Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Desolance/Lionel allegedly told the court Xenosys threatened him with a gun before a court hearing.
In response, it appears Desolance has gotten Xeno's twitch banned

Leveling dungeons are casual content. People being upset that casual content is possible to complete with non-standard groups is retarded. These people talking about going on strike are really stupid.
Basically. Unless you have numbers that literally change based on what you're doing (like, you have "trial potency" and "dungeon potency"), if you have one kit, then you need to pick what you balance around. And it would be absolutely retarded to balance around the experience of people who won't even perceive balance, and won't ever push close to the limit of their class.

As for the TOP no-healer clear being used to prove how bad healers are. Nah. It's just done to show it's possible. Ultimate challenge runs are to raiding what speedrunning is to playing a game, or clearing a Souls game without any armour. It's there to push the boundaries of what is possible within the game for no purpose other than "can it be done?". The guy with the pot on his head in Elden Ring wasn't soloing Melania with no armour to show how bad armour is.

I'd love to see the HP on Orthos mobs dropped by like 20% or so for 1-30, to make it a bit more accessible.
Yeah, they seriously need to reduce the HP. I recently did my solo clear for this and 1-30 was miserable to go through. It genuinely felt awful if you fell asleep while fighting a snail, drake or thunderbeast and you're sent back to this slog. I'm really glad I don't have to deal with that anymore.

I'm hopping back in to Orthos (because I hate myself) and it sparked another memory.

The fucking respawn rate on lower floors is also ridiculous.

I had a treasure room blocking my way and was pretty pom-screwed (no real offensive pomanders to utilize, but lots of lethargies!) AND had debuffs.

It wasn't hard, it wasn't interesting, it was just mindless tedium.

And once I carved a path through (having to stop to kill 2 patrol mobs) I had to basically do the same thing in the exit room cos it filled up with crap.

I will say that EO becomes easier the further you go and it is very generous with 'good' pomander drops overall, so overall it balances out, but man, I don't think adjusting either the respawns or HP pools on the first 3 floor sets would drastically change anything.

So...

Earlier I did a leveling roulette and got Tower of Babil. I was paired with an endgame Darknight, an endgame reaper and a leveling bard. None of them were new. I queued as WHM.
Mob pulls before the first boss weren't anything new. Noticed the tank taking a shit ton of damage and not really using his cooldowns. I couldn't even holy spam as usual because if I stopped healing him for more than 5 seconds, he'd already be below half health. But whatever, it's nothing I haven't seen before.
First boss happens and none of my party members make any effort whatsoever to dodge any oncoming AOE. They perpetually refreshed their DoT debuffs, allowed the boss to hit them with every attack and the bard refused to stack with the rest of us each time it was called for. I barely had time to dps the boss, I was too busy trying to keep my party members alive. It was then a wave of frustration washed over me. I was convinced that they were playing horribly on purpose as like some kind of counter protest or if they thought to artificially make the dungeon much harder so that I'd feel like I was doing something. Either way, I was annoyed. I had just finished working 9 hours, my brain was entirely fried and I was exhausted from dealing with a bunch of bullshit from work. I just wanted a nice chill run and these fuckers were determined to give me a headache.
Mob pulls before the 2nd boss were okay. We get to the last pack before the boss and the tank for some reason pulls them all the way up the hallway despite him not having to. So the rest of us have to run to catch up. At some point I managed to pull aggro off one of them and was smacked a few times before the tank finally noticed.
Second boss happens and my party is a bit more competent except the reaper. She retardedly stood around like a numpty and got hit by everything. At some point she was rocking so many vul stacks that the generic aoe would practically 1 shot her. I had to raise her 3 times.
Last mob pulls before final boss was a sweatfest for me. Tank wall to walled without cooldowns and the reaper once again would just not bother to dodge any aoe attacks in her direction because she just wanted to run into the middle of the crowd and spam her 1-2 aoe button combo. Thankfully I got 1 holy off and stunned them long enough for me to heal both her and the tank.
Final boss happens, reaper once again fails literally every mechanic and dies several times. When battling the lower half, both dps died to the tracking aoe mechanic and the bard very smartly ran it over the tank who stood there and ate about 2 of those aoes before the bard died. I had to raise both of them. Took fucking forever even with me trying to dps as much as I could but thanks to ME, we get through without any wipes. I get 0 comms.

I was really annoyed at first and irritated because I felt like a chunk of my time was wasted babysitting a bunch of shitters but then it hit me...my anger was coming from a place of entitlement. I was so used to the comfort of not having to do my job as a healer that when I'm finally forced to heal, I get illogically frustrated because I had that comfort taken away. When I think back on it, sweating my tits off the keep everyone alive was...it was fun. I queued in as a healer and got to heal.

Yippieeee.

While I was doing the Healer role quest, I only had one question: What is Lyse doing about any of this? Stormblood made this big, elaborate show about making her the undisputed leader of Ala Mhigo 2: Desert Storm. And yet, where is she? Although, I do feel like there is a story behind that

The "official" ingame reason is that Lyse is busy in trying to run and rebuild Ala Mhigger, so Raubahn was the one who took care of the investigation of the Blasphemies.

Meta reason? Lyse fatigue was real after Stormblood, after the way she got shoehorned into everything MSQ and literally got handed her position without merit. She's arguably the worst written character and is a contender for worst character assassination from the low standards of a typical bimbo ditz of Yda in ARR and HW. I am certain I was not the only one with this opinion. I certainly didnt miss her during any of the EW quests.

It's never not amusing to me that Graha pulls everyone who is 'close' to the WoL into the First, which includes all of the ARR Scions, except Lyse.

I know WoW dungeons are the same more or less but scaling in xiv is just nuts. Exact same runs and pulls at lv 19 and 60. Oh more abilities? Those are just abilities taken into consideration doing the same pull as previously. It's like a new class in WoW topping meters with fewer buttons cause it's more "modern". I guess same applies to xiv; BLM (unless changed since I played) having the playstyle of ARR while mch just runs around gunning with zero issues.

Yeah, but in the end you're fighting your own party though.

I don't mind busting my ass if people are new or undergeared or both, but if you're just standing in everything because you're watching anime on your second monitor I'm gonna get annoyed.

i think a chief failure of the designs is the desire to make the dungeons playable without all hands being fully on deck, even at severely reduced speeds, maybe they just want to give moments where a normal trial/dungeon can be clutched by a single tank and DPS, but in practice it just makes it so that you can be fully braindead at a role and it doesnt affect anything besides the speed of the clear

Considering they time dungeons one would think they could have high score boards and better rewards for clearing quickly.

There's also the goal of making the dungeon playable by NPCs in both Trust and duty support formats with AIs that are noticeably worse than the gambit system from FF12.

That doesnt really explain the pre trust dungeons
and even then considering they can just control the status of each NPC they can easily just buff them considerably compared to actual players or have them ignore mechanics and not dumb down the overall dungeon

All storyline relevant dungeons have been dumbed down for Duty Support.

I agree that they should not have made the NPCs be retarded players.
