Why does nobody care about the biggest leak in Fallout history since Van Buren prototypes?
No one plays games modded. Not even Fallout or Elder Scrolls. Someone at Bethesda said that before mods were in the download stores it was well under 10% of users playing any of their games modded (one developer said it was even just 1%). The overwhelming majority of Fallout and Elder Scrolls fans still play the standard versions. When Skyrim launched it was 60% of copies going to the Xbox 360 alone and only 15% to PC. Lots of people still play these games on older consoles with no mods and likely have no idea that these games even have a modding community.

Only hardcore fans mod games. Only older hardcore fans have even heard of Van Buren. That's why no one cares. The fans of New Vegas mostly came around after Fallout 3. They haven't played Fallout 1 and 2 or lurked at NMA. They just like New Vegas because of the writing like everyone else. And they like the New Vegas that they played on their 360s.

Anyone know of a bug that randomly causes npcs to turn hostile in new vegas?
Turned in a quest at the wrangler and after bumping into the ghoul girl she started shooting me alongside one of the garret twins.
Couple hours later im telling the ncr ambassador about the boomer support and upon leaving his office a military police npc told me the ncr wanted me dead and started shooting.

Was it like this?
It's supposed to trigger when you have Don't Tread on the Bear active, but people in the comments are saying it can just happen sometimes. I know you can also get confronted by MPs when you have a bad rep on the Strip.

As for the Freeside thing, what's your reputation like there? What's the status of the King's Gambit quest? It's probably just the game bugging out, in any case.

No, but that's life in Freeside for ya.

Very high and i used my favor to end the violence against ncr
Yeah, that's just the game being retarded, then, sorry.

X-posting this from @batteredpancakes' post in the Funny Pictures thread because, not only is it fascinating, it also gives some insight on where Caesar was coming from. I was definitely thinking about the way he described the tribes of Arizona when I read this.

Everything I have ever read about Hunter-gatherer life makes it sound so hellish and almost inhuman. I can very much imagine someone growing up educated in a monastery (as the FotA are essentially a monastic order in practice), encountering these retarded savages would be horrified by the basity and barbarity on display.

fallout 1 and 2 fucking sucked and the only good one in the entire ip is new vegas
What did you not like about fallout 1? I thought it stood up to the test of time pretty well when I played it a couple of years ago. Did not feel the same way about 2.
What builds should I try for my Mr. House run?
You could check out survival mode and the JSawyer mod stuff. I think Viva New Vegas has everything integrated from JSawyer's tweaks. As for builds there are some fun shotgun perks. I always wanted to do a heavy weapon build with rpgs and grenade launchers but never got around to it. There are some cool faction based take downs for unarmed if you are feeling masochistic. House has some golden boxing gloves in the casino too.

In a NCR/Yes Man ending, that works.
But in a Mr. House/Legion one, they are wiped out 100% except if you assassinate the faggot Pacer with House.

If you want the Kings to not be wiped out by Mr. House all you have to do is not tell the King that the NCR had tried to send a representative to meet with him. He'll have you back up Pacer in the fight against the NCR and the end slides will indicate that during the fight at Hoover Dam, the Kings took the opportunity to drive the NCR out of Freeside and that House saw this as proof that the Kings support an independent Vegas and he left them alone.

The funniest thing is apart from the Navajo and maybe the Apache, all the tribes in Arizona and New Mexico can be safely assumed to be whites-gone-native. Even the White Legs are literally just German tourists who got stranded and reverted to their natural ways.
Notice a pattern?

The prototypes are interesting, not as interesting as I would like as we know most of the cut content already but it's still a decent early look into the game's developmental history. I recognize the exact same graphical glitches seen in the TGS build TriangleCity has access to, and has since 2021 like the "half-face glitch" seen on Doc Mitchell
One more "fuck you" to this asshole for keeping all that to himself for at least 4 years now, just imagine how much more early content is in that build. Too bad nobody archived the video he made about it, and then shortly deleted it, probably on the advice of his discord tranny buddies who want to keep that knowledge in their exclusive circles. Should have done it myself but I only watched it once, figured a "preservation" channel wouldn't delete important information like this and only found out he did years later from one of my contacts. Now, watch as he makes a video about the leak and pretends all that is new to him, what a parasite.

Anyways, I'm more curious about the DLC early content. I've seen a hint of the Old World Blues VR room actually working, for example, if we could recreate that it would be great. Developmental information on the DLCs is much more limited compared to the main game, I would love to dig thru the files to see what has been deleted or what was in development at the time, especially with Dead Money and Honest Hearts which were once more grand in scope but had to be rushed due to deadlines.

wanted to mention some more cut weapons,
jean baptiste unique unarmed weapons (2009-2010 dumps)
railgun ammo (2009-2010 dumps) and 2 references to the WeapNVLightRailCannon in the july build compared to the final.

more references to big guns being a skill, would have actually been a good use for 2 handed rifles instead of just rocket launchers, grenade launchers, big machine guns and big energy weapons like in fallout 2/fallout new vegas

some more weapons
image.png
there were references found to 762 ammo, people have determined this might just be a carry over from van buren.
military shotgun, could be an early reference to dinner bell or completely different.
image.png
vr simulation weapons for hidden valley
image.png
theres references that they wanted a non sawn off double barrel shotgun in the game
image.png
baby launcher weapon
image.png
WeaponNVChineseMachineGun, a lot of these sequential images are from the 2009-2010 era so it was dropped from the game pretty early, but notice how it says machine gun and not rifle, this could suggest they wanted possible mirrors of some guns for chinese
image.png
cowboy perk had a chance to knock enemy guns out of their hand

all im saying is that it could have definitely provided some more variety for builds
I think if they decided to keep it in it would be closer to how FO2/FO3 does it by the end, the only weapon that I would foresee being in there besides the obvious ones which were holdovers from FO3 (flamer, minigun, etc.) would be something like the Light Machine Gun similar to how the M60 is a Big Gun in FO2.

Personally I do wish they kept it, since it would've provided more reasons to use heavy weaponry, and it would solve the weird issue that with Flamers being categorized as an energy weapon, I guess they're not really guns per se but outright calling them an energy weapon feels off too.

Man, why can't I just have a NEW New Vegas game
Because Todd fucking seethes that New Vegas, which was a project meant to basically bankrupt Obsidian for an easy hostile takeover, came out with a fraction the dev time of their own games and became the fanbase and critical darling. He despises it, and knows that if they hand off their IPs to another team the main studios will be even more evidently incompetent than they already are.

The fact Microsoft has not swooped in and given a team the IP to make a New Vegas style spinoff is fucking insane. We should not be waiting 15+ years for a sequel to an IP this large.
