Fallout series

Makes me wonder how much of a buggy mess it will be if there won't be modders. No unofficial patch or small band aids for their oversights or even fixes that fix what they break in their own updates.

I think I'll preorder the game to try the beta out. That way, I can give some impressions for you guys, and I could just cancel the preorder if I don't like it. I'm not as hyped for it as I usually am for a Bethesda game, but I'll go in with a clear mindset so that I can judge it on its own merits.

But what's interesting is Bethesda was making plenty of money off of CC already.

These are profit driven companies, there is never plenty for them, what corporation says "yeah we are making enough this is fine"

You forgot the missiles. How will there be an endgame or even good base building if people can just missile your ass into the ground?

I think the game will in the same vein as say The Division dark zone, and Metal Gear Survive. Your player stats and inventory will be the only thing to be permanent. The only chance for you to avoid your stuff getting nuked would probably be to play singleplayer, with an online connection required like The Division and MGSurvive.

I'm really wondering if they will seperate Co-op servers from straight PVP servers, so you could essentially play it as co-op fallout without worrying about griefers dropping in your game. And your settlement could then gain some measure of permanency.

Buttfuzzdumb is really grating in how it advertises just about everything now. They really love the "lol retro future" gimmick and their main focus always seems to be "EPIC EXPLOSIONS!!!!!!!!111". Combine that with their overindulgence in brand recognition and you get some of the most nauseating shit I've ever seen. It's like Gearbox + Disney Star Wars. And it's so fucking gay.
It looks pretty good
I will snap your neck in-between my thighs.

It looks like a good game, just not a good fallout game. /sneed

Seriously, it looks interesting. Can't say that Bethesda won't try new things right? I'll definitely keep an eye on this game and see how it turns out. If Bethesda can translate a Fallout-feel to a multiplayer experience well than I definitely see myself playing this with some of my buddies. It's not a day one buy though no matter how many times I'm told sweet little lies by Todd.

It baffles me that someone just tried to explain how Fallout 76 is more of a true RPG than the rest of the fallout games. All three comments are the person's reply btw.

I will say I like the idea of exploring a Fallout Wasteland with a friends or two but I do wonder how many things will function now. If its multiplayer vats can't be the same and you probably don't want to deal with stat allocation and perk management on the move since the world wouldn't be paused. I also can't imagine there being quests or NPCs to interact with or else another player could murder them as you are talking or just murder you unless they are in weapon free zones. Wonder how much it will deviate from the formula to make it a multiplayer experience.

I thought about stats and my fear is that Bethesda will outright remove them. There's already no reason for them to have Charisma with zero NPCs in the game.

Pre-ordering is a trap no matter who does it, in the current-day industry you are not guaranteed a polished product even after a paid beta. The same applies to the iPhone, why would anyone spend over a thousand dollars on something released with beta software?

I don't see anything wrong with that opinion, except that it's conflating western style RPG the genre and roleplay the activity. Even if the original RPGs were derived from playing D&D, they quickly ended up worlds apart from each other.

Anecdote: I have a few friends that MMO roleplay and they all seem to be excited for 76 being shoved online.

If Bethesda removes stats from 76, would they then push more towards traditional MMORPGs stat progression where you get XP depending on what weapon you use, how much you run, power armor use, etc etc? I wouldn't be 100% opposed to grinding, but grinding for the sake of grinding can get very old, very quickly. But it's also the only thing I can think that would bring people to keep playing "for years" to come.

Based on what I've seen, discussions on /fog/ and my own speculation, I think the SPECIAL system will stay in place but will play a different role. There seems to a number of "careers" the player can follow, and the stats are linked to them somehow. So there is still a use for stats like charisma and intelligence, but more in how you perform your role within the wasteland. How this is going to work, I have no idea, but it will definitely mean a departure from the old ways of doing things.

Can someone just get Obsidian to make an isometric Fallout RPG ala Pillars of Eternity? Do it on an indie budget. Get the interns to make it. As long as it's got some good stories and that classic Fallout aesthetic, I don't care I'll buy that shit. As for 76? No preorder from me. I'll wait until I've seen it in the wild for a few months before I even consider buying.

already pre-ordered. honestly wanted to try out a multi-player bethsoft game
I will suck your dick for so long that it might ache a little. CUnt.
