JP DCs are very different because they prioritise harmony in PUGs. Unlike the other regions, they use PF to practice fights, establish one common strat and then use the high-end duty finder to actually match with other players for subsequent clears.
It's almost comically stereotypical but this method of putting safety and mutual understanding first nets them much higher clear rates for Savage (around 30%), while the other regions always get fucked with some kind of greedy optimisation strats that aim to provide room to achieve an individual high score. This usually introduces some weak point, such as more strain on the healers during a difficult phase, and ultimately makes it harder to clear.
Note how that was posted 2 years ago. This prediction would have been accurate because major patches are almost always 112 days apart but Covid delayed 5.3 by about 2 months so the whole timeline is off.
5.31 is coming on Tuesday but it only has new crafting stuff (Ishgard Restoration)
5.35 is probably coming at the start of October and will feature Bozja (the new Eureka) and Resistance Weapon upgrades
5.4 probably won't be out until December
This reminds me of something from way back in HW I believe. The details are foggy so I can only roughly explain what happened. Someone on a Japan server harassed someone (I think it was a woman for playing badly because they were new), so a bunch of people rolled alts of big white naked Roe men and "harassed" the person by just stand around his housing ward doing absolutely nothing. They were just this big gay white mass of big buff men standing around doing nothing. I don't even think they were emoting they were just in idle positions afking.
I found that funnier because they were basically doing nothing, but everyone who knew the situation understood why they were there and the guy who was targeted I believe was freaking out because he kept seeing dozens of white Roegadyn on his lawn. This little incident is just various chat spam virtue signalling nonsense and has no real theme except "Stop bad man". How boring.

A female player and celebrity named Miyu Koike, who also happened to be the host for FFXIV’s official Nico Nico channel show, had an incident where she attempted to recruit 7 other players to play with her, broadcasted live.
Abyss of Darkness, a then world 3rd Japanese group for Final Coil clear, sneaked into the party (6 of them), streamed themselves through an unofficial channel. The group then made fun of Koike through slanders, spinning the boss around, and made fun of her DPS performance.
This prompted the Japanese community to punish the group sending hundreds of naked Roegadyns (Hageruga Matsuri) as a protest. These trolls ended up getting harassed in return, which prompted them to change their names, servers, deleted their Twitter accounts, issued an insincere apology through their Nicovideo live broadcast (which further angered the community and escalated the animosity).
Finally the group received a temporary ban by the lead community representative, Foxclon himself. This escalated to a boiling point that Foxclon had to issue a statement through their own official broadcast.
I dont know why SE doesnt give the ERP faggots their own search tab in PF. It's annoying having to look at their degeneracy everytime I open the 'Other' tab looking for deals.
And the cherry on top´is that I already filled my Blacklist trying to get rid of them.
It's not like RP/ERPs do endgame content, so I can block them without losing anything.
Also, do you guys have a LS or anything, I'm tired of playing alone or wiping E5S during reclears with pugs.
As far as others said, there is a cross-world linkshell, but with only 3 people in it. I think @Auk Autist was organizing something a while ago.

The koike incident is only relevant because it's a popular person getting made fun of. When it is the rampant autism or passive aggressiveness on 3rd party platforms, Square Enix doesn't care much. In recent news, you can't call The Balance mentors retarded anymore:

Wouldn't be anything big, but methinks a common thread of 'we make fun of retards on the internet' doesn't necessitate a big organization. And as I've made the effort to get up a tank and healer besides, I've come to be all the more acquainted with Crystal's, ah, majestic creatures. Lakshmi, without fail, seems to kill 3-4 people the entirety of the encounter, every time I've run it, with literally no one pressing the button. And so even just having one or two not-tards to futz with... would be hippin' and hoppin'.
Granted, nae a soul has spake in the LS since perchance day 2, though I've been in no position to offer my services as a person of the most meager intellectual capacity just as yet. But I'm finally near to that glorious goal.

I tried out the free fantasia you get in the game, didn't really like the other race's animations compared to how juicy the Roe's are, and got the HW CE when it went on sale to go back. The game should probably, like, -tell you- to check out all the races' animations when you first start up, since it isn't like a 1-character 1-class MMO, but eh.
Literally the second you open PF, 2% of it is people doing actual content. The rest of the bullshit you see there is the same degenerate faggotry. People advertising their cafes and their erp spots so they can rope in and groom gullible idiots.
I've got no control over it, but it's fucking sad that people pay their sub to do....this with their money. You'd think they would find a place where they could do it for free. If the devs are going to give players free reign to do this, they should at least put a huge fucking label on Crystal DC that says "Server for Degenerate Fucks" with some text that reads along the lines of "if you want to actually play the game and do content, don't make a character here". Or at least give us the option to filter that dumb shit out.

This is why I hate Crystal DC and long to go to Aether...where players actually play the fucking game. I get sick and tired too of getting put in an instance with other DCs and watch people from Balmung act like autistic fucking morons while every server on Aether takes the piss outta Crystal DC for being general shit at the game. I've been of the opinion ever since the Crystal merge was announced that the dev team should go ahead and officially designate Crystal as the "Roleplay focused" data center if just to properly convey that message to the rest of us who are capable of reading between the lines. But the dev team is also weirdly adverse to the idea of applying generalized labels like that, despite being increasingly more accommodating to "roleplay" functions within the game.
I mean, look at WoW. At the very least, they DO label their individual servers as being intended for specific gameplay focuses (PvP, PvE, RP, RP-PvP) so you have SOME idea of what you'll be getting yourself into on each server.
Then fork over the money for a server transfer, you doofus. Whatever your justifications might be for staying where you are, also consider the fact that, if you're this unhappy on Crystal, then it's a one time additional payment, and more of a long-term investment than anything else, to put yourself on a different data center where you MIGHT actually start enjoying the game once again.
