Fallout: The Frontier - Done, and it's a hilarious shitshow

I hope they all get the cold shoulder
I don't think they will. Sure, the people who wrote all that sex shit and the NCR campaign are going to get the cold shoulder, but the other story writers and the technical team are probably going to get some cred, because one thing they did do well in this mod was take an outdated game engine and add features like vehicle driving. There's enough people who got impressed with all the boom-fiestas and technical stuff that being able to put that in your resume will get you some good attention.

It's down right amazeing they was able to do most of the shit they did, in this janky engine.
The smart modders might scope up the devs who did the scripts.

as far as I know the truly impressive features were added by the mod's original developer. (Most of the mod's creators joined later, not all of them have worked on it for 7 years. The guy Tyler interviewed only joined in 2015). He created the NCR campaign and was blamed for its linearity and lack of quality. He also created things like the drivable vehicles and so forth.

The statement you saw was a bald-faced lie. Most of the technichal shit was done by a user named Devilswish, who joined the project 2 years into development, made everything they wanted to do possible (and then some), and then bailed from the project under circumstances that are not clear at this time.

My point exactly. The major plus from this mod was the technical shit, and a lot of people creamed themselves just watching the cooler aspects of the mod and knowing it was done with an engine that was beginning to show its age before Skyrim showed up. Other mod creators were probably taking notes when watching the cutscenes and the vehicular combat. And given how the mod crashed and burned, and all that technical stuff went to waste, the mod's technical team probably want to go for greener pastures and go find some mod makers who aren't paste-eating retards when it comes to storytelling.
He created the NCR campaign and was blamed for its linearity and lack of quality.
The guy took the most technically brilliant part of the mod and just made a Call of Duty ripoff with it.

If I want tank/infantry/aircraft battles, I'd rather go play the Halo games, the classic Battlefront games, Mass Effect 1, or the Transformers Cybertron games.

Sure, making a Call of Duty-esque mod is fine, if it could be nuanced. But the story made no sense and was cliche as hell, borrowing scenes from Halo Reach, Wolfenstein, Call of Duty, and many other franchises to the point where it doesn't have an original bone in its body.

Not to mention the fact that General Blackthorn, a guy that the mod makers clearly want you to sympathize with, is an abject moron who made things objectively worse for his men. Instead of fighting the Legion on Hoover Dam with the rest of the NCR backing him up, he's fighting the Legion in Portland AFTER cutting himself off from the NCR because he doesn't want his men to keep on fighting their wars.

Blackthorn's waging a war against the Legion in Portland, even though there's no real reason for him to do so, and him starting another war in that God-forsaken wasteland only puts his men through more suffering. And unlike Lanius, the Northern Legion's Legate isn't so much a bad guy as he is just doing his job, with him even being progressive enough to let women join the Legion. So why wage war against him, when the both of them could probably agree that A) the NCR government sucks ass and B) the Frontier could use some civilizing to turn it into an honest-to-God country. If anything, the two men should have joined their forces together.

Then there was the Enclave plot, which again, was technically impressive, but it served no purpose and was just a sideshow for freaks.

What a waste.

I hope the guy finds some meaningful employment. For all that hard work to go to waste is tragic. Imagine what could have been done with that kind of skill attached to a mod where most of the story isn't written by paste-eating retards.

"I'm starting to think we need a thread for video game mod development related drama. The entire HoI4 mod scene, Hunt the Freeman, Fallout the Frontier, Beyond Skyrim, they all seem to ALWAYS be filled to the brim with trannies and fucking weirdos. Half the projects collapse because of it and the other half are corrupted and the entire experience ruined. It happens like clockwork every half a year or so."

This is worrying to me, very much looking forward to BS, but the trannies love exploding everything they touch like the parasites they are.

Red pill me on the Hoi4 mod scene. My ADHD is too powerful for 4x games.

Edit: I’m fucking stupid and should’ve used search. We have a thread.

Quick, someone make a mod called The Real Sneed which adds a guy named Sneed to Goodsprings. Entering dialoge with him prompts him to get angry and yell
"What the hell do you want?! Why is everybody bugging me all of a sudden? Is it National Pick On Sneed Day or some shi-"
Then his head explodes as a message pops up "This mod has been banned from the Nexus... Sorry!"

Watching a video Rimmy put out and according to the devs, Devilswish caused a lot of their problems.

It's gone.
The silly nexus mods will never learn will they. The people uploading sneedclave mods are looking for attention, and are trying to be annyoing to them. If they was smart they let the mods be, or even embrace them to take some of the fun out of it for the uploaders. :story: But then again we are talking about the nexus moderaters.

Yeah, and I don't believe them. Devilswish is the creator of the single most well-known and respected horror mod in the FNV world, and his touch can be seen in the NCR quest's nightmare sequence, which is far and away the single best part of that entire storyline. Devilswish was not the problem in that relationship, the rest of those faggots were, and the sooner he comes out of the woodwork to lay the smackdown on these lying sacks of shit, the better.

The Nexus has a standing ban on political mods, and I'm absolutely certain that it's the justification they'd use if challenged about their moratorium on sneedposting, but holy hell does it look like they're trying to run interference for the Frontier gang.

I love how this mod has gone through a full lifecycle in like a week. It went from laughing at it to generating new mods to add in new dialogue/memes to dead and buried so quickly.

Though on a more critical note, from what I saw of the mod, the assets all clashed really hard anyways so I woulda never played it out of principle. Like, nothing takes me out more than assets that look like they don't belong in such a stylized world as Fallout: NV

If this was the case all they would need to do is. Let the mods stay, then mass remove the mods after a few months once the sneedclave meme is well dead, and gone. By that point all the sneedposters are going to jumped to the next meme bandwagon, and save them the hassle of having to remove more mods, then if they keep removing them hours after being posted.

That's the problem with inclusivity at all costs. If you are unwilling to draw a line and keep some people out eventually you'll be overrun with retards who have no business being part of your group who will outnumber you and ruin everything.

Also Beyond Skyrim is as autistic as any other modding community but they are getting shit done. I didn't particularly like the one mod they released so far but it's miles ahead of the Frontier in terms of quality. The only problem is that they are spreading themselves too thin and they'll end up with 10 half-finished projects instead of 3 completed ones
