I agree with this.

As an addendum to part 1), I think he doesn't want to substitute away from his regular business. He pictures everyone who would buy from him without the PS4 deal buying the same amount, and then someone adding a PS4 on top. Under this scheme (as he sees it), he can still have the same amount of money for Barb/bills/food/toys/vidya/makeup, etc. that he would otherwise, so he doesn't have to divert any funds to the PS4.

And as an addendum to part 2). Another big factor that annoys him is that he is being criticized for it. He sees it as unfair. But he never (to my knowledge) uses the completely valid point "it's an offer, if you don't like it, that's fine, don't take it. Maybe someone else will". To me that suggests he sees his business in large part as a charity.
Is it too soon to hope that Sony will abruptly announce the PS5 at an even higher price and discontinue PS4 games and consoles, Chris would be pissed.

This is going to be a fixture for the release of every gaming console generation until he dies. He's inevitably going to have to beg/do inane shit to afford initial cost of the console itself. Dear lord if Trollin Train 2: Electric Boogaloo were to happen or whatever, the cost relatively high-end electronics like the PS3 and PS4 are pretty pricey while Chris's monthly check generally loses purchasing power year over year. And wait until Barb's gone and her pension is no longer helping float the house's finances, the PS5 or PS6 begging videos / posts (whenever they do happen) from Chris are going to become progressively more desperate (as if that's possible lol).

Barb spends more than she gets. She basically sucks money from Chris and Chris basically runs the household. He may also get a bump up in disability if Barb dies.

1 more day... 1 more day til he either lowers his offer to a used PS4 or he cries rivers of MSG.

To me, it's as much to do with the hoarding tendencies inherited from Barb. The pair of them are suckers for "good deals" where the focus is on the money off as opposed to the money you spend. A good deal isn't a good deal if you were never going to spend money in the first place.

He's baffled by people focusing on the large sum of money they need to spend instead of focusing on the "saving" and he's wondering why people aren't jumping at the chance to take advantage of it.

Also, true to form, it's clear he convinced himself everything was going to fall into place the way he envisioned. If people had just done what they were supposed to do, he'd be playing ps4 right now.

He's going to buy one himself. And he'll probably make a half smug/half pissy video where he wants pity for not receiving any bday gifts, but at the same time he'll act like a snotty shit and brag that he got a console "despite" his meanie customers refusing to buy him one.

He will spend $500 on this console like it's nothing, then immediately afterward complain about how he can't afford to live nicely or make good on his sales obligations.

Which is then of course followed by more begging for money for things he "needs".

This.

If anyone cares, keep an eye out on his psn profile. See if Chris starts getting PS4 specific activity. There have been talks about weens buying him a PS4, or like @Alec Benson Leary says, he's just going to buy one himself.

Also, true to form, it's clear he convinced himself everything was going to fall into place the way he envisioned. If people had just done what they were supposed to do, he'd be playing ps4 right now.

Exactly. Suppose he had just posted a message or video saying "hey, as you know, I like playing vidya, so I would really like to have a PS4. It's a big expense for me, and I know some of you guys like my Sonichu merch. Here is a deal that one of you might like." And then left it alone, or occassionally posted a "PS4 deal still available" message. It would be a little harder to fault him or make fun of him.

But like so many things with Chris, once he gets it in his head, it is right and just for him to have a PS4, so if he doesn't get one, it is wrong and unjust. The PS4 seems to have gone from "a fun thing to have" to an important part of his world view.

Chris[t]...

Let's fucking assume that there's somebody out there who actually wants hundreds of fucking dollars worth of your crap. If that person existed - or, even, multiple people who wanted lesser amounts of your crap that added up to hundreds of fucking dollars - they could just buy that stuff, and then you would have the money to buy a PSQuad.

I know it's worthless trying to rationalize Chris's fucking...Chrisness, but it shouldn't be such a fucking leap to come to the conclusion that if the thing you're trying to trade had any value in the first place, you could just sell it and then have the money.

Doubtful, everyone knows the terrible decisions Chris makes with his own money and an extra 200 or so a month is laughable to Barb's pension and SSI checks. And that's after whatever amount she blows through for medications and food and hoarding. Chris's attempts at money-making are modest at best and are a crapshoot for him given little amount of effort he devotes to it.

To summarize my point, Chris is going to be begging a lot more often as time goes on. Can you point out what income sources other than that couple hundred extra bucks Chris will be able to have once Barb dies to afford such things like a PS4 or Ps 5 in the future? Because other than begging Chris isn't too good at being consistent with much else with regards to having a income. Maybe he can room with @DStecks for a onsite pity-bux ATM.

When Chris blows money on stupid shit, it's because he has money to spare. Chris budgets and maintains a running total of his income compared to his estimated expenditures. He's not great at it, but he can maintain a status quo for the foreseeable future.

The commonly accepted wisdom on Chris' finances, as laid out on the cwcki, is pretty skewed from the reality of the situation.

Barb has shitloads of debt. She's a net loss to the household.

I think Barb tries to pull off "clever" financial bullshit a lot more often than Chris. She's more ambitious. (Read: she gambles more.) She also doesn't give a shit how much debt she has (or takes out in Chris' name, if she needs it), because she'll be dead.
To summarize my point, Chris is going to be begging a lot more often as time goes on.
This is true, but it's mostly because the cost of living will be very close to his tugboat. The house of cards Barb has built is collapsing. That's irrespective of anything Chris is doing.

If Chris reads this and takes it to heart, I'll spit up my lobster bisque.

he's more ambitious. (Read: she gambles more.)

Do you mean she makes unwise decisions and gambles that she will be able to handle them in the future? Or are we talking actual gambling?

(Based on the context, I'd assume the former, but Barb having an online poker addiction wouldn't exactly shock me either.)

Barb is the worst when it comes to the (whatever you want to call it) culture that almost fetishists the concept of sales and coupons. I'm sure we've met that person who brags they they "saved" a few hundred bucks on a TV that still cost them a grand. "You didn't save $200, you spent $1000". Deal or not, there will always to idiots who will gladly sink their income because the junk they bought was slightly less than retail price, and Barb is Queen of Hoard Mountain.

I dunno, I think Bob's little ball-and-chain is certainly working out for Barb in the long run. She got those finances locked down well, and all it required was having mongoloid baby with an old-fashioned gentleman, and then proceed to leech off the tard baby after Bob kicked the bucket. Pretty sweet deal, if you're a gold digger.

Chris does have bad spending habits, but even he knows that he needs to pay the basics. There's also the fact that despite his tenancy to piss money away on frivolities, he also has really narrow interests. A PS4's about as pricey as something he wants is going to be.

I'm a little curious as to why this is a thing all of a sudden. He's now had three birthdays since the PS4 released, and apart from it appearing on his Christmas wish list a while ago, he hasn't seemed that fussed about it. I wonder if it's just that he saw his figures as a new angle to get stuff he wants.

The other thing that may be amusing if he does get one, will be his reaction to what it doesn't do. Sony stripped out a lot of the features that were standard to the ps3, like media features and such to keep costs down and just provide a more focused product. Chris didn't just game on his "life upgrade", he used it to record all his videos and keep all his music and stuff on. We all know how pissed he gets at companies when their product doesn't match up with his expectations of it.

To be fair to Barb (can't fucking BELIEVE I'm typing that..) but Chris's legal troubles ate away a lot of the nest egg. Granted she was in on the Snyder caper, but it was Chris's childish bullshit that started it. What ever few hundreds she gets from him a month, I bet it doesn't compare to the cost of that trial alone.
