You have to remember that, at the current Chris condition, sending him to an Communist army or, as MLP suggests, Equalists is probably for his best.

North Korean Kids break it down! (Notice the same creppy smile)

Its funny that this morning, I read the description of the episode through my cable guide and I thought "I would not be surprised if Chris bitches about this". While I do not watch MLP: FIM, I agree that Chris might have missed the message or even the point of the two part episode from what I am hearing about it. Then again, when hasn't Chris watch something with a message that flew over his head (aka: relate it to his own woes).

Also, if you're curious, here's the part that got Chris so upset. (It starts at 20:55, in case I fuck up the embedding.)

If you consume media for entertainment, then you want tense moments and problems that need to be resolved.

If you consume media just to escape from your life and inhabit another world, you might prefer a really boring plot where everyone just goes around having fun and being nice to each other.

The shows Chris likes tend to be either comedies or kids shows. Which are more often of the second type. He doesn't want tension. He doesn't want the good guys to have a tough time, even if they come through it ok. He wants his whole time watching the show to be a pleasant diversion.

This ties back into his idea that there's an actual Roger Rabbit universe/Imaginationland from South Park. He sees it as hurting an actual living being.

You know what the funny thing is about Roger Rabbit? In that movie, Judge Doom's plan was to bulldoze Toon Town and build a freeway system over it. The joke, of course, is that LA has a freeway system, implying that in the real world Judge Doom succeeded and all the toons are dead. Wonder how Chris would feel if he knew that.

Not only that, but the government kind of throws pennies at him (the tugboat).

This FB post is similar to the "prospects" one - Chris appears to be trying to justifying his situation. In this case, Chris isn't conforming to the American norm of contributing to society*, usually while not living with one's parents, and he rants on how he hates conformity (triggered by cartoon ponies).

*(unless you count periodically making medallions and selling them on the internet, that is)

I wonder why he needs glue?

I am wondering why he needs that too, non of the things we have seen him make require glue they are drawings or sculptures. Unless the medallions he is currently making are even lower quality than normal an breaking out before he can ship them out I can't work out anything he would need it for.

I love the sheer irony of Chris missing a My Little Pony episode because he was buying glue.

So first, he bitches about blue arms, and now, he bitches at MLP. He doesn't mind watching other crap cartoons though. Why's he suddenly hating on cartoons left and right now other than Sonic's blue arms?

I'm impressed that Chris is capable of deciding he dislikes an episode of MLP. Usually, it seems that brand loyalty supersedes everything else.
