There is an unmarked suicide quest in Fallout 3 too. Old Man Lopez in Rivet City tells you he's depressed, and the residents will tell you that he spends all day watching the city from the top of the ship. If you go there when he's doing just that, you can tell him to jump off for evil karma. Alternatively, you can just push him physically, like you can push any NPC with enough effort, and he will die from fall damage near the bridge. You won't get any evil karma for that, tho.

Drugs last a long time when you've got chemist/Day tripper/ the turbo extender.

That, and you'll have a practically unlimited supply of steady after a certain casino opening.

It also boosts stealth boys, you can get 20min game time from each if you have the granny, 10 min otherwise.

Same for Death Stranding, you get orders for massive amounts of sleeping pills from one depressed old guy.

I hate synths and the institute and think that the world of Fallout would be better off without them and the implications of their tech. I also think this about the big MT but to a lesser extent (I think cazadores, nightstalkers, etc are cooler if they’re the result of, you know, FALLOUT)

Boulder Dome of Van Buren was a good compromise between grounded, very real problems they are facing and probable tech and science advancements for the Fallout universe that can be used to solve them. It helps that in-lore, that is where Power Armor and Bio-Med gel were created, among other things so there is a reason for it's existence and high-tech research facilities. Big MT and Institute are a bit too sci-fi for my liking and I feel they only exist to give devs carte blanche to make whatever they want. for example synths, new mutants ect.

What help would the source code for ancient games made in the 90s be for Bethesda? I know these faggot journos don't play games, but I guess they don't know how they work, either.
Also, 1-1 remakes of F1/F2 aren't happening. Todd wants people to forget these games, this is why the TV show is a "reboot" that wipes the slate clean, both physically by bombing West Coast back to stone ages and metaphorically, by destroying the canon of Black Isle/Obsidian titles. Thankfully, there is that Russian team working on a F2 remaster in the F4 engine, F1 projects are sadly always cursed to be cancelled halfway thru and we will probably never see a 3D recreation.

Given the fact that there has been F1 in F2 for ages, it's not that much of a stretch to stick F1 in F2 in a 3D recreation once Arroyo and its time is done.
yes i know this is incredibly optimistic and i largely share your opinion otherwise

As Pre-War America in Fallout is stuck in an era of 1950s Americana, Post-War America is forever trapped in a wasteland without end.

If you're asking for Fallout 1 in Fallout 2's engine, this already exist. The most recent overhaul is Fallout Et Tu, which is exactly that. A lot of improvements and general quality of life changes from a superior engine, it's the best way to play Fallout 1 today and a successor to the previous overhaul project, Fallout Fixt(which I personally still use since I am too lazy to bother).
