Are there NV mods that 1) disable the auto reload, and 2) account for "missed" pellets in VATS?

Been a while since I played NV, but in vanilla shotguns were useless in VATS (only the pellets that hit targeted body part counted, what would've hit elsewhere on target didn't register at all). And low ammo, slow reloading guns required leaving the last round in if you wanted to switch to another gun quickly, since emptying them would trigger an uninterruptible reloading animation.

Beats me, as I use neither mods nor VATS. Have you considered just not using VATS? Not needing to recharge action points means you don't need Jet anymore, so can do Diane's quest at the Red Rock Drug Lab and get the recipe for crafting it all into Turbo. (Warning: you will also need cazador venom glands.)

Sorry if this has been discussed already but I think having both Nate and Nora survive the beginning of Fallout 4 would have been better. It would work this way, they are like a playable follower. You can have them tag along, or switch between controlling both. Or leave them at a settlement, maybe even switch control remotely just like in GTAV.

The pair would be unstoppable: ex-soldier and a smart lawyer together with a very focused goal of finding their son. It could be much more like a classic role playing game where teammates play a role like tank, DPS, support, or silver tongue bard. Nate does the heavy lifting while Nora is more diplomatic, wise, and basically does the talking. Or customize them any way you like with a muscular wife carrying her autistic husband. The dialogue between the two could be very cute and funny as well. I think it would be very popular with the audience to fully customize your waifu/husbando.

In the beginning of the game, the storyline is basically unchanged. Find Shaun, and go through Kellogg to do so.But after that, when they find Shaun, everything gets complicated on what they both should do.

I can see Nate liking the Brotherhood of Steel more, him having a military background. Nora? I’m not sure, maybe being partial to the Institute. And it could lead to a massive fight between the couple unless you find a way to convince each other to remain together. Or if you want to have a sad ending, maybe they part ways and each other could be their own final boss.

Discuss.

I think Fallout 4 is dogshit.

I don’t think of you at all

That's a great idea, but unfortunately we're dealing with Bethesda so it was never going to work. There is a mod out there that lets you save your spouse and recruit her/him but I never tried it, apparently they speak just like the player character would so they're quite chatty and responsive to the environment, interject a lot in conversations too.

That doesn't fix one of the biggest problems with Fallout 4's story, which Sseth pointed out at the time of release: You get thawed out just to see your baby get kidnapped, then frozen again, and when you're thawed out and released, you should have no idea whether your son is even alive or not, since you don't know if it's been 5 years or 150 years since he was taken.

Patrician TV can only wish he could create such masterful Bethesda game reviews.
His Starfield one was even better.

Well I know there's one or two mods that add Nate/Nora (depending on who you play as) as a voiced follower, not so much the GTAV switch which could be interesting. If it wasn't in Fo4 at least. And they weren't voiced. Or they had unique dialogue options rather than two VA's recording the same line (Nate's VA is good at least).

There's at least one mod that does each separately, and then one that does check which one is present. Unfortunately i can't track down either of them because Nexus has broken their search for me yet a-fucking-gain, but i know they're still on there.

Outside of Sarcastic responses, this is probably my biggest gripe with the voiced protagonist and why i try to obliterate any line containing player voice into a silent file when possible. Sadly, modders are retarded and copy instead of read-from-existing for player dialogue half the time, and the other half you need XDI/FDI so that you even know what you're about to say- which is honestly the better outcome.

Nate's VA has to be at least a quarter of the lunatic that Nate is to have recorded those lines.

THere's a mod for that!

Edit: My links didn't come through!!

And if you're running F:NV, you can always give the "Tale of Two Wastelands" mod a run. For some (like me) it's the only way to run FO3.

Anyone bummed about the long ago cancelled Tactics 2? Where you'd actually get to play a truly hardcore villainous Brotherhood coming off the 'bad' ending of the original Tactics?

Such as shame so many of the ideas and plotlines of Tactics were massively downgraded in the future canon games.
