Apartment living sucks even for neurotypicals unless you live in a nice place with noise control
I don't know what it is, I never had a problem with noise, music, TVs, as soon as I entered my late 20's my sensitivity to sound became highly acute, it's age and hormones I guess, I can imagine that it must be at least 100 times worse for someone with autism who cannot appropriately filter out such environmental pollution
I think I'd be more annoyed if someone next door has sub-woofers blasting urban/rap all night long while I'm trying to sleep, but I suppose you do have a right to complain about that so I see no prob there.

You're right, but I am sure there might be certain luxuries Barb's debt has been affording Chris that will be returned to sender after her demise, and whatever income she was contributing will be gone too, which means fewer opportunities for Chris to seek out any more credit in the future.
Since Barb will be gone, people will more than likely try to rip Chris off and have less confidence in him, since he's not being permissively guided by Barb any longer.
Sad really.

What happens exactly when Barb dies @Marvin ? Does the debt she has incurred become Chris's debt? If so thats going to be a problem.
Also wont he get a slight bump up in his SSDI now that hes the one having to pay the rent?

You can't inherit your parents debts. However, they can take various types assets to pay off your parents debts before you inherit anything. I think the house is exempted from this, but it might be in Chris' best interest to just sell the house and get a small apartment.

From what I know.......

Unless Chris co-signed to any of Barb's loans (a reasonable possibility, since she has borrowed off of his life insurance), he'd be on the hook for that.

However, since he's 100% on the Tugboat, the worst they could do is to cancel the LI policy and report the debt to a collection agency since his TB money is exempt from collection. This means that Chris won't get his SSI garnished, but it will result in other bad things, such as his credit card companies revoking his cards and giving him a poor credit score which will prevent him from getting an apartment on his own.

As for any increase in the Tugboat money, if he's getting $1000+ each month, then that means he's already getting half of what Bob took in added to his check as a "Survivor". He won't get any more money added on after Barb's dead.

DR;TL version: Barb dies, Chris get a ton of her debts because he co-signed, companies can't collect so they'll just dump the debt onto a collection agency who will never get anywhere because Chris never answers the phone, Chris' credit score goes into the toilet, credit cards are revoked, Chris cannot find a new place because all the landlords say he has too bad a credit score. Chris and Phil fight over a roasted rat behind the 7-11.

I really wonder how much Barb has done to plan for her death.
Has she already taken care of funeral expenses, will, transferring deeds and whatnot to Chris?

I think I saw from an ancient thread, that she's going to have her carcass put into the same crypt that Bob is in. So chances are Bob may have done something to include her in a burial contract. No sign of anything prepared for Chris though, so it looks like he'll just be left out on the curb on trash day on the week he expires.

...speaking of debts and such, do you think Chris'll have the wherewithall to sell much of Barb's stuff when she goes?

I mean obviously most of it is going to be horrible junk that he'll overvalue, but the hoard is so extensive I wouldn't be shocked if he found something of value.

I'm probably getting off topic a little though.

Well, maybe then those vouchers will finally come in handy.

Where's his Godbear now?

lmao at Chris in an apartment. No way can he co-exist with strangers and just imagine if something breaks in his apartment and he has to deal with that DAMN DIRTY MALE LANDLORD.

Or, God forbid the neighbors keep him up until 11:00 PM with their sex noises and Chris has to waddle upstairs and give them a lecture about how Bloody Unfair it is that all transwomen like himself don't get the luxury of corporial pleasure because they are all shunned by society for being fat, hairy, unattractive and autistic...after long winded speech, Chris maces a young couple in bath robes just for saying they're calling the manager.
And so begins Chris' journey into heavy antipsychotics and padded rooms.

Since Chris will find it near-impossible to get an apartment with his dismal credit score, the only places that may let him move in will be run-down slums filled with insects, filth, and gangs. It'll be just like home to him I'm sure, but places like that also allow tenants who are heavy smokers/drinkers. Chris is just going to love living there.

And then we'll be treated to video after video of Chris whining nostalgic about the wonderful apartment he and Bob lived in while in exile from Ruckersville.

If Barb has enough debt they can take the house and sell it to pay that off. That happens pretty frequently. No Chris isn't directly responsible for Barb's debt, but her death doesn't mean the end of those creditors. Hopefully (optimistic I know) Barb will have some sort of life insurance that goes along with her pension that will pay off that debt so that won't happen. As far as I know, there isn't an exemption that would let Chris keep the house. I'm not saying it's a certainty or anything, just very possible.

If she does have her own LI policy, we both know that she's already taken out a loan from it. Barb is a one-way black hole of financial suck. She will leave nothing but debts and angry suckers behind after she's croaked. That's a main reason why most of even her own family stay as far away from her as they can.

One question no one (that I know of) has asked is if Barb has a Last Will in place? If not, would a Probate Court order the house be liquidated with the remaining money after debts be divided up between all surviving children (like Cole and the other kids from Barb's previous marriages)? I'd find it hard to believe that a judge would allow an "adult autistic child" to be the sole heir to get thousands of dollars to play with as he wishes. And even if they did, Chris can't have more than a couple thousand dollars without it jeopardizing his Tugboat status. This won't be Sonichu money from under the table. The courts AND the Feds will know Chris has a huge sack of extra $$$ this time. Chris will get a temporary cut in his monthly Tugboat. I think it's for every $2 he gets, he gets cut $1 from his SSI.

Wouldnt that only happen if someone like Cole contested?

Inheritance isn't income. It shouldn't affect his tugboat.

If you're on SSI, you can't have any assets over $2,000 except a residence, unless you set up a trust account. See here. So if Chris has to sell 14BLC to pay off Barb's debts, Chris either needs to buy a cheaper place with what's left over, set up a trust account, or take a hit on the tugboat.

Hopefully, Chris will have someone to help with all this, because fucking trust accounts are complicated as hell.

I'd be surprised if there is enough of value in the Blarb hoard to pay to haul off the rest of it to the landfill.

Anywhere that Chris has to interact with people on a regular basis, even just passing them in the hall, he'll manage to piss someone off by saying or doing retarded shit and could get his ass kicked.

However, if you are receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits and have recently inherited funds, your benefits may potentially be affected. This is due to the fact that the SSI program is based on financial need. Any income, earned or unearned, can affect your benefits. Therefore it is imperative to inform the SSA of any changes to your income. You have up to ten days following the end of the month in which the change occurred to report the change.

Chris will be contacted by the financial management firm of Cash, Thaddeus, and Weiss to help him handle his inheritance.

Maybe Christine can use her size and "Transgender Controversy" to become the first ever career female Super Sumo, and help pay off his debts
I can see it now.

Chris has SSDI, which isn't based on financial need. If you're crippled, you can get SSDI, even if you're a millionaire.

I'm a little curious as to why this is a thing all of a sudden. He's now had three birthdays since the PS4 released, and apart from it appearing on his Christmas wish list a while ago, he hasn't seemed that fussed about it
I think it was honestly because he was obsessed with his Wii U and amiibos for most of that time. Now he's finally looking for the next thing.

To be fair to Barb (can't fucking BELIEVE I'm typing that..) but Chris's legal troubles ate away a lot of the nest egg. Granted she was in on the Snyder caper, but it was Chris's childish bullshit that started it.
Barb elected to waste all their money fighting an unwinnable fight.

How does Chris have SSDI? Chris never worked long enough to pay in 6 quarters of FICA, which is the absolute minimum requirement for SSDI.

Did Bob somehow finagle a benefit for Chris that Chris wasn't actually eligible for?

Chris has SSDI, not SSI. He doesn't have those limits.

There are still limits, they're just nowhere near as strict as SSI.
There's a time limit to dispose of assets above a certain amount, or you can face being removed from SSDI, since if you can support yourself to the point where you can save x dollars, then you must not need the assistance.
It varies state by state.

-edit-
This applies to "invisible disabilities", not physical ones. No idea how that works.

Pretty sure Chris has SSI, which he has had in some form since childhood.
