Feminism discussion thread

I wonder how this is working out?
Lmao ask SSj_ness and Norbert how it worked out for them.

Anyway. Time for some real feminism for the thread. So I’m going to put down some basic ideas and guidelines; other women, please feel free to critique/contribute:

What is feminism?
Feminism is a social movement that promotes the liberation of women from our current patriarchal system. Feminists campaign for the full enfranchisement of women’s rights.

Which rights?
In our current system, men enjoy more rights and freedoms than women do. Women are discriminated against in the job market and socially because of their position as caregivers and the biological necessities of childbearing. We don’t have full control over our bodies (especially with regards to reproduction), we can be forced to babysit a destructive man and the consequences of his behavior (see: Ethan Ralph, Ralph’s mom, and Ralph’s wives) and we are economically discriminated against and even legally disadvantaged to discourage us from leaving dysfunctional men.

What is patriarchy?
Patriarchy is the system by which men keep us in a submissive and disadvantaged position. Patriarchal men are always quick to justify that this is done for the good of women. Men believe we are incapable of any task they want to reserve as a man’s space and designed by God for the chores men don’t want to do. Patriarchy regards women as objects and assets to be traded between other men, instead of persons in their own right. Patriarchy seeks to deprive women of their agency and force them to make choices within the limits of what men find acceptable. (And what is acceptable is always changing, so women find themselves at the beck and call of men.)

All men are taught patriarchal ideology from birth. In order to accept feminism men have to undergo a period of de programming.

What’s in it for men?
Most men need to hear why feminism would benefit them, because they’re selfish children who need to center every conversation around their dicks and what gets their dicks hard. However, feminism does net benefit most men, because patriarchy benefits only a handful of men who enjoy positions of power. Within patriarchy, 99.9% of men are canned labor and disposable fighters. The remaining 0.1% benefit from patriarchy at the expense of these men. Within patriarchy, it’s normal for powerful men to send weaker ones to war, to exploit the profit of male work, and teach men self-neglect and unhealthy coping mechanisms. It’s normal in patriarchy for men to be drinking themselves blotto every night and smashing up furniture in frustration. Patriarchal thought trains men to blame women for the injuries incurred serving the patriarchy and scapegoats women as the reason men suffer.

What do women want?
Nothing less than the same rights afforded to men. Some specific examples:
1) Equal pay for equal work.
Since the women’s US soccer team is objectively better than the men’s (it is) then the women should receive at least the same amount of pay as the men's team does, if not more.
2) right to reproductive decision making. It is immoral and cruel to make a woman have a baby she doesn’t want to have. It’s cruel to make a woman carry a baby with no chance of survival ex utero. Women will avoid getting abortions if effective birth control is readily obtainable to them.
3) right to our own industry and ideas. The number of instances of men stealing women’s ideas and presenting them as their own invention is staggering. These guys need to be persecuted for intellectual property theft but they are not.
4) legal protection from male violence. Men too often get away with physical abuse and sexual assault because other men look the other way. Even men charged with upholding the law and keeping the peace are quick to toss off rape allegations as a “he said-she said” crime. Rape is thereby a process by which all men keep all women in a state of fear.
5) when applicable, separate facilities and women's competitive leagues so women may exercise, swim, compete in sports, etc. without the interference of men.

Frequently Yelled Statements
> You slits just want female supremacy over men!
This is a common misconception among anti-feminist men, who fear that if the playing field were leveled women would do them as they have done to women. Thankfully women are less prone to violence and vengeance than males. There is nothing to gain from simply swapping positions with men in the patriarchy - then women would simply face the problems men do.

> Feminism has gone too far!
No, it hasn't gone far enough. Women in first-world western countries may be guaranteed on paper, but in practice these rights are curtailed by men's sexism and male political initiatives seeking to abridge our rights. There are also many countries and places in the world where female enfranchisement is not guaranteed by the law or recognized by men.

> You're just saying this because you're an ugly FAT cow! I wouldn't even rape you!
Well thank goodness for that! Women also live in fear of male violence generally. If they are not thinking about raping you then men are probably thinking about how to steal your purse.

> Well I'm a woman and I don't need feminism because I'm hot/work full time/have a beautiful trad family/am Catholic!
Don't get too comfy. The same antifeminist men giving you asspats and updoots today will turn on you in an instant if you dare to disagree with them, and then they will blame you for making them so angry. Men are not going to respect you more if you pay into sexism to set yourself apart from "the other girls"; you're just reinforcing in his mind that it's OK to be sexist towards you when it suits him. As for skills and attributes like beauty, work, motherhood, religion, that actually do set you apart from other women: you will never win with these. A man will praise one attribute with one corner of his mouth and deride it with the other. Sexist men will never promote women out of being subordinate to them, no matter how many other women they dunk on to grind reputation with the men.

And have you considered just ignoring men instead of obsessing over them?
Have you considered leaving discussions in which you have nothing to contribute, but consistently try to derail?

I asked for a pre-emptive DMZ and was told no. So each man here gets a chance to contribute productively to this discussion on feminist theory. Some of the men hate-reading this thread are incapable of doing that, kept posting antifeminist crap anyway, and they ate a time-out for it. All I am asking is for you to control yourself and stay on topic.

Yeah, this is bullshit. You got all pissy with me because I don't follow the same psychotic ramblings you do, and upon learning I was female you resorted to petty insults then cried again for this thread to be hug-boxed.

It's insanely ironic that a thread about feminism is turning into a trash fire by a woman.

Wrong. My goal is total female supremacy. The men know it too, that's why they are afraid of me and shitting and pissing themselves. First Kiwifarms, next... the world.

Of course he watches MAP Walsh, except unlike Walsh he wishes to set the age of consent to 14 instead of 16. He also wishes for women to be put in breeding camps to "Fix the birthrates and safe the west" all this is a pretty obvious cope for being a lonely old man.
How do people like Matt Walsh get an audience? To me he seems like the right wing version of Majority Report or whatever. He isn’t funny even if unintentionally like Jesse Lee Peterson, it’s just boring shit. Also to jump back to the hating Men thing, I feel like it would make more sense to just avoid and be indifferent to Men if a Woman doesn’t like Men. Though I guess that’s easier said than done. I think there are more Women alive than Men at any given time actually. The rumor is a lot of you one non Man fellows don’t usually have to go die in wars and shit but also probably have to be pigeonholed into boring lives with no real choices of your own, which sounds like it would anger most people. I think most people on the right who hate Women don’t understand that Women are also people or consider that.

You're not really explaining to me what I've said wrong. And I don't know why you're blaming me for the moderation team's decisions.
Regardless, you're hanging out around Frequently Yelled Statement #4; but instead of being superior to other women for some concrete reason you're just deciding that getting love-bombed by four raging anti-feminist guys is worth it. Idk seems like you can pull better dick than that.

Anyway.

I don't know if this was brought up to some extent earlier in the thread (not about to read through all that), but since the 4 different waves of feminism were being discussed on the first two pages or so, I thought I might bring up the Asian 4th-waver movements.

4B is more common in Korea, I think, and it's a bit more mild and has a more universal relevancy, so that's the one most people have probably heard of in the West. The 4 Bs (4 "no"s if you had to convert the idea into English) are--no sex with men, no marriage, no child-bearing or rearing, and no dating. (By the way, same-sex marriage is illegal in most places in East Asia, except maybe Taiwan. So when Korean feminists mention no marriage, they mean not marrying men.) Basically: being single. In my opinion this movement is actually easy to follow, since it's all about not doing things rather than doing things.

6B4T is a similar movement which might be more common in China specifically, and in the West would be considered the more extreme version. The 6 Bs include the 4 Bs of the first one, as well as 2 more which are--no buying sexist products (not sure if this refers only to products or to companies as well) and to support other women who are trying to follow the movement. The 4 Ts (and I think the T means something like "getting rid of"?) are things somewhat more specific to East Asian culture, but I think they can to some extent be applied anywhere in the world. Those 4 things as directly stated by the movement are--not following strict beauty standards (plastic surgery and skin bleaching are somewhat common practice in East Asia, most particularly in South Korea), not consuming media with hypersexual portrayals of women (originally this refers to Japanese otaku culture, like lolis and other degenerate shit, but Western media has no shortage of this either), not following patriarchal religions (keep in mind that Asia, excluding the Middle East, is already less religious than European countries in general), and rejecting idol culture. This last one is especially Asia-specific, but it refers to all the forced aspects of that culture--the strict management rules, the highly curated social media presences, and the conformation to beauty standards as mentioned before. It's not quite to that extent, but those things are present at some level for most women in any kind of entertainment industry (actresses, singers, models maybe?) so if I had to come up with a Western equivalent, it would be that.

Why are you trying to turn the discussion back towards men?
And holy shit. Learn to use thumbnails, moid.

Feminism doesn't want to deal with anything icky, like the implications of the Duluth model, or male circumcision even though FGM is a thing they hate, or that the educational system is now geared towards girls and treating boys as defective girls.
Because tackling these topics would contradict the mainstream narrative of intersectionality. AKA, you aren’t racist are you?? You have to submit to the brown man just not the white man.

Feminists are sooooo stooopid!!! This is why I am not like other girls, I would never be such a nagging old ugly dyke who just goes "blah blah I don't want to be raped and murdered blah blah" all the men I know wouldn't even rape and murder you cause you are FAT and not hot like me. And anyways men getting falsely accused of rape is a much bigger issue. That's why I am a Men's Rights Activist instead, because I know we live in a GYNOCRACY run by KARENS. You catty Karens probably don't even enjoy Warhammer and eating a whole pizza unlike me. Meow meow go screeching at each other all day while me and the boys laugh at our farts, that's what real humor is btw. Anyways I am gonna shut up now cause nobody wants to hear women talk teeheeheehee! XD going to make a sandwich for a MAN!

What do women want?
Nothing less than the same rights afforded to men. Some specific examples:
1. Two baristas, one male one female, equal in skill. The female says to the male please lift this heavy box. She's incapable of the same work as him, and their pay should reflect that. Also the US Olympic women's soccer team was beaten by a male high school team. Not worth as much as men, and if they are better than the men, then let them compete against the men and see who wins.
2. We do, its called choosing to close your legs. And every state has exceptions for the life of the mother.
3. Name three inventions stolen from women by men.
4. Men have to deal with the same burden of proof for male violence. You want a magic button that will take you from police called to sentencing inside an hour. Unfortunately women need to make safer choices and learn to defend themselves.
5. Yeah we have those. Who took them away and gave them to men in dresses? Democrats. Lefty Feminists who say Feminism is for all women, by which they mean its for trannies.

Have you been personally treated badly by a Man or something? By that I mean were you called ugly a lot or some shit or bullied when you were in school? How angry you get over this just seems like some incel shit. Not the misanthrope thing people throw around, but like an actual involuntarily celibate Woman. I didn't even really say I was against feminism. I don’t understand anyone who calls someone “moid” or whatever the incel version is. You realize by being so angry, you make people not want to listen to your viewpoint about feminism, right? I imagine Female Patrick Cassius.

Wtf? How about you just let the women make their own choices about how they want to live their lives instead of banning them from the workforce? There are plenty of women who work part-time when their kids are small. It's good for one's mental health to have an identity outside of "mommy" for a few hours a day.
I did not say that women should not be allowed to work. In fact, I worded my post pretty carefully to avoid saying that, and even suggested an alternative solution for allowing women to raise a child on their spouse's dime without curtailing their right to have a career. I have no problem with women working part-time whilst raising kids, that being said, depending on the family's economic status, it may not be enough to provide enough income combined with her spouse's income. The situation I object to is when a woman has to work full-time instead of being a mother.

In a fair justice system, a conviction cannot be secured unless evidence to prove the crime beyond any reasonable doubt is procured. The testimony of one witness will never enough to accomplish that by itself. I agree fully, that, if such evidence exists, a man should be brought to trial, convicted, and sent to prison. However, weakening our ancient system of justice because it upholds the rights of the accused is absolutely retarded.

Yeah, it's kind of a sad situation that I think is another symptom of a generally failing/declining economic system. In general prices are becoming inflated while wages are staying stagnant, which in the end means that it becomes harder for anyone not in the top 10% to afford things.

I'm not going to sit here and idolize the 1950s-60s setup of having the man be sole breadwinner and the woman a full-time caretaker, because that system did have its issues as well, but I will say that it's sad that a setup like that is not even something most people can choose to do anymore. If you watch old American TV shows you'll see families with 2 or 3 children being well fed and cared for, owning their own two-story house, and having a car or two, all on the man's income alone--and these were not even necessarily "rich people". In less than 50 years that has become basically impossible.

Regarding the femcel thing, incels are femcels are pretty similar. The only difference is that Women tend to seem to want a real relationship whereas Men just are angry they can't have sex. A Woman could usually find someone to be with but it would be useless and they want to actually have someone they want, and as for Incels they just think they are deserving of some supermodel or something. Aside from that, in terms of how aggressive you are about hating the other gender, they are practically the same. There isn't much more to add about it I guess.

Watching the discussion here, I’m honestly super torn.

I see issues with men and I see issues with women. (My biggest is that we act horribly towards each other. Hostility is not needed if we are to help each other.)

I’m trying to recover from being badly hurt from my own mother. It’s so incredibly hard to overcome this and relate to other women. My Dad was the one who tried to protect me from it but it only can help so much. So I feel split with the women’s movement.

I see a ton of good but I’ve been noticing some equally bad habits/behaviors. I don’t like “All men are evil” trope because I’ve personally seen what men can be. A vast majority are hard working and honest.
I want this to be a bridge between the sexes because we all have strengths and we can use them together.

Actually this is a great question:
How can we stop female on female abuse (whatever we want to call it)?
I see mothers putting down their daughters more frequently. Seems like it spawns from outright distaste or jealousy. It makes no sense.
