Feb 28, 2022 - Chris transferred to another facility

I do worry too if this is honestly the last we hear from Chris in a long, long time. This seems like the beginning of a long radio silence from him considering he’s being possibly institutionalised and located without any insider info onto where it could be. How will we cope in the ensuing silence?
My opinion based on absolutely nothing is that he's going to be a free man sooner than later.

Yeah I’ve heard tales of how fucked up it can be in the states, I understand you have the issue or not having the luxury of free healthcare compared to most European countries, but I hear that it really is like One flew over cuckoos nest type situations in certain places: like these homes are some of the rattiest looking dens and filled with miserly doctors and nurses who treat their patients like complete shit and stela money and possessions if they can. Yet there are literally Orlando style resorts taht only the richest can afford,

Why is the psychiatric facility quality so evenly divided? Is it simply monetary issues or are their more serious lack of development in the understanding of mental illness in American medicine, or corruption from a government taht don’t really care that much about tards or insane people? Thé conditions seem almost 1970s like with how backwards I’ve heard some facilities are.
Money talks and bullshit walks.

Gonna try to not get too politispergy but the whole "durhur murican healthcare is spensive" is a bit of a meme because the reality is that most people do have healthcare/health insurance. The costs are either automatically deducted from their pay by their employers so it's out-of-sight-out-of-mind, or they're contractors/business owners/self-employed who buy it through exchanges and budget for it like a functional fucking adult, or they're people who are so poor that medicaid so heavily subsidizes them to the point where it might as well be free healthcare.

The remainder are all the loud vocal twitter spazzes who can't even figure out how to renew their drivers license on time, don't understand what "open enrollment" means, don't do any of the work to learn the difference between an HMO and a PPO, don't check if they qualify for subsidies, don't lift a fucking finger to help themselves ever in their lives, and piss and burn away every dollar they have. Then they sit there and say "Y HEALTH CARE SO SPENSIVE FUCKING GOVERNMENT!" These are also the same people who munchie out every time they get an ache in their chest and go running as fast as they can to the ER. Then they have the audacity to complain about the thousand dollar ER bill they rang up for themselves as if they had no control over it.

Anyway, Chris is in a state hospital, which in modern times really aren't that bad, all things considered. For the most part the Gerardo Rivera-style snake pits of the 60s and 70s are long gone. Will it be nice? Probably not. But Chris is a ward of the state with fixed income and no savings, so he's getting the budget option. But will it be dangerous to him? No. Not at all. I'll take all my moais now.

lol recalling back to all of our resident law experts(who have way too much free time to post on kiwifarms to be actual practicing lawyers) say that Chris will never get an insanity plea deal and that only happens in the movies.. looks like he may have done it. Much to his own detriment.

One thing I love about Chris, he inevitably makes any “expert” eat their words.

Disclaimer I'm not a psychologist but I do know that they listen very closely during evaluations for the patients to use terms that could potentially show signs of being suicidal or self harming. Considering Chris's last letter included the choice words "point of no return." If he said something similar to the jail shrinks or openly talked about how people who die "merge" with their true selfs in dimension c-197 or just death in general. Then there's a good chance that's why he got sent to the mental institution

They take talking about death, anything that sounds even remotely depressed and using terms like last straw, last resort and all that very seriously.

99% of people disagree with me but I'm still convinced that Chris knows the CPU goddess stuff is a larp. It seems like the kind of escapist fantasy he would really enjoy. Plus, he wasn't even great at it - he would regularly screw up and say things like "I, uh, I mean momma" when Sonichu was supposedly possessing him; indicating that this wasn't a True and Honest belief. He didn't start with the over-the-top Jesus stuff until Heilberg floated the idea of insanity being a mitigating factor in the crime. It seems like the type of ham fisted strategy Chris would employ, since claiming to be Jesus is one of the most stereotypically crazy things someone can do. I also doubt that Chris developed schizophrenia this late in life, which would be rare. Schizophrenia almost always has an onset between 18 and 35. Chris also had an actual psych eval back in the PVCC days and they didn't find that he had any kind of delusional disorder, just hardcore autism.

Additionally, Chris seems very much aware that sex with Barb was wrong given that he tried his best to conceal it. Usually when delusional people do bad things which they think are right, they don't take steps to hide it and are even proud of it. After all, they performed a miracle so why be secretive about it?

I guess none of us can know for certain, but the one thing that is true without a doubt is that Chris needed some kind of psychological intervention since PVCC.

Schizophrenia ist mostly developed in the early twenties, thats true. Also, people with Autism tend to be less likely to suffer from a psychotic discorder than the average citizen because the two illnesses are kind of counterparts. The autistic ist mostly a logical being (hence parallels to OCD most autistics tend to have) while suffering from disturbed perception of reality depending on the severeness of the symptoms while a psychotic is pure chaos, delusional while living inside of his own world during the acute phases.

Especially considering the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, the disorders can be confused with each other at first sight.
It's not the case that autistics can't drift off to their own world so much that they get lost if they fail to fit into the challenges of every day life.

I wonder what 'inside scoop' Ethan Ralph has on Chris. Probably nothing we already don't know, though Gunt's been teasing it on his social media.

Yeah but it is not like they have taken his insanity plea, put him in therapy for two weeks and now he is back to his old life scot free.

That’s the kind of result movie insanity pleas seem to generate.

They did it, but it was ok cause they had a brief lapse in judgement, they are ok now, so the murder was just a bit of a harmless slip up.
Will smith says a catchphrase, Tom hanks and Meg Ryan kiss, everyone laughs and the credits roll.

Except, here, Chris is screaming, strapped in a straight jacket, locked in a padded cell, while a stern manly voiceover explains how nutty he is.

Isn’t this to get Chris in a position where he is legally competent enough to defend himself?

Chris' weird beliefs are actually strangely logical in a way. Something that's logical doesn't have to be correct. If trash data comes in, trash data comes out. But for example, Chris' merge bullshit didn't start until he learned about the multiple worlds hypothesis. Granted, he misunderstood it and blew up in a really fanciful way but there's a certain logic to his thinking. "All possibilities happen across infinite dimensions so there must be a dimension in which my shitty OC's are real." It's wrong and chronically retarded but it does seem to follow an "If X, then Y" pattern.

He's also known for justifying his weird actions with some degree of logic. Like when he saw the "under new management" banner at the Game Place, he thought he could go back because he assumed the "new management" wasn't Michael Synder. This was obviously ill-advised and ultimately wrong but he seems to put a lot of effort into justifying what he does as logical.

A similar thing happened with "She Came for CWC." He assumed that drawing the picture was the best possible option because the alternative was raping Megan. This type of logic made sense to him because obviously drawing a picture is better than rape, but was totally devoid of empathy.

So yeah, a lot of his actions were based on his twisted logic and disregard for other people. He understands "If X, then Y" but fails to take into account other people.

Are you still allowed to smoke in these hospitals? Not in them, I assume, but are smokers still allowed to get a fix?
Depends on the hospital. I doubt any allow smoking inside, this isn't the 60's anymore. But I've also heard of state mental hospitals banning all tobacco use. During the transition they gave the nicotine addicted patients nic patches til they were weaned off.

Would a inmate be transferred to another location for vandalism or wrecking thier room? I can't remember the specifics but I remember chris was trying to make a Portal in his cell.
You knows funny? Like Ophelia said Chris could have lied about trashing his cell and made up that he was drawing a portal but his cover up made him look just as pathetic and insane. He didn't want his readers to see that jail was starting to wear him down and he got in trouble for tard raging so instead made up that he was showing them a portal and it was the guards fault while ignoring that the story made him look crazy. It's like when he punched holes in his walls and it was either because he was mad over a Pony cartoon or he was trying to break down dimensions. He covers up his embarrassing behavior by claiming he was doing something just as insane.

The only people who ever tried to keep Chris in their lives were Bob and Barb and look how well that turned out for them. Everyone else took one look at Chris and went "oh crap it's coming inside".

Why not just put him on suicide watch? Sounds a little extreme to send a guy to a mental hospital when they could just have a guard or inmate check on him every few minutes to make sure he didn't hang himself with his bedsheets. Is it a liability reason? If Chris hangs himself in jail then it's their asses that get in trouble but if he kills himself in a mental hospital then it's their problem?

they can be, depending on the situation, but typically they are put on punishment by going to the hole, and loosing privileges. now if they frequently tear up stuff and get violent on a regular basis, then yes they can get transferred if there is room, to the next security level higher.

People awaiting trial getting sent to a mental facility temporarily is super common. Right now Virginia is having trouble finding space in their state hospitals, and there's a waiting list. They probably needed to shuffle some people around to get Chris in. You don't have to be insane for this to happen, just severely mentally ill.

Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity as a verdict, though, is very rare. The public hates it, and legislators and prosecutors oblige. To get NGRI the prosecutor either has to just give up on the entire case and just put an end to it and everyone agrees to the fiction that Chris is insane (which he is not, by the measure of capacity needed), or the prosecutor has to lose in court. Remember, NGRI is an L for the prosecution.

For Chris to be insane he would have to either not have the capacity to realize he was fucking Barb, or not have the capacity to understand that fucking Barb was illegal/immoral. Chris defies reality, but he is not disconnected from it. The only way he could get NGRI is if the defense, prosecution, and judge all colluded to promote the fiction that Chris was legally insane at the time of the crime. And if anyone found out they bent the rules to do this, then there could be a lawsuit on Chris' behalf.

I always assumed he bastardized some multiverse weebshit he has observed while watching family guy or anime.
