Holy fuck the whole thing is horrifying, but the weird distribution of fat/fluid/whatever in his legs makes it look like they're bending the wrong way.

It's not just that, on his right leg it seriously looks like he's got fucking mushrooms growing on there. I know it's some kind of plaque brought on by all the fat and fluid he's carrying there but damn, it's nasty looking.

The thing is, he probably is in some real pain. He probably needs painkillers, and if he took them as prescribed, he’d be getting them. But since he treats them like food and puts a months supply in his mouth at once, nobody will prescribe, especially in this day and age.

This guy is a lost cause. He’s totally mentally ill. I’m not sure what it is, but he’s old fashioned crazy. His brother isn’t exactly normal either.

His dad seems like a good guy and completely confused by what’s happened-but he has never said no to these kids in his life, and they have zero respect.

Morbid obesity is almost always going to be a symptom rather than a cause. Possibly sexual abuse, or as you say, just old fashioned crazy. Strip away all of the weight, and there's still just going to be a head full of problems.

I can't help but laugh.
I feel bad for all the staff workers he abused/abuses but I can't get angry about it because he's just so hilariously useless. He can talk about becoming an actor, he can act like an entitled child and scream into intercoms and phones but when the cameras have stopped and his door is shut, he is still pathetically alone, incapable of a single adult activity and still looks like a teleporter accident between a greasy teen and an elephant.
Now wasting medical resources by calling 911 for pills and attention is annoying, but there will always be leeches like him so better to laugh than to cry.
Personally I really enjoy this ride!

I think that’s the apron of fat that covers his stomach (and penis and thighs and probably knees). This dude hadn’t seen his twigs and berries for years.

And when the cameras are off, he should be alone. Sadly, is Dad is there and comes running to his beck and call. If his dad stopped showing up and 911 refused to service him, he might start having some problems. But I don’t think there is enough human left for him to do anything but want. He gets disability-can he eat on 800 a month? He might have to.

The thing I always want to know when people ascend to this level of fatness is the road they walked putted in a Walmart electric scooter down to even get there. Sure there's the family issues, mental issues, and so on, but other fatties and land whales can have those same excuses and yet they manage to stop short of becoming a completely bedridden, unidentifiable pile of human biomass. The second episode ends with Ass getting the surgery, and of course, begging for pain killers.

No chance this surgery is going to work. It will force him to lose a little weight because he’ll vomit everything he eats for six weeks or so, but once it’s healed he’ll be right back at it. He won’t lose enough for us to even be able to tell.

Dr. Now missed to boat on this on. Stephen needs a mental institution, not surgery. Dr Now said he was doing this “pro bono” so hopefully no taxpayer dollars were involved. But I wouldn’t waste resources on this guy; he’s never faced the consequences of his actions-everybody caters to him.

The whole family is toxic. Steve called Dad and made a big scene over wanting a sandwich when he was supposed to be fasting before surgery. Dad, of course, called a delivery service and got him the food.

Justin is supposedly writing a book about what it was like to grow up with an abuser brother. That’s a book I’d like to read, tbh.

Stephen’s mother wouldn’t come for the surgery. They Skyped and they blurred her out. Can’t blame her, if those were my spawn I’d deny it too.

From what I remember I think Fatty McFatterson said that if he didn't get what he wanted he literally would hound and continue and continue to plead until he got it. There was a scene in the hospital that he kept pushing the button to call the nurse because he wanted pain killers and just wouldn't stop. He kept pushing the button and pushing the button and then finally in a rage knocked over his urinal bottle all over the floor forcing the nurses to clean it up.

Dr. Now says that this is the final straw, he can't stay at the hospital any more and has to leave. The tears start, he begs and pleads saying he's sorry and that he never meant any harm and blah blah blah but Dr. Now tells him to shut up and it's happening. He's not taking any shit and calls Fatty's father to come get him. The surgery and every thing is still on but he can't stay at the hospital and his father needs to find him a place to live.

He's a textbook manipulator. He knows that if he continues he'll get what he wants but when faced with somebody he can't control he breaks into tears and promises this will never happen again... until it happens again.

That was an earlier episode. There have been two more. The only person standing up to him is Dr Now. He did the surgery because he said then he knows that he tried everything to help him. But won’t give him painkillers, not even after surgery.

Stephen wanted Vicodin and called an ambulance to take him to the hospital. Dr Now was waiting and said that he wasn’t getting anything and to go home. He was going to call his insurance and make sure they denied the ambulance ride, said it was going to be on Stephens dime. (Which he didn’t care about because he’ll bully his dad into paying. ) He had to Uber Home.

Dude is really a terrible guy. He’s almost 40, 700 lbs, has never worked. Treats everybody around him like dirt and has the whole country hating him.

It’ll be interesting to see if they do another follow up. Dr. Now must be sick of him. His son is the producer of the show though, so if the Assanti Boys get ratings....
