Seeing the discussion on the online era vs the offline era, I'm very grateful I can play some good feeling online with Strive. Pre-Covid era I needed to drive 1 hour+ to play locals, and it was always whatever game was popular at the time. It's just simply nicer not having to make the plans, I can boot it up for a random 3 hour session one weekend, put it down for a while, and then pick it up for another random session when I'm feeling the itch.

All I need at this point is a variety of games that interest me with high quality rollback and I'll be quite happy. Bonus points for not having to deal with weirdos that have collected in the scene over the years: We've got the legitimately mentally deranged, and are now working on like 30% people are trans like it was AGDQ or something.

Infiltration got caught up in a super nasty divorce battle with his ex wife who accused him of domestic abuse. Since the FGC is filled with simps and cuckolds he was promptly dropped by his pro team and various sponsors despite being arguably one of the best players to ever pick up a controller. As it turns out, lots of the accusations from the ex were fabricated and she herself was fairly abusive. Infiltration has been grinding from the bottom back up and for as shitty as the FGC can be, no matter how much virtue signaling they try they can't beat raw talent and it has continued paying off for him.

I remembered when he won in Samurai Shodown at EVO, which pretty much him giving the middle finger to the people that were trying to cancel him. It's great to see that he hasn't lost a step after the accusations.

I'm actually hella glad for Infiltration. He deserves a comeback. Watching him and Tokido was what got me to a moderately decent level in SF4; the Fight Night episode where they fought each other was a masterclass in using Akuma both offensively (Tokido) and defensively (Infiltration).

Not big drama, but still funny. A streamer named SonicSol was getting bodied in Guilty Gear. His opponent, who was one of his subs, taunted him and he proceeded to have a mental breakdown. Someone clipped it and posted it to r/kappa with an appropriate backing track.
