Honestly, I think the XIV devs are p. solid. My only real bones with the game is more with the game's fanbase than it the devs. Yeah, I enjoy critiquing the MSQ, but if it was the drizzling shits I'd be playing WoW.

The only actual gameplay shit that I don't particularly care for, really, is the GCD being slower than other games I've played, housing being a mess and the game's snapshotting. I don't play bleeding edge, so the complaints from the sweaties don't really apply to me and it scratches the itch of being to faff around in a game world for me.

Not to totally discredit you but men certainly don't have it easy either. We're both on the same page about faggots putting on a dress and deciding that makes Adam an Eve, but it all sounds very sensational. Unless you're living in some major city where the police would take hours to respond if ever, you don't have to live in fear that you're always minutes away from getting raped. Maybe you do live in a shitty neighborhood but that issue is far more localized and not really a widespread issue, at least here in the US. And to say women are more often the target of murders is just patently false, not even close. Men are murdered somewhere around 3x or 4x more than women though it is overwhelmingly by other men. And to say you "have" to endure childbirth, yeah that's one of the most painful things someone can experience, but this isn't the Handmaid's Tale. Women aren't being made to have children.

Though I do agree that Men who think that just because Women get certain privileges does not mean they have an easier life than anyone else. The challenges are just different. If any tranny had even the slightest idea of what it meant to be the other gender Matt Walsh couldn't have made a whole movie asking what a woman is. Trust me when I say that men are not happy about this invasion of spaces either. Men are easy to please, we usually don't ask for much, other than our own space where we can just be men. Imagine what it's like growing up and everyone tells you what you are is evil, that what you do and what you want needs to be repressed but you hardly even understand what they mean. Even by other men you're expected to keep it in, never show weakness because you are always replaceable. People always expect more from you and you can never give enough. Not only is the burden of expectations always looming over your head by it's everchanging. You spend your life trying to live up to it but no matter what you do it's wrong. All you ever ask is for someone to finally say you're good enough, but men will often wait their whole lives and never hear it. You spend so long trying to be something people can look up to, something people would be proud of, then wonder at what point do you get to do something for yourself? All you want is just that little slice for something that is yours. So you start painting Warhammer figures until GW tells you GTFO bigot it's girl-stodes time. Is it really any wonder why men want to snap? Just thought I might offer some perspective from the other side.

While waiting for Dawntrail I decided to do a Heavensward relic and I was suprised at how quick the "Born Again Anima" grind was now that A9S can be done solo.

The current endwalker relics are going to be the easiest legacy relics to do once the mats become poetics-accessible.

Current relic quest is a joke and I say that as a super casual, some challenge and work adds to the feeling of accomplishment.
The only time I've cursed relic quests is ARR books, all that travel back and forth, looking for mobs, fates and leves.

And this is why they are my favorite. You don't have to spam the same dungeon or raid hundreds of times. You can do other activities and still make progress. As much as I am happy for exploration zones because Bozja was actually good, it's a double edged sword because they can become impossible to complete later down the line. I got trapped on resistance weapons grinding timeworn artifacts because you have two options. You get 3 from DR normal which can't be solo'd and literally no one has played in years but would've taken you at most 20 minutes back in the day, or grind really deep floors of PotD and pray that RNG will grant you one. For most people this step is actually impossible and was not given any sort of help once Endwalker came out.

I liked the Endwalker MSQ, but it was no Shadowbringers.

Maybe it'd have been better if it was split into two expansions, but who knows.

EW’s plot was originally going to be two expansions before they decided to staple them together into what EW eventually became. It reminds me of my issues with Stormblood where the Ala Mihgo and Doma parts felt stapled together and neither part got time to really breathe. They really shot themselves in the foot by doing that.

Honestly I find XIV’s plot as a whole to be really good for what it’s trying to go for. It sure as hell not high art, has its fair share of flaws, and definitely gets a bit too overhyped at times but for an mmo it’s pretty impressive. Even at its lowest points (which is just as plentiful as its high points.) it never got genuinely horrible to the point where I wanted to throw the towel in and quit. Though yet again I’ve endured lot of games both jrpgs and western with genuinely horrible, bottom of the barrel writing (usually due to the gameplay being good enough to ignore it) so my tolerance for jrpg stuff is probably higher than most.

Also I don’t envy anyone who has to write for an mmo. Must be hell having to write enough to last over a hundred or so hours to clear these games and keep doing it for years. Also the pressure to have to one up each expansion’s scope and threat in order to satisfy players.

I'm a mixed bag when it comes to this. Half of me appreciates the low effort because it meant that I could work my 9 to 5 and be able to keep up with the no lifers who play the game 20 hours a day and who piss in bottles and be able to do away with entire zones/content that are optional and completely lose all relevance within a few patches anyway. The other half of me wishes it was something more involved than do expert roulette for the 50th time.

The cutscene at the end was not worth all of that tedious fetch quest/go here and talk to person x nonsense. Yeah the scene was touching and all but even after seeing it, I couldn't shake off how annoyed I was the whole time leading up to it. All of that time could have been used to reinforce the plot more. Wasted potential.

The fucking Labyrinthos 87-88 bullshit was a goddamned travesty for what it is in the MSQ. The only redeeming part was that we finally got to see Urianger have something in return to the bullshit wringer they put him through, but that's about it. (The salt in the wound is that Labyrinthos is easily the least inspired and bland zone in the entire game, and that's something when shit like The Lochs and Western Coerthas Highlands exist. The entire middle part of the map is just nothing.)

They could cut out half that time and extended the Elpis road trip and I wouldn't have blinked.

Funny, I chose to do the same. After a couple months away from the game, I came back to use up what was left of my sub time, and went through an entire HW relic in a single weekend. When you have the mats and currencies handy, it really is a super fast process. And I find the HW relics to be the nicest of the bunch for the sake of glam options; shame that SB onward jobs get nothing from that easy grind.

I tried to complete a Eureka relic, and it burned me out something fierce. Eureka is fucking cancer but since I'm past the halfway point for that grind I will want to go back some day to finish it. I didn't even bother with Bozja when I realized it was Eureka 2.0 or worse. Those relics ain't even that nice to look at.

Can't believe I'm going to bat for fucking Stormblood of all things, but as time went on I've given SB's plot a lot more time to marinate in my caffeine-addled brain. SB's issue (IMO) wasn't that Ala Mhigo and Doma were "stapled together", but that the Doma part of the story was far and away a more interesting plot than the Ala Mhigo one.

I blame this on Lyse being a shit lead character for the Ala Mhigo storyline. It's sad when Yugiri and Gosetsu, who aren't even with the WoL the entire time in the Doma section, have more stage presence and memorable scenes than Lyse. Coupled with the fact that the far east is a much more visually interesting region (sorry but Ala Mhigo is just Thanalan 2.0), and it had a far more interesting antagonist in Yotsuyu, a literal traitorous whore, and you have a recipe where SB starts slow and boring, gets interesting, and then for their big climax returns to the shithole that is the land of Ala Niggers.

SB's weakness isn't that it was two plots stapled together; it's that it's a weak plot stapled onto a better one, and by that virtue has made the better plot WORSE in the process. My two cents.

curse of it's size, too many different types of players to entertain. genshin can get away with being a side-game, people paying a sub want more than that, and then it has to cater to each and every one of them.

you forget two things: troons don't want to be women, they want to be troons (for the oppression points). that's why it's all about trans rights, not women rights. second it's mostly political, being a troon gives you power. no one cares about middle-aged cis white man john smith, but jadephoenix morningdew? suddenly everyone has to bow to you, giving you the morality cudgel claiming minority status.
