I have to ignore the fact that I know anything about anything to play this game at all without just killing myself.
Also what's the worst that can happen? We can end up dead. These guys are dead, they're doing fine.
I guess considering I'm impaled on a weapon and my attacks are doing no damage I mutter out "calm down fags what do you want anyway?"

Dude, the Green Knight is a badass who you can't fuck with. Read some of the original King Arthur shit.
Or maybe I'm misremembering, but either way, he's on a horse, so you have to somehow hit him while he's on that horse, which is borderline impossible, since almost all hits will wind up striking the horse, and you can't really aim for the person on top of it.
Of course, he's a knight, so the horse is heavily armored. And you can't realistially use a ballista to pick off individual infantrymen, so that never had any realistic chance of success anyway.
I'm still playing by the rules, trust me, the rules are just retarded.
