I've seen Shinji Ikari mentioned a few times and TBH I don't agree. The poor kid doesn't even react in particularly amusing or unexpected ways to the various crap he's lumped with; for the most part he's a nice young boy who's stuck in a waking nightmare 24/7 and is expected to just put up with it. Even if we factor in End of Evangelion, by that point he's a broken shell of a person who literally starts the film having tried and failed to drown himself. Poor sap doesn't need a thread, he needs a hug.

Rei displays some autistic tendencies but to give her credit, she is quite literally God in a lab-grown body fashioned into the image of a madman's dead wife.
Another possible cow would be Sucy Manbavaran from Little Witch Academia, as much as it pains me to say so (she IS best girl). Vore fetish, obsession with poisons and fungus, sadistic sense of humour and utter disregard for the safety of herself or anyone else. That being said, she DOES clearly care about her friends in spite of her...weird way of showing it (she's visibly worried when Akko goes missing, is the one to return the Shiny Rod to her, and is also absolutely pissed when Hannah and Barbara start remorselessly bullying her).
She's also clearly a very damaged girl whose sadistic personality appears to be a facade to hide crippling fear of other people, and might actually qualify as a sadcow. Episode 8 goes inside her fungus-wracked brain, and in addition to all but stating that she's actually a lesbian with a crush on Akko (her most precious memory is just meeting her, to say nothing of mini-Sucy giving Akko a bouquet of lillies), it's also heavily implied she's suffering from some form of childhood trauma. And given the girl was (according to the creators) and orphan, and comes from the Philippines, I shudder to think what might have caused said trauma.
Other candidates I can think of:

Lorgar would possibly count, but given he was absolutely right, I think that's a bit unfair.

Punpun Onodera from Oyasumi Punpun but it depends if we scale the years of the manga's events to real-time or they're all transported to the present day.
