FightCade seems to be cracking down on shenanigans going on within the new FC2 client. I decided to chill in the Street Fighter Alpha 3 room and this popped up under the normal notifications.

For the record, at least to my knowledge, this NEVER happened in the old FightCade 1 client. This is the first time I saw something like this as this never showed up in the SuperTurbo room.

Unironically this. I don't partake in shit-talking on FC2, but I always believed chat moderation was gay, especially in Fighting Game rooms where the environment is mostly hostile. If you don't want any of that, just hit the ignore button on whoever is cloggin up the chat. You don't need to have global moderators that add shit like "no racism/sexism" like they're some pussy SJW, especially since that kind of power can get to their heads and then they start doing stupid shit that ruins the experience for everyone that just wants to play old-skool games.

You wanna talk about stupid shit, check this out. In January an OOC Twitter account for the Jojo game on Fightcade was created. It posted memes and dumb messages from the Hftf discord server.

By July and most the community was already fed up with the account due to it constantly “stealing” memes.

Around the same time Zarythe, the owner of the Hftf discord server was setting up a tournament for an event called Animevo. He always wanted to elevate the community into the mainstream FGC, which a lot of people understandably believe is fucking stupid.

Because Zarythe wanted this tournament to be perfect in every way, he charged money to enter. He claimed that this would prevent troll entries. This was an online tournament, that anyone with $3, from any country, could join. Some people were pissed. Zarythe didn't see a problem with it. The OOC account did. (Though it greatly exaggerated the fee)



Eventually after enough complaining Zarythe relented and made admission free. But there was a new rule in place, only NA and EU countries could join. Needless to say the OOC account had issues with this. The self proclaimed "Heroine of the Twitter community" dug up posts from 2018 exposing the "racist homophobe" Zarythe.





The community decided to defend their leader, saying "He's changed tho" and "Who cares about bad words said to a retard a number of years ago." At this point the discord server started banning people the admins thought ran the Twitter account.

Eventually one of the Brazilian members of the community named Light Speed Lucas did the most braindead thing imaginable and basically outed himself as the owner of the account.


Needless to say Lucas was banned from the discord and all future tournaments. Zarythe then made this post to explain his past actions.

The tournament would go on as planned. The OOC account still post to this day and Zarythe still runs the the discord server.

Considering interpersonal drama killed Lab Zero, I give this studio maybe 2 or 3 years if the team can hold its spaghetti in long enough to put a game out.

It's a co-op company, so it's structured the way that the "board" members who tried to oust Mike Z wanted, where everyone technically has ownership.

No no, this will 100% be TOTALLY equal. Power dominance dynamics and factions totally won't form in the team. Can't wait for someone to make a post/joke/do a thing a more popular person (say, Kinuko, the person with the most followers and clout in the group) disagrees with and the rest of the team that are friends with/loyal to her follow suit in mobbing against the offending person and oust them from the company.

But no, this is totally going to work out. Best of luck.
