I really hope that someone asks for a test drive so that Chris can stand behind the thing, make engine noises, try to push it, and throw around a few weeds he dug up.
I wish trolls or weens would convince Chris that he was a setsy model and to pose for pictures on the piece of crap wearing a crop-top and short shorts.

Why not just get Chris to demonstrate it works by having him mow his lawn with it while you watch?

The term "tractor" or "lawn/yard/garden tractor" in reference to riding mowers is mostly common in southern states, like Virginia.

And they are asking far too much for it, as is typical for the Chandlers. It isn't even worth that much in parts, even if it were in much better shape. But as others have pointed out, there's no way they've had the oil changed, blade changed or replaced, put fuel stabilizer in the gas, it's probably been sitting for a very long time without even being started, and on top of all that it's lemon of a model from a very low quality manufacturer. Chris and Barb really don't have a grasp on this "selling used stuff" gig.

Scrapping it to get all the useful and fiddly bitz out would probably cost more than what they want to sell it for and you can be damn sure that neither one of the Chandlers is smart enough to find someone to do that, much less do it for free so they can sell the bitz.
Plus, it's a craftsman, even as scrap they're not worth anything because they're junk to start with.

Given how well Chris and Barb take care of their property, I'd imagine that their riding mower hasn't seen much use. But then again, I'd have to wonder if they ever changed the oil on that thing.

Dammit Chandlers, get a John Deere!

I may have misspelled that, despite being the state that makes them. SO SUE ME.
Well, I have a feeling that like a massive star, the Chandler's finances will be soon be reaching a point where they can no longer sustain the idiots misusing them. Barb will die, taking her pension and tugboat, leaving Chris to implode on the meager increase he will get from Social security. The financhu black hole saga is about 1-3 years away.

Damnit, I thought Barb was selling a tractor beam.

First the gold necklace and now this. Barb's banks/creditors must have hit her even harder than we thought.
Pretty sure she's just sacrificing pieces of hoard in a vain attempt to keep the whole intact. That, and forestall creditors from taking basically everything that she owns before she dies. Clearly, she hasn't put any serious thought into what happens to Her Pet Lolcow after she dies.
