Even for Chris, this is extremely autistic. According to Chris, Bob had "feet bloatings" which are indicative of congestive heart failure. And given how much Chris would scream at trolls when Bob was around, it's pretty clear that Bob was impervious to loud noises.

Besides, Bob started more arguments than flies at a garbage dump, and threw the damn fag card at Chris! How quickly Fatty forgets that his relationship with Bob wasn't all rainbows and sunshine.

Chris can easily deal with being called a fag or getting into arguments if it means more free time to putz around. After all, being a nuisance and vidya is more important than anything .

When Chris is talking about freedom, he's talking about how 14BC's financials are in shambles.
If I had to guess, Barb is blaming the hospital for killing Bob, as old hillbillies are wont to do, and Chris, being Chris, only picked up on the tiniest and most out-of-context part of her complaints and his autism translated it into the staff murdering Bob with sound.
This is what Chris understands about heart attacks. Chris is saying stress killed Bob. Whether it was the alleged loud noise or the trolls, it doesn't matter to Chris.
Surely if this was true our very litigious Barb would have filed a wrongful death suit.
Can't afford it.
Even if Barb is the original proponent of these abhorrent notions, Chris is just as culpable for them by espousing them. We're not talking about some clueless special needs 18-year-old who's never been outside of his house. He's almost 35 now and has had ample time to gather experience and develop right perspectives. This reinforces to me he's just as self-absorbed and unrepentant as ever, and at this point as far as I'm concerned they're both just as guilty for this.
Chris is not playing with a full deck of cards. He genuinely believes a fireman robbed them because he's in an abusive relationship with her and he'll believe anything she says.
Now no one will do anything for Barb and CWC and no one will bail them out of their self-inflicted financial crisis.
Well, Barb-inflicted financial crisis, anyway.

Part of me thinks that Chris got the idea of heart attacks being triggered by loud noises from cartoons.

Sad. Strangely relevant, too, as I was just reading about the effects of Loud Noise on seinors with feet bloatings in NEJM. Hopefully Bob is the last victim.

"Stressful surprise" was probably how Bob and Barb referred to their little accident when they were tying one on at the gin mill.

Since anything worthwhile that can possibly be said in this thread has already been said. . .

Chris should dig up Bob's corpse and fuck it.

Take the context out of this sentence and it would imply Barb and Chris are in a dysfunctional marriage instead of a mother and child relationship. That's fucking terrifying.

I interpreted that last statement as a reference to actual freedom of some sort. Remember, just a bit more than a month later, the events of 28 October 2011 happened. At this point, especially after the macing incident, Chris was probably more paranoid of people, especially the cops.
No, I have to say it's all about Barb keeping Chris on an extremely short leash now. She might have used the October 28th incident as an excuse for why he can't go out (even though she hit Snyder too, and a cop), but she was already doing that before Bob died. I mean, it went from threats of changing the locks if he went somewhere without her permission to being forbidden to sleep and play in his own room after Bob died.

>more freedom
>"GET AWAY FROM THE INTERNET, IM CUTTING IT DOWN RIGHT NOW"
>"Shut that goddamn thing off!"
>"...and my father threw the damned fag card at me!"

k chris

The freedom Chris is talking about is financial. Chris isn't on a short leash at all, as far as where he goes and what he does. Barb's basically a houseplant now that turns sentient and start screaming bloody murder when she gets letters from the debt collection agencies.

Chris can't piss away all his money on tipping the drag queens at Impulse as much as he wants to because Barb's debts are gobbling up all his spare cash.

Has Chris ever even entertained the possibility of moving out or otherwise ditching Barb somehow? Unsure if he's mentally capable of breaking free of her conditioning ala venus angelic, but I wonder if he's ever fantasized about it in private conversation. Hell, has he ever fantasized about life after barb dies?

It's funny, with how much he loved Animal Crossing you'd think he'd have even the vaguest concept of money management. Even when I was a kid I was like "oh, so I actually don't spend all my money and instead save it so I can pay off my debt, now it all makes sense." It's like the one thing he didn't learn from video games.

Barb's threatened to make him homeless if he tried to leave.

When Chris fantasizes about ditching Barb, it's only because he's managed to locate someone to take care of her in his stead.

And he cannot fathom what life would be like after she's gone if he doesn't also have a heartsweet to take care of him. That idea scares him shitless.
