. the few that do still mod 3 seem to be trying to port as much content from NV over as they can without violating TOS. Classic seems normal. I don't care for NMA though. The horseshoe theory not may not apply to real life politics but it sure does apply to Fallout fans and their fanaticism.
There are sane modders for all games though, but from what I've seen its few and far between.

There is definitely trannies in the NV side of things, but there is vastly more of them on Bethesda side of things, with many of them playing Fallout 76. If you want to see a good example of one, there is thread on Sinseer here somewhere, a 76 tranny doxed by a pizza delivery man.
Anyways, I've personally seen Bethesda fanboys spreading this psyops in action, they are definitely the ones pushing it since, in their own words, New Vegas is "too successful" and "people who play it deserve it". In other words, jealousy over a 15 year old game being more successful than their own Toddslop.
Like I said, FNV modding community is full of it's own problems, but this one specifically is overblown by bad actors. Talking about NV also takes away attention from Fallout 76 child grooming rings on discord, ran by trannies of course, but I digress.
That same guy made a video on Starfield's guns, which is just the natural evolution of the abominable Mengele tier creations Todd and his no-gunz studio brought us in Fallout 3 and 4
First thing, I re-watched these two videos to see if I was going too harshly on Bethesda earlier. No, their gun designers are absolute morons who don't know how to design firearms, and the fact this is more visible in Starfield where they had to design it from scratch than any Fallout game highlights this perfectly. Preaching to the choir here, I am sure, but there seemed to be some people who somehow defended these retarded designs. Anyways, moving on...
Looks like he recently started a series on everything wrong with weapons in Fallout London, if you want to have a watch. It should be noted that vast majority of these weapons aren't new, but existing Fallout 4 mods ported over
...I do want to make an observation here: The third and first person animations shown here are different than what I remember, as I spend at least half of my playthru in Power Armor(which is normally unobtainable without mods but works...mostly fine). Something of note is that some of these Power Armor animations are very different, likely stock Fallout 4 animations, other times some guns wouldn't work at all in Power Armor, other times they would but only in third person, where they also recycled generic Fallout 4 animations. It varied wildly gun by gun, even those that WERE in Fallout 4, for example I found a base 10mm Pistol, not normally obtainable in London and I am not sure if by some glitch or through a mod conflict. Anyways, this gun would simply not work in first person with Power Armor, when it obviously works fine in Fallout 4, it did work fine in third person however. That said, I did see many of these animations for the first time in these videos, and oh boy, some of these are janky. Funnily enough, I think the rougher, but more standardized Power Armor animations might be better for some of those guns.
Also, I take it back, I remember this Lewis Gun looking much better in London than it actually does. To my credit, I was not doing a heavy weapons build, and if I was I would likely use a Bren(which is fine) or cheat in a Minigun anyways(not actually available in the mod like the 10mm but in theory perfectly usable if spawned in). Fallout Tactics Lewis IS a perfect replica, so I was half right.
Literally his grandchild lol, but due to having been living in the wasteland their entire life the Chosen One would be considered a mutant in the same way the Enclave looked at the wastelanders in Fallout 3.
Whoever said he was making this up so he could quit, I think you called it. Except nobody believed him so now he's quitting anyway and crying "muh safety, muh racism"
