Fallout series

In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Todd had this to say about mod support:
"We love mods, and so we are 100 percent committed to doing that in 76 as well. We will not be able to do that at launch though. Our goal for launch—this is really new for us—is have a well-running, robust service, and then some period later, we're currently still designing what that service looks like, you'll be able to have your own private world and be able to mod it and do all of that. With our games, that's where the long-term life of them really is. That is trickier when you get into an online world, but we're definitely committed to that. It just won't be at launch."
Very vague and nonspecific answer. I get the feeling this promised mod support is just a euphemism for Creation Club bullshit and not proper Nexus mods.

Mods would be really easy to implement in "your own private world" if you could play the game offline.

I was thinking it was going to be half like how Skyrim/FO4 does it with their official mod upload service, the other half it'll likely be able to sync players together whenever you join a private server. What I'm thinking if this is the case, however, is that even on PC there'll be a cap to how much you can download at once when joining a server, or modded and unmodded servers will be separated so you can easily navigate between them.

then why would anyone stay in the capital wasteland when west virginia is so well off and very nearby

maybe they'll explain that though

Probably flat-out too dangerous. Gangers, super mutants, local wildlife...

The Capital Wastleland isn't Walt Disney World, but at least you know what to expect.

Insane vault dwellers in power armor that will fire nuclear missiles at your shack and then tee bag your corpse and say unkind things about your mother.

Yao guai who want to steal your intestines and your pic-a-nic basket.

It has been said there will be actual mod support, just not at release. Which is a fairly standard fare at this point. F4 had the exact same thing promised with the GECK coming out about a year later. It'll probably come in a little after Private Servers become a thing and they add in a "less seamless" server list option. like Fallout 4 there's likely to still be a bunch of shit to iron out despite the B.E.T.A trying to root out the worst of them.

Ok, so the Noclip documentary they broadcast last night put me way more in the mood for this game. They seem to be digging deep into the lore to justify shit, and it looks like a legitimately interesting thing. The Worldspace itself seems to be one of the most interesting and gives a more "hasn't been touched in 25 years" feel and apparently a lot of stumble upon locations.

Nooo you're in too deep! Don't believe Todd and his :feels::feels:sweet little lies:feels::feels:

That being said, though, if there's one thing that BGS still does well, it's making huge yet detailed worlds that are fun to explore. It may be a big damn puddle, but it's still fun to splash around in.

And this whole online thing reminds me way back when Quake came out. It was a great single and multiplayer game, the John Romero left and iD make Quake 2, which was a mediocre single player game, so when they made Quake 3 Arena, they just gave up on singleplayer entirely. And considering they own id, it seems like more than just a mere coincidence.

Brotherhood had superior training, weaponry, and armor but they had shit for numbers. Legion has the training, enough numbers to match the NCR, but shit for weaponry and armor. Don't know what the trooper outfit is actually made out of but if it's Kevlar, legionaries would have next to no or little trouble cutting through it into the man wearing it. Still pretty unbelievable that the Legion would manage to beat the NCR with their football armor. I usually install mods to get them outfitted into something more intimidating and resistant to bullets. No fun killing swathes of them if its easy. Base game centurion armor looks and works pretty fine though.
